Sunset Tavern

A great spot to come relax and take it all in any time of day. There's plenty of food options here and the beer gardens location right on the beach is awesome, what a great place to have a drink and let the worries of the world wash away. Watching a magnificent sunset over the gulf with a cold drink is a very therapeutic experience.

Excellent place to be at sunset. We come here from the Gold Coast every year to watch the golden sunsets. As QLD SE-coasters we only get sunrises, so this is the closest ocean sunset we see ...2500km away.

Fantastic tavern, beautiful view straight out over the water watching all the boats come in and out and the sea planes doing the prawn spotting, the tavern has everything and we ordered 5 meals and they came out very quick and the food was delicious, highly recommend the Barra Burger, was divine. Such a great spot to sit and relax, and even got a photo of a croc at the tavern. Thank you to the staff the service was 5 star.

Loved this place, must see at sunset for probably the prettiest sunset I've ever seen.

The steak I had was cooked to perfection, the chips were so good and the beer was ice cold which is welcomed here on a summer afternoon.

You cannot go to Karumba and not go to the Sunset Tavern. New owners have staff pumping, great service, top-class pub meals with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Top spot for sunsets.

Absolutely the perfect location for a few drinks, a meal and enjoy the spectacular sunset.
We travel around Australia and film pubs as a hobby and this would be up there on our favourite list!

Cracking location, such friendly and welcoming staff and delicious food. We ended up having dinner twice while in Karumba and we loved how dog friendly they were. Was a lovely vibe and great live music when we were there.

Loved our visit here, cold beer, great food but a very poor sunset, very overcast, but it didn't take away from great beer and food. An extensive menu, one of the tastiest Barra meals I have ever had. Staff happy and friendly and eager to please

Lovely pub to look over the river mouth at Karumba. Beers were just right, icy cold.

Fantastic place to watch the sunset. Get here a few minutes early to grab a beverage and find a good table. Food was very tasty - vegetarian options available.

What a great spot, cool sea breeze blowing through while you relax under a shady tree or awning after eating a superb meal and knocking back an ice cold beer.
Really enjoyed the meals that we had for lunch and the price I thought was quite reasonable.
There is an area for you to sit if you have a dog so it’s definitely pet friendly, the barking lot is the areas name.
All areas of the hotel have an awesome view of the water and I’m looking forward to coming back again this evening for dinner and to watch the sunset.
