Criterion Street Cafe

Very close to the city and some really good brunch options available. I tried the Lamb Sandwich and it was delicious. Hopefully I will try more next time.

They are a 2-story restaurant/cafe and the second floor (first floor in Australia) is where you can sit, work, and/or meet people. Limited electric outlets so don’t rely on the power just in case.

Staff is good and they help you in deciding which food to order.

Exquisite brunch and good coffee. Had the french toast with some scrambled egg. Portions were suitable to the richness but not large - flavour was great. Friendly and attentive service. The laneway was not the nicest but at least the sun could penetrate

Criterion is always fantastic and one of my favourites. I went to breakfast with fussy eaters one time, and even though sweet waffles weren't on the menu at that time they still made sweet waffles for three of us (I had savoury, both delish). Also, best coffee in Hobart. Highly recommend to everyone who comes to visit.

This is a great choice for breakfast. Today's grilled haloumi on warm brown rice salad was stunning. The coffee is fabulous, strong and hot and the service is warm and welcoming.

I’m glad I got to enjoy a quick breaky here the other day. The two ladies who served my husband and I were just delightful.

I went with baked beans and it was the bees knees. Who says no to baked beans?

Hands down the best tasting coffee we have had in Hobart, all 4 of us were blown away. It’s made exactly as you like it (especially if you’re into your specifics like double shot, 3/4, extra hot haha)

Found this cafe on our last day in Hobart and was very happy with the breakfast and service we received. Staff were very friendly, food was well priced, well portioned and we highly enjoyed. Coffee was great too. Would recommend.

My favourite breakfast and lunch cafe in Hobart. The menu is not that long but every dish is a winner, classy but not pretentious. We had eggs benny with bacon and savoury French toast. Everything was excellent plus really good coffee. Great attentive service and the place runs like a well-oiled machine. What's not to love?

Very efficient and fast service! Amazing tasting coffee and food. Good prices. Will certainly come again. Servers were very polite.

Great breakfast or brunch place.
Have ate here 3 times this week and had a different meal each time.
My standouts are the Corn fritters and the Pork Sword ( potato pancakes with pulled pork) yummo . Good hot coffee as well

We stayed just around the corner from this cafe, had lunch there and was so good had to go back for breakfast the next day. Coffee and food was great!! Fantastic staff too!!

Coffee is good! Muffins are fresh everyday. They do brunch as well. Love this place, especially sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Not only that, even their service is outstanding!

Location is easy to find, in CBD. Only few minutes to supermarket or shopping center.

We went on holidays to Hobart and discovered this little coffee place and spent there most of our morning getting breakfast. Loved the menu but specially the french toast. Price is reasonable and staff is very friendly and attentive all th time. I’ll come back next time.

Genuinely interesting and varied breakfast / brunch menu with changing specials. Bright, welcoming atmosphere. Well worth stepping off the main street.

WHAT A HIDDEN GEM . I was travelling from the Gold Coast and sooo happy to find a little place that really cares . Superb friendly service ,nothing was too much trouble, top notch food ...so perfect .To have your coffee request remembered after my first visit is incredible . Staff are so friendly . James

Without doubt the best steak sandwich in Australia… great bread and pulled lamb… if there is such a thing… had to go to counter and give compliments to the chef
