We hired a great little MG from this place. We would highly recommend. The customer service was fantastic. Very reasonably priced!
Simple and easy to do, we just walked in off the street.
They have a great sporty orange mustang there and a good range of cars.
Would certainly not hesitate to go back and hire another car from there.

Everything went really well, I got a car right away and was even able to extend my rent spontaneously for one more day. Prices are good as well and Meena was such a great help, she explained me everything and showed me which cars I could rent. She even gave me and my friends tips where to go and some tips. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Such a fantastic experience with Port Douglas Car Hire. They were very helpful over the phone with the booking process and pick up and drop off was extremely smooth. I rented the Jeep for one day to head up the coast and it was very comfortable, and although the price was a little bit more than I was hoping for, demand is very high at the moment so it is to be expected. In these challenging times it’s nice to see people supporting small business with a nice attitude, friendly manners, and a little bit of patience. I really hope that everyone supports Port Douglas, including this great business.

Efficient, friendly service, nice clean car. Reasonable rates. All you could ask for!

Our group have hired cars on three separate occasions in the last 12 months from Port Douglas Car Hire. This time we had the misfortune to receive a stone chip in the windscreen. We returned the car after hours and left a note in the car to advise of our misfortune and followed up next morning with a visit to the shop.
Meena thanked us for being upfront reporting the chip and advised of our obligation under the terms of the rental agreement, and further advised she would get it assessed by the repairer and advise of the cost. Day later I received an email advising of the cost. I rang Meena to confirm if that was the total cost, Mena advised it was correct. I thanked Meena for her generosity as there were other charges that she was entitled to charge under the hire agreement which Meena waived.
On all occasions when we have hired cars and added extra drivers to the agreement Meena has been helpful polite and cheerful, the cars have been clean and well maintained.

Daily-hire available for walk-ins which is fantastic for the tourist trade. A good selection of vehicles available from MG3 hatches, MG ZS, Jeep and Merc SUV, a Mustang convertible and Toyota 8-Seater vans for the bigger family / group. Very specific rules for vehicle hire which they will run you through at collection.
Good to know: it’s not possible to reduce insurance damage excess to zero (usually down to $1,000-$2,000 depending on vehicle size).
