The Grand Palace - Indian Restaurant in Sydney

Went with my daughter and parents after going around Barangaroo. We were famished and ordered Baingan, Chef’s special Paneer and Daal Makhani. The meal was wonderful and the atmosphere was serene. Great taste and great flavors.

Had a great dinner at this authentic Indian restaurant. One of the best Indian food in Sydney. The restaurant has a nice vibe. The staff are nice.

The best food i have ever had in that whole world. The service was too good, the staff named Simi served us really nice with a good smile. I want to give 10 star too it

Authentic and excellent Indian food! The paneer dishes, dal makhani, bhendi masala, naans....delicious.

Quite possibly the best Indian restaurant meal I have ever had. Food bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. Great service and friendly staff. Wednesday evening in the basement built atmospheric restaurant and very busy with many Indian customers as well as international visitors like myself and my wife. A revisit a must when on return to Sydney.

The best Indian restaurant in Sydney so far. Been here for 2 weeks already, and I haven't found any better place than this serving Indian food. Both their Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian foods are amazing. ❤

Firstly, let's talk about the Naan bread - it's as soft as a pillow and the cheese is perfectly balanced, although it could have spread out a bit more to the edges. Regardless, it's still a treat for your taste buds!

As for the butter chicken, it's definitely above average and has a great meat-to-sauce ratio. You won't be disappointed!

But it's not just the food that's great - the ambience is also fantastic. You'll feel like you've been transported straight to India with the restaurant's themed decor. The whole experience is just lovely.

Overall, if you're in the mood for some amazing Indian food with a great atmosphere, then The Grand Palace Indian Restaurant is definitely worth checking out!

I picked the Grand Palace on a whim for a catch-up dinner with my friend on Saturday night. We were both so impressed by the food and staff! The servings were generous and the waitresses were attentive and friendly. They made great suggestions for the food and advised us to order takeaway early before peak bookings started arriving which was appreciated. The decor and atmosphere were spot on. Fancy but not stifling.

We're determined to come back to try the $40 dessert platter and would recommend this place to anyone looking for great Halal food. Thank you for making it an enjoyable night. It was really beyond our expectations!

Excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. Restaurant was recommended to us and definitely worth a visit. Hasi was a great host and provided a non spicy curry for my fussy husband

Had dinner with my partner on a weekday night. The atmosphere was amazing and the service was pretty quick. The portion sizes were so big for us. It was nice and well presented. Full of flavor and taste.

The staff are all really friendly and really helpful. The food was amazing. We came as a group of nine people and everyone mentioned how nice all the food was. The appetisers were a generous size and there is so much variety available for everyone. Thank you for a great experience. Will definitely be back.

Very nice atmosphere and mid to upscale restaurant. Generous portions with tasty food. Several dishes I haven’t seen in other Indian restaurants and a large variety of choices. Can’t say about prices but they seem about right for a downtown restaurant. Service could have been a tad faster but they were also dealing with a large group of Aussies. Good mix of desi and non desi customers. The restaurant is underground but entrance is well marked. Google maps takes you around the corner so just be aware you will have to go back around to the Main Street. Definitely would recommend. Visiting from the US and very pleased by the food quality. Better than most US Indian restaurants.

I had such an amazing time here for dinner! I don’t typically try much Indian food, but the staff were so accomodating and recommended me the most delicious dishes. Conveniently located next to Wynyard Station, so it’s a great place to go after work.

The butter chicken + cheese and garlic naan bread combo was sooo amazing, I’ll definitely be back to have more!!! I heavily recommend here for any Indian-food lovers or people that just love trying new things!

We tried several cocktails, and they all were delicious. I have to say the Mojito was the Besttt Mojito I have ever tried! My other favourites were the bless on the beach (cocktail) and Harabhara kebab.
The bar tender was really friendly and he was very knowledgeable about the drinks - suggested us with the perfect drink based on our taste 😁.

I would highly recommend trying this place if you love indian food and like a bit of Rajasthani vibes in restaurant.

Had a lovely experience at this place with great food and service. The food had authentic Indian flavours including the dessert platter. I would recommend the Thali plate for express lunch which includes an entree, two curries with naan and bread and a dessert. Can't wait to be back to try other things on the menu. They are also halal!

We had an enjoyable dinner here with friends. Staff and kitchen were very accommodating with our dietary requirements and even made a 'chef special' so that we could enjoy a wider variety of flavours. The decor is beautiful and excellent value for money. Would come again!

A feast fit for royalty - all the dishes we tried were grand indeed! The goat biryani was amazing. I loved the fun element of opening it up and the goat pieces were so delicious! The nalli nihari (lamb shank) was incredibly tender and went so well with our garlic naan. I also adored the different textures and flavours in the maharaja chat. Definitely a beautiful Indian dining experience with superb service, a real hidden gem in Sydney!

Absolutely fantastic Indian food. We’re visiting from Seattle, and are used to great Indian food in that area, but this matched or exceeded everything we’ve had in the past
