First of all,
The Kaya Toast is the best go to sweet snack I will choose again and again without hesitation. The first time I came here, a gentleman looked at me after slurping down his food and told me how good is the Hainan Chicken Rice. So… of course I tried it on my next visit, and YES! IT IS THAT GOOD! The chicken was moist and chewy at the same time. My visiting friend from Melbourne even said it was the best chicken rice she had in Australia 👌🏻

For drinks, brown sugar coffee took me back straight to Indonesia. Same authentic taste, uh so nostalgic.

Def will be back more and more 🧡

Update: Tried the spicy prawn chili omelette, was expecting it to be spicier (I like spicy) but it’s not spicy at all, if you have low spicy tolerant then you can order it! Other elements in this menu were fantastic. The prawn is smoking good. They have special menu, the congee, it’s very good and comforting! Love!

I rarely finish my meal in one go because of the huge portion, but I just couldn’t resist! Had a really great time! Been missing the food back home a lot, so our craving is really fulfilled at this place. Both chicken rice and bak mee are fantastic, both had the authentic taste and smell from Indonesia. Did not expect it to be this good, actually!

Let’s start with finding this place- it’s inside the pharmacy/medical centre. They have a postcard sized sign underneath the huge pharmacy sign- we found it tricky to get into. Walked past the medical centre and saw people eating inside at tables and it didn’t click that this was the place. The food is fusion/asian inspired cafe food and it’s great. The portions are large and generous, the food came quickly and it all tasted amazing. The coffee was good- they have some more Asian inspired choices like a brown sugar latte which wasn’t overly sweet which I enjoyed. The kaya toast was tasty- would have preferred a thicker bread but that’s just me. Would definitely recommend this place especially for those who want something different than your typical brunch in the Hobart CBD

Had a quick brekkie, located inside the building beside the pharmacy. Place looks great in a way that the space was maximised but restaurant setup wise its not that efficient for the kitchen and front of house team as they are operating in the same tight space. Food is great and the service was awesome as well! Will be supporting them and looking forward to their growth as a great establishment.

Try them out, had this as our first them and they didn’t disappoint.

Had the cajun chicken on a salad.

Butter Pandan Kaya Toast
Breakfast Udon
Sambal Prawn Chili Scramble

😊 Must try the Kaya toast. Willing to buy the coconut pandan jam if they're sold separately in a jar. The place is small and shares the space with a pharmacy, which makes the unique vive. What I actually wanted to try was the chicken rice(limited 25 serves daily) but was sold out. Will try to be the early bird to try that one.

🤔 The sambal sauce was spicy and tasty. But the amount wasn't enough to go along with the bread and scrambled egg.
The breakfast udon tasted sour, which was quite different from what I expected from Japanese sanuki udon.

Absolutely yummy!
Had the udon, kaya toast, and sambal prawn on rice!
Wash down with delicious Chendol drink! (Less sugar)

Great tiny cafe inside a medical center. Loveeeeed the sambal scrambled eggs even though the chargrilled prawns were a bit overcooked. Such a great Asian fusion meal! Best meal of my Hobart trip. The congee was also really delicious, would have loved to go back and try the other dishes.

Chicken rice here is the best in Australia. Chicken was tasty and flavor was amazing!
We have also ordered the soba noddle and coconut bread. All awesome. Very happy we would have another place that could go for lunch every week.

Really lovely food all round. Chicken rice is superb, shokupan bread- probably the only place to get one so good as here. Breakfast udon is also a surprise delight, and Bak Mee is also recommended. Everything has been made with such love and a keen eye for detail. Get in quick for the famous chicken rice as limited 25 serves a day.

Jeanny and Hatta, they gave us an awesome experienced while we're in tassie.
All the food and beverages served by love, and they are all very delicious, beyond our expectation.
Coffee is also amazing, indonesian roasted coffee they said.

I know it’s a big call but I have to say that this little cafe offers one of the best Hainanese chicken dishes that I’ve had in australia. Get in quick though as there’s a limited serving of portions each day. Almost forgot to mention how good the coffee is too!

Had a lovely first breakfast in Hobart at this cosy cafe located next to/within a pharmacy.

The kaya toast (make sure you add the onsen eggs) is one of the best I've had - the kaya is so fragrant with pandan and the butter is in a thin even layer rather than a thick chunk in the middle like many places do it.

We ordered the chicken rice, congee, bak mee and laksa. I'd say that for the traditionally more intensely flavoured and heavier dishes, i.e. bak mee and laksa, Bumi's version is a little lighter, particularly the laksa broth, which was thin and coconut milky. Would've preferred it more rich, but still a tasty and satisfying meal nonetheless! Service was friendly and smiley :)

Homesick fixed! 🇲🇾🇲🇾

Truely found this places has the best kaya butter toast and chicken rice with reasonable price. Atmosphere is great too!

This is probably our 6th visit to the cafe and food quality has been very consistent. Menu has been updated a few times over the course of time which we think it is great!

The food items below are our staple, We order them every visit! 😂🤤. Do not limited by them, there is a lot of other delicious items on the menu too!! Try it for yourself!!

Our recommendations:
- Chicken rice (limited serves per day, be quick to avoid disappoitment).
- Kaya butter toast and onsen eggs, paired with a cup of long black and you will be on cloud nine. 🌈⛅

Food was absolutely fantastic. Had the hainanese chicken rice, black laksa, Gado gado and Pandan Kaya toast. The chicken rice is spot on, the chilli sauce nails it and the chicken and rice cooked to perfection. I can totally see why they only have 5 star ratings. Also not to mention the service with a smile. The Pandan Kaya toast was also another star (you just have to try this). Keep up the great work. Will be back definitely. My background is being a huge foodie and also Malaysian.

An excellent Sunday morning breakfast at Bumi Coffee. Great chicken rice and Bak Mee. Nice flat white coffee. Choice of still or sparkling water or milk for cold brew coffee.

The Hainamese Chicken rice and the Bak me is a must have.

Wow. As a customer accustomed with the palates of a South East Asian, lunch was delicious.
