The Salt Sommelier experience is a must do!! Both Chris and Alice are so passionate about what they do, they give an in depth look into the salt world without boring you to death. The salt tasting experience was delicious and gives you some great tips on how to elevate your own cooking and eating experiences. The spectacular view and matching Mayfield wines definitely help too!!

Very much enjoyed, a unique opportunity to see how salt is made followed by a guided tasting of their products.
After stumbling across this Tasman Sea Salt on google maps we thought it might be worth a visit. After following the signs down the farm track to the left of the winery we had an excellent tour through the manufactory. it was all new to us but well explained.
After the tour we drove up to the winery for guided tasting of their salt with discussion on Salt's place in history, I had the paired wine.
We both got so caught up in it that we forgot to take any photos but did by a box for my Dad's birthday.
Highly recommended for people interested in local businesses.

We did the whole sommelier experience - touring the saltworks as well as the tastings. Chris and Alice are really passionate about what they do. They were both welcoming and delightful even though there was only 2 of us on the tour. The salt is produced ethically and responsibly using mostly nature's free gifts. We learned a lot about how they produce the most amazing salt that I've ever tasted. And we got so many ideas for us to take home. Tasman Sea Salt at Little Swanport on the east coast of Tassie is in a fabulous location with stunning views over Great Oyster Bay - it's definitely worth a visit for the whole experience. And Mayfield Winery is a convenient bonus.

We already cook with Tasman Sea Salt, which we buy from our local Harris Farm Market in Brisbane. So, the Salt Sommelier experience was wonderful to learn all about the process with Chris and the tasting with Alice blew our minds! We will be recommending the experience to all of our friends and family who visit the East Coast of Tassie!

My partner and I had a lovely time learning about the ins and outs of producing salt from Chris. The setting was absolutely breath taking! The tasting was at Mayfield estate where Alice discussed the difference salt can make to food while sampling different kinds of foods that salt was used in. Ended with a glass of vino on the balcony.

loooove this experience with our family.. The salt tour and talk was really interesting, our kids actually asked many questions and learnt alot. The Sommelier masterclass
was next level 'premium', sitting around a large table, magnificent view, food, wine and knowledge. Salt is now an addition to many dishes in our household, savoury and sweet... Great day and highly recommend.

What a delight to meet people so enthusiastic about what they do and so keen to share their experience! From the intricate engineering of salt evaporation using the sea’s thermal mass through to the thrilling difference a few grains of salt make to a chocolate truffle, this experience on the picturesque East Coast was truly absorbing. And the salt is delicious!

The Salt Sommelier day was amazing. The salt works is set in a stunning location by the Tasman Sea. Christopher shows you around and explains the production process. This is followed by a tasting at a cellar door where Alice shows you how to pair salt with small delicious bites. Christopher and Alice's knowledge of salt, it's history, production and how to combine it with food is fascinating. I would highly recommend this experience.

It was a great tour to see how this local business produces natural sea salt in a sustainable way. Definitely an eye opener. Alice is a very good story teller about salt and the small bites were presented to bring out the specialness of the Tasman sea salt range. The Mayfield wines paired really well with the bites. definitely telling my friends about it!

As farmers ourselves with an extreme love of food, we absolutely loved this experience! Chris was amazing explaining the salt harvesting process, then Alice was awesome explaining how salt changes the flavours of different foods. We would highly recommend this experience.

A great experience.
So lovely to meet such knowledgeable and passionate people! Chris showed us how the salt is made, natural and sustainable, on an incredibly beautiful landscape (a sea eagle was soaring above us as Chris spoke, so special!).
Alice did the salt sommelier with us.
It was so interesting, the salt, food and wine were all amazing!
Highly recommend to anyone (especially foodies!) travelling the East Coast.

Our Salt Sommelier experience at Tasman Sea Salt was the highlight of our east coast weekend.
Chris gave a thrilling tour of the salt works, which is in the most idyllic location following which, Alice's bites, knowledge and stories really brought home how lucky we were to be there that day, to hear the story of a family business that is producing a unique and outstanding product that is also completely of its place. As I mentioned to Chris and Alice, we were particularly impressed by their use of local seafood in the tasting menu.
