MEL'S KITCHEN

A nice restaurant to stop at while doing a road trip through the area. The meals were very well presented and delicious. The serving size was good as well. I loved the atmosphere overall. Even though we were advised there was only one chef, the meals arrived in decent time without any issues.
This stop makes your road trip a little more fun. Also staff was very friendly and you often meet other travellers which was so much fun for me to chat to them.

Mel's Kitchen is such a hidden gem! We drove past the signs and booked the lunch via Facebook. The process was easy and fuss free. The restaurant overlooks the vineyard with the valleys in the background. The food was absolutely done to a perfect balance. We had the fries, Southern fried chicken tacos, and scallops on cauliflower mash with chorizo crumbs. I would recommend trying all the three above! Fresh ingredients, well balanced refreshing flavours, a place you do not want to miss!

We had a lovely family lunch at Mel's Kitchen. A good range of dishes from finger food and mains. Also, a nice range of drinks to compliment the food, especially the wines from Springvale Vineyard. There were 11 of is in the group and no'one left unsatisfied.

Absolute gem of a place! Delicious food and a view to match. We really enjoyed the wine pairing with the food. Stumbled across it on our travels but will be back.

We visited for lunch as a family group of four, and we were not disappointed.
We had a winetasting at the cellar door before heading to Mel's Kitchen for lunch.
We took the suggestion of ordering a variety of dishes to share and enjoyed them all.
The food was well-presented, and tasted great.
The service was exceptional for both the winetasting and the meal.
I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Mel is a good magician every dish was treat for your taste buds all meals were absolutely superb.

Greek lamb cigars - delicious, and
eye fillet medallions mouth watering superb.

This place is a MUST! The food was insanely delicious. The staff were all so welcoming and made our visit so special. Thank you to Mel and the lovely staff for the incredible food and hospitality. We are definitely coming back when we can!

We are so glad that we stop by on our way to Bicheno. Beautiful place, such a relaxing place to have a meal and friendly customer service. The foods are amazing, love the lemon meringue tart! So good! We will definitely be back again.

An absolute must do! Our experience was fantastic from food to wine to service, couldn't fault a thing. Two waitstaff in the restaurant with a large amount of guests, but nothing felt rushed. Servers were kind, patient and approachable providing an all around positive experience. The pork belly was amazing and super crispy. We ordered a side of fries and for $11 the serve was extremely generous with a lovely salt. The sticky date pudding was super moist and came with ice-cream and berries 🤤 The wine tasting was informative (and complimentary!), and the price points for wines by the glass and bottle were very reasonable for the quality. The Pinot Noir Reserve is divine! So many small touches that made the experience fantastic - plus if you weren't sold already, there's a vineyard dog!

A delightful lunch at Mel's Kitchen. Highly recommend. We shared a few dishes, a couple of glasses of wine and the chocolate mousse cake which was excellent!

Amazing meal, we also had the pate and hommus, they are amazing, best I have ever had. Soo tasty. Highly recommend lunch and a wine tasting. The best winery on Tasmania's East Coast. Sauvignon blanc and Chardonnay's are top class.

Awesome fusion cuisine. Tried 3 dishes (arancini, calamari and lamb cutlet. Can’t fault a thing. And all these yummy dishes come with great customer service. Very happy. Thanks Mel.

Visited twice in two days, food and service was amazing. Gorgeous location!

Called in without reservation as we were driving around the area. So happy we did! It was lovely of the staff to accommodate us without a booking as it's very popular. We loved the decor and ambience as well as the fact you can grab a bottle of wine from the cellar door just outside. All of our meals came out in a timely fashion and oh so good!
The pork ribs were generous in size and very tender. The chicken wings were spicy and tender and the beef croquet were the best I've ever had. Would love to be able to come here again but sadly won't be returning to Swansea anytime soon. Highly recommend this fantastic restaurant for either a special lunch or just because...

Four of us went for lunch and all were very impressed with the venue, staff and in particular the food. If there was 6 star reviews, Mel's would be eligible. I would thoroughly recommend if you are travelling on the East Coast of Tasmania you go here and experience the pleasure of great food and service. Check website for details.

I never rave about going out to a restaurant, but this one takes the cake.
There was a party of 10. We had a type of tapas lunch, Kofta,Salmon pate,and Pork belly. I had never had Kofta ,beautiful with the hummus and pumpkin , pork belly to die for, also Salmon pate.
Mel the owner was more than accommodating and explained alot about she made things. Oh we also had beef croquettes, being Dutch heritage myself and making these as well, Mel were perfection.
OMG I can't believe I wrote so much. I'm hooked.
