It's mostly a DIY cafe. Figure out how to order, figure out where to get water and ask for napkins. Food tasted nice. The size of the $18 chicken 'sandwiches' was a shock. It was a snack and it's 4 pieces of
regular 2 slices of bread. The staff are quiet to give you the old world feel. They aren't proactive. The beef burger was juicy and delicious.

Great food, awesome service. Dominic the waiter was great with his service. Highly recommend.

First day of the new menu. Food is tasty and came out quickly. Self Serve table water is free and they have room temp, chilled and carbonated. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Day 1 of our anniversary trip to Ballarat (2 March) we went to Sovereign Hill and we got:

This is the perfect spot for lunch, sitting close to the windows overlooking the camps & gold panning spot. We enjoyed the thicc & toasted sandwich paired nicely with crisps, and probably one of the best (if not the best) scones we’ve had ‼ The scones were massive yet fluffy, the jam & cream hit the right spots. We’re honestly dreaming of coming back just for the scones 😅

We spent the the whole day in Sovereign Hill and it was so fun! Highly recommend if you’ve never been or if you have visited but haven’t tried the dishes above 👆🏻

Friendly staff and professional, quick service. Reasonable price. Tasty, juicy burger, excellent pumpkin soup. Recommended for visitors to Ballarat gold rush tour. Great tap beer too :)

Great foods and great view!

Very nice nice themed restaurant located inside the Sovereign Hill town. We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich which was very flavourful, the mustard chutney on the sandwich was a perfect complement to the pork. We also had the Pot Pie and the Chocolate Tart which is also good.

The decor is beautiful and the staff dressed in colonial costume gives you the feeling of being back in time. We found the staff to be very friendly despite the holiday crowd and are very happy with our experience there. 👍

We were accommodated by lovely and helpful staffs. Foods were all very tasty and were not pricey. The creamed butter maple syrup that was served with the banana bread was the highlight of our meal. So delicious!

Excellent service (given they were hell busy)
Food was great and definitely something I’d order again.
We ordered the lamb and barley soup (just to die for), sliders and pork jowl.
All were bloody great to tell the truth. See the pics (apologies we were hungry and started eating before I remembered to grab some pics)

Lamb stew is superb, lots of flavour and very generous on the lamb portion also, not only stew soup.
The damper was great and a healthy alternative than regular bread with the extra veggies inside.
The staff are incredibly friendly and dressed authentically to keep the restaurant in the sovereign hill vibe.

An enjoyable respite from exploring Sovereign Hill. Food was simple, fresh and reasonably priced. Exceptional service, staff really know how to hustle! The Victoria sponge was scrumptious 😋

This place has great options for vegetarians. I was very happy with my food.
My partner also can't stop raving about the salmon he had here. He plans on coming back just for the salmon!

A really fantastic diner. The staff were all lovely, friendly, and helpful. We had reuben and cream teas. The servings were large and delicious. I recommend unreservedly.

A delightful experience. Happy to have dined in for lunch service. Loved the old world charm, period costumes/ dress code of the staff and the traditional language used by the staff, sir, mam, miss etc. Thank you for a lovely experience. Will definitely recommend and come again!!

I had the ancient grains salad…divine! My partner had the olive sourdough salami and Swiss cheese toastie with fries…huge portions, definitely get your moneys worth. Beautiful food, unique dining experience within the grounds of the fabulous Sovereign Hill.
