I would say the best caffe I’ve been in Ballarat. Perfectly nestled in front of the lake. I like the architecture of the caffe, it so homey. Foods and coffee are good taste. service from the staff above average.

The corn fritter is so good! It’s not the normal corn fritter but have its own style - more like a corn fritter pancake. The big breakfast is good too based on my boyfriend’s experience. Also the restaurant has a great vibe both indoors and outside. The coffee is slightly more expensive than average.

Perfect place for lunch by Lake Wendouree. Inside can be a little noisy when it's busy. The food is great, service really good. You can enjoy a glass of wine there as well.
Just cross the road and you're at the lake, perfect!

The service was amazing and was greeted very nicely. I had the berry tart and from eating that I can only imagine what the other tarts taste like.

It’s a definite must, if you’re going to Wendouree.

We had an amazing meal and service was fantastic. They stuffed up one of the meals but quickly fixed it within minutes so all was good in the world. I didn’t get the best pictures but we have the pasta, steak sandwich and everything was just lovely. The sauce of the steak sandwich was amazing!!!

Been here multiple times now. Food is always great, staff are always friendly. Place is dog friendly and the people are always so nice. I had the B.L.A.T Veggie with a banana milkshake. My partner had the eggs on toast with a hash brown and a coffee milkshake. We both enjoyed our meals.

Fave coffee spot by the lake. Homemade cakes, great lunches. Sit inside or outside.

Visiting son, he took us to Racers, so glad he did.
Very warm and inviting inside, staff members are friendly and helpful.
We ordered the Butter Chicken Curry, very good portions, and very tasty. Also a homemade Sausage Roll, plenty of filling. I ordered the Frittata Slice, served with salad, delicious.
We ordered hot chocolates, choc milkshake and a coffee.
Samia makes a cracking coffee.
Very highly recommend a visit, you can also sit outside and view the Lake.

Friendly, efficient, helpful staff. Food is good and it is in close proximity to the lake. Inside and outside seating with good size umbrellas. A lovely place to meet up with friends. Lovely views.

And another little gem ....Food was excellent. My steak nice and tender....Very friendly staff. Great location. You can sit at the bench or outside with a view of the lake.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast here. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Most of the meals on their menu offered a gluten-free option. There are tables outside to enjoy the good weather while dining. The outside dining area is also dog friendly.

Great view of the lake, really good coffee and the pancakes were great. Would definitely come back again.

I took some visitors there for coffee and cake. It's a very pleasant place. Friendly staff and the food tasted good.

Delicious BLAT and eggs with an iced chocolate. Fantastic location across road from the lake and fast friendly service.

Busy time handled with aplomb and enthusiasm buy our young waitress. Scrambled eggs were a bit salty is my only minor complaint.

Great place for coffee, or something more substantial for lunch. Indoor and outdoor dining with views of the Ballarat lake. Service was personal and friendly and attentive.

Love the porridge at Races Cafe looking over the lake watching the people stroll the walking path. Pretty Good .

The food was magnificent.
I was taken to a seat, guy said he'd come back shortly for my order. I just picked up menu and a young lady asked if I was ready to order. Just sat down I told her. Then it took 10 minutes before someone else came back to take my order.

Good place to take a coffee and enjoy the lake view.
