Apollo Bay Guest House

One of the most beautiful towns would have to be Apollo Bay on the great ocean road, and the best place to stay would have to be the Apollo Bay Guest House.

The house is full of antique works of art, and beautiful art decoration pieces. We stayed in the Queen bedroom, which had a heated bathroom floor, uninterrupted ocean AND river views. It was beautiful to hear the sound of the ocean as we fell asleep and when we woke up. The beds where comfy and we had a lovely rest.

The stay has a communal reading room complete with port and chocolate, as well as an assortment of books. As you read, you can view the gorgeous ocean views all from the comfort of the sofa.

The entrance feels secluded and private, with a lovely white stone fountain surrounded by tall olive trees and trimmed hedges.

A true highlight of our stay was our Host, Stuart. We felt very welcome and where provided with homemade cookies and muffins upon arrival. Stuart cooked breakfast himself for us in the morning (and what a delicious and healthy breakfast it was!).

Very grateful to have had such a unique experience, and hopefully my review will attract more people to stay here :)

Magical experience here. Our host was amazing. The rooms and decor so elegant and antique. But….the ocean view and sound of the waves topped it all off. Pictures don’t do it justice. Access to the river and shoreline for sunrise was a dream.

Highly recommended . Beautiful house with warm, welcoming staff. Rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Great location and a beautiful beach is located at the back of the property. Lovely continental breakfast. We will certainly be back.

Beautiful waterfront home filled with lots of warmth. The owner, Mary Ann, is such a wonderful host with amazing recommendations. We wished we had more time in Apollo Bay and at this place.

A lovely french inspired home with wonderful furnishings , art and manicured gardens to appreciate.
The bedrooms in the main home have private bathrooms and are beautifully furnished. Both have picture windows and a private deck with the best views over the Barnam River to the surf beach and the southern ocean.
You have access to a classic sitting room with custom leadlight windows and a breakfast room overlooking the courtyard.
Maree and Vin are the perfect hosts and her coffees, home made shortbread and cooked to order breakfast is to die for.
If you book both bedrooms in the main home ir effectively becomes your own private luxury getaway.
Similar privacy is afforded for one couple in the separate studio with its own lounge, kitchen facilities and upstairs bedroom with stunning ocean views.
Highly recommend.

Really beautiful guesthouse where we spent some days at in January '20. The host and owner is such a warm-hearted and courteous person! Cozy and comfy accomodation, looking forward to another stay whenever it's possible again - we hope soon! PS: best-ever selfmade granola for breakfast!

This luxurious B&B is in a beautiful location overlooking backwaters and the ocean. Fantastic atmosphere is created by French style furniture. I wish I had a longer stay there, but with lots of other attractions on Great Ocean Road it is hard to stay in one place.

Mary anne is a friendly host. Nothing was too much to ask.

This was our favourite stop on the Great Ocean Road. The hosts are very welcoming, great decor and a great breakfast.
