Mr Darby Cafe

A lovely unexpected treat! We just happened upon this quirky cafe and had the most delicious lunch and coffee. Spanakopita pie and salad as well as the lamb and potato pie were scrumptious! Cappuccino was excellent. Highly recommend

Delicious Greek baklava, fresh, not too sweet. Rate it up there with what I have tried from around the world previously.

Iced mocha, chocolate milk shake and orange cake are also excellent.

The courtyard garden is very pleasant to enjoy your coffee/lunch. Comfortable indoor dining is also available.

The owner is very passionate about their food, and you also get to enjoy seeing their other passion for gardening.

We will be back for lunch.

The place is very cozy and beautiful. Mr Darby little cutie is the best part of this cafe. Food is good, coffee is great. Well behaved staff and very good service. I love this place. Recommended.

Came here this morning with our puppy and greeted by Mr Darby at the door. Amazing coffee and amazing spanakopita with great friendly service. Definitely coming back again to enjoy the place.

Coffee was great and really aromatic. Mr Darby the dog came up to greet us when we entered and was super cute. Cozy and lovely place for a pit stop on the way back to Melbourne from the Grampians.

Not a huge range of food, but great coffee with very friendly service. Mr Darby, a sausage dog, was a highlight.

Great pies and good coffee. Tried all three pies that were on offer with sour cream. nice pastry and tasty filling. However, the best part of the experience was meeting and patting Mr Darby. He goes where the food goes and seems to be camera shy. Will definitely come again when I visit or come through Ballarat.

Grabbed a couple of takeaway lattes - friendly service, good coffee and they use Happy Happy Soy Boy (the good stuff!). Looked like a nice atmosphere to sit in and there were some cyclists out the front who had made it a destination which always seems to be a good sign.

Mr Darby is a sensational little gem hidden in the heart of Ballarat East and George the owner is just lovely! With fabulous coffee, the most well behaved and cute dog, oh and a delicious selection of Greek desserts, this cafe is sure to be a delightful experience everytime!

Decor and layout of this place is magnificent; both the coffee & the hot chocolate are out of this world.

George has a great selection of sweet Greek delicicies to try.

The only letdown was there not being a wider range of cool healthy drinks to choose from!
