Forever in my heart 💚

I’m Logan, I lived almost 3 months in Swansea Backpackers and I had a very good Life.
As a backpackers, it could be long and complicated to stay in the same place for few months, especially when it’s so quiet and without car, but I had a very good times and the owner, Chris, is a good Man.
The place is safe and beautiful.
The areas are clean and cute.
And the housekeepers are very lovely and helpful !

I reckon, a ripper of a Hostel Mate !

I have been at this hostel a couple of times and would definitely go back. The rooms are affordable, the shared spaces (kitchen, bathroom, living room) are extra clean. The staff is really nice and responsive.

We stayed there with a camper van. They have a large community area, that you can use for an extra $10, so for $35 you have showers and toilets provided outside, and a well equipped kitchen, pool, darts, wifi that you can use inside.

I am on a bikepack trip. Other bikers told me about how nice/friendly this place was. I arrived on my Bday and it was fantastic. Criss and Dani and Lucy where súper warm. The kitchen it is the best equipped kitchen I have ever seeing on a hostel. You can cook a storm on a large space. Very nice lounge social area
Any how… fantastic stop for recovering heart, body and stomach
Thank you guys ;)

Chris is a very nice host and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The facilities were clean and the capsule beds were spacious. The outdoor area looked perfect for a BBQ in the sun! We would stay there again :)

AMAZING - The lower ratings are old and refer to previous owners, I can assure you there is nothing to complain about at this wonderful hostel. Spacious, clean, nice kitchen facilities, super friendly owner and ive just had the best sleep in a long time, was perfectly quiet. Top location, plenty of parking space and even a liqor shop & pub (they do amazing pizza) next door. Would definitely stay here again.

A really nice place. Chris, the owner, will do everything he can so you feel comfortable. Place is clean, well maintained. There is everything you need: beds, warm showers, kitchen, laundry, and even more. There is a shared living room with pool game and darts, and very good vibes. Shops nearby.
You can also camp (tent, caravan, campervan) in the yard and have access to toilets, showers, laundry and kitchen.
Thanks Chris!

An extremely nice place to stay if you are planning to visit Freycinet National Park! You could stay here for two nights (since Freycinet is a big place to hike). It’s just 50minutes drive. Four of us arrived pretty late around 9pm and Chris (the lovely owner) was still waiting for us and made everyone comfortable. His kitchen is really spacious and clean with all the tablewares available. The dinning room is cozy for entertainment, good chatting, and even study. When we left, he even helped us with cleaning our car. We had absolutely no idea how to thank him. The location of Backpackers is also great with 10minutes’ walk to iga and cafe. Next door is a bar, bottleshop and cafe that opens late. Life is pretty convenient living here. Good luck with everything Chris!!!! We’ll miss you!!!

This place is great. Bedroom, kitchen, toilets and showers all so clean. There is a lovely homely atmosphere to the place. We wish we had longer in tasmania to get some work and stay here long term.
Management is so friendly and helpful also. Definitely one of the better hostels I have stayed at in Australia.

I have stayed in most of the accommodation options in Swansea and Dolphin Sands over the last 7 years. Chris wins hands down on value for money. I stayed in one of the private rooms (room 1). Very attractive bedding and perfectly clean, with a comfortable double bed. It is a great advantage to have the well equipped kitchen at your disposal, and the bus stops here. It is just a short walk to the beach, and at low tide you can walk across to Nine Mile Beach. It is by no means a rowdy youth hostel - several guests were 60’s and above, like me. Lovely spaces inside and outside to socialise or just sit by yourself. Eating places and shops for provisions are all very close; you don’t need a car. Chris is the perfect host.

Chris (the owner) was lovely, warm and so accommodating. The pods were very spacious and had enough space for our bags. Beds were comfy and doonas kept us cozy. The kitchen was large and very well stocked with cutlery, pots and pans and the combined dining area and lounge was very spacious. We had free wifi, a tv, darts, snooker table, ping pong, bike and scooter hires available for us, as well! We also had a sizeable toilet and shower area, laundry ammenities and location of the hostel was great- walking distance to the bakery, restaurant and bottle shop, few minutes away from the beach and general store. It caters to all types of travellers - solo, groups and families. My 12yo son asked if we could stay here again next time we are in this side of Tasmania and the answer was of course YES! Thanks, Chris 🤗

I had a lovley stay here. Was only supposed to stay for a night and ended up extending for a few days. Very clean and open. The kitchen is well equipped for all of your needs. The vibe is very relaxed and comfortable. The management is so friendly as we're all the other guests. Good location if you are exploring Freycinet national park. Great value for money, will definitely stay again!

After being turned away by the local "almost empty" Caravan Park for having a soft floor Camper (surely the soft floor on a cement slab is inconsequential??!!) we happened upon Chris. What a bloody top bloke & great find! Were staying for 2 nights, now 5.... possibly coming back for another week or longer!!

Chris is a great host! Got a room upgrade. Rooms and bed are clean with nice touches like a night light and a painting.

I had a great time here.
Want to thank the owner for coming out & trying to help me turn a Suzuki Alto into a campervan!! He was helpful & very nice so don’t know why there are negative comments about him - he is working really hard to turn this place around.
My room was beautiful & I slept great. The kitchen & facilities were excellent. There was everything that one could need. Showers superb!
It’s a backpackers people & not a hotel! There’s good camping facilities behind & access is good to the main building.
I am a lot older than most travellers & I was treated with respect & found the owner & his right-hand man who was decorating rooms a delight to chat with.
Good Luck to you & don’t worry about the ‘moaners’
