Queen St Eatery occupies a very unassuming shop front on the Main Street of Berry. As a local I have walked past countless times; even stopped and read the menu on their window on more than a few occasions. I have always thought “we should try this place one day”. Well the day finally came and myself and the rents headed in for a 8pm seating on a Thursday night.

Once you walk through the front doors you are met with a cozy dining room. Space for a bar on the left and seating on the right; the atmosphere is intimate yet lively. There are tables of no more than four adults and a welcome lack of “family groups”. I mention this because Queen St subtly promotes itself as a more adult centric venue on their web site stating they don’t have high chairs (due to space restrictions) or a kids menu. And why not? It’s refreshing to have a place that is guaranteed to be a sanctum for adults away from the screams and raucousness of ankle biters.

One of only a few criticisms is the seating. The long bench seat on the wall has no cushions or padding and after enjoying a long meal and beautiful wines your bum and back does pay a price. Staff were nice enough to get a blanket for us to sit on but consideration should be given for permanant bottom pleasing padding ☺.

Ok, onto the food! WOW! Another gem in the Berry food crown! Queen St is serving up a French inspired buchon menu. A buchon focuses on quality not quantity and their two or three course menu gives you a choice of three or four entree’s, mains and desserts. There was also a specials menu.

The food is fresh, refined and extremely well executed. Everything we tried just made sense. For me the stand out dishes were the entrees of beef carpaccio and the scallops. The Murray cod was cooked to perfection and the crunch of that crispy skin will stay with me as a treasured memory. The steak was melt in your mouth perfection. I don’t get the frites allumettes… it’s potato finely chopped and baked, like small potato crisps. It’s a bit dry and boring. A smooth Paris mash would have made this dish but redeemed by the accompanying shared green salad and fries with truffle mayo.

For desert we had the tiramisu and crème brûlée. These were nice enough dishes but for me just seemed to lack a bit of wow factor. Maybe it was the presentation or the fact we were already quite full from the rest of the meal but it just lacked something. Otherwise very fresh and tasty enough.

There is a fantastic wine selection centred around French or French inspired Australian wines. We tried a lovely Australian white and an interesting amber. There was also a number of beers on tap. The pale ale hitting the spot for my old man.

For those who read my reviews you know that I am a stickler for a cloth napkin. So, no cloth here, but the paper ones were very high quality and fine, I guess lol.

In conclusion… we left with tummies very full! The $85 (two course) or $99 (three course) menus are substantial and satisfying. The food is amazing and the drinks equally as impressive. The staff are also extremes friendly and accomodating, thanks for a great evening!

Another local that I will recommend and be back for more!!

Such a beautiful little restaurant, had one of the best dining experiences I’ve had here - was also incredibly impressed with the emails received re: dietary requirements and allergies before arriving. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend!

Everything we had was delicious! Serving size was filling (we were so full at the end we couldn't finish dessert - and now I can't stop thinking about it 😄). Service was impeccable. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Great food and great ambiance! This place is a gem!

Kudos to the chef, Rebecca and her entire team for giving us a great 3-course meal dinner experience.

Will definitely book a table again when we come back to Berry for retail therapy!!!

The most beautiful menu that accommodates everyone - meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. Every plate tasted as good as it looked!! A must place to visit when you pass through Berry

Lovely place with amazing food (best beef carpaccio I have ever had) and the staff are friendly. We had a set 2 course meal and it was well presented and tasted fantastic. The owner took her time to chat with us even though it was busy. Can highly recommend the place and would love to come back again.

My absolute favourite restaurant on the south coast. Food is consistently amazing, service fabulous & attentive and a wonderful atmosphere regardless of the time of day. Bec and her team will definitely go out of their way to look after you 🥰

Lovely little bistro in Berry. We enjoyed a 3 course set menu which was outstanding! For the entree we had steak frites and were able to substitute the frites allumettes for normal fries (just because we preferred fries versus the crunchier frites). The steak was mouth-wateringly delicious, cooked perfectly and the staff recommended a wonderful shiraz to enjoy with it. Overall an extremely enjoyable meal in a lovely, warm environment. Highly recommend visiting!

Great food and a beautiful atmosphere. I had the green breakfast with 2 poached eggs on top. It was done perfectly and very filling.

It's got a great Southern French charm and is clearly a local favourite.

The All Pressed coffee had just topped it for me and completes the great experience. Well definitely come and visit again next time I'm visiting Berry.

Brilliant evening meal! Freshest of ingredients expertly prepared, coax their natural flavors to shine through. Inventive twists on traditional French bistro fare are successfully done without feeling contrived. Elements blend, contrasting textures are highlighted. Designed by the owner, the setting reflects a quiet sophistication. It is quaint, delightful and comfortable. The service is welcoming and personable. *Not to be missed is the White Chocolate Ganache with Raspberry Granita... it’s an 11 on a scale of 1-10 (and that’s from one who never eats less than dark dark chocolates). Indoor seating is limited so reservations are highly suggested. A hidden gem, one of Berry’s finest.

Loved, loved, loved it. Great service, so attentive and a really beautiful menu. It was special to be there during resuming their first week of dinner service. A fixed menu with options that created a perfect dining experience. Highly recommended as a very Berry dinner with a touch of elegance!

When visiting the Shoalhaven area, there are plenty of great eateries. The beautiful and historic village town of Berry is a big draw card in this regards. Queen Street Eatery is one of the top dining venues in Berry. Run by mother/ daughter team; Bec and Louise, along with a great team of staff, this lovely French influenced bistro is nice and bright, with white interior wall panels, marble tables, contrasting wood floors as well as some texture from the corrugated ceiling. As a whole, Queen Street eatery exhibits a sophisticated, yet relaxed and cozy south coast vibe. The service is very warm and welcoming, which enables this vibe to be felt. Some French tunes see heard on their playlist and the clientele’s banter adds to this ambiance.

There is counter seating with wine on display, a great spot to enjoy a tipple. The drinks list includes wines from premium Australian vineyards and features French wine, spirits and interesting beer selections, including a green beer from Mont Blanc with a unique sweet herbaceous nose and flavour. Queen Street Eatery also serves Allpress Coffee which is great for the morning crowd and those who enjoy a coffee after a meal.

Beyond the great drinks list, there is spectacular food. The chef Robbie has passed through Cirrus (In Sydney’s Barrangaroo) on his way to Queen Street Eatery, bringing with him expertise in majestically preparing the seafood. Our lunch starts with some dainty crackers topped with whipped trout roe and Cod Caviar, although small, these bites were packed with flavour. These were also accompanied by some delicious Narooma Oysters, fresh, creamy and full of flavour, served with a traditional mignonette and paired nicely with a glass of white, in this instance, a chardonnay.

For our entree, we have a trio of Scallop Gratinès served in a half shell with garlic butter, they looked so pretty on the plate. The scallops topped with a herb crumb that added to the sweet natural flavours of these shellfish medallions. We also sampled the tuna rilletes and were impressed with the flavour combinations, when mixed with the delightful herb cream that accompanied this dish.

For mains, the Grilled King prawns were thoroughly enjoyable and the natural flavour of the prawns was heroed and enhanced with a flambe sauce au Pernod an anise flavoured liquor from France.

The moulle and frites, another classic bistro item was on point and a superb choice, whilst the mussels were nicely flavoured in aromatic white wine sauce and with a side of French Fries to take on any leftover sauce. Speaking of French Fries, the side of fries was served with a truffle sauce so moreish, it could almost be sold as another drink on the menu.

Queen Street Eatery offers a great allround dining experience and well worth a visit at any time of the day and if they have any profiteroles, do your self a favour and grab one or more.

Queen Street Eatery is one of the many great restaurants to visit when in Berry.

What a nice little place! Food was really good, from the fries, to the beef, to the gnocchi. I really recommend the place. The servings are not big, but they make up for that in taste. My beef was super tender and my partner's gnocchi was so nice it is hard to describe... Staff were very friendly and did not measure efforts to ensure my allergies restrictions would not be a problem. 10 out of 10.

Great little cafe, albeit a little on the expensive side. You are looking at restaurant prices for a cafe experience.

Everything on the menu was very well prepared - tasted excellent.

Definitely one of the more refined establishments along Queen Street, and one that will rival a lot of the eateries in Sydney.

Amazing lunch. I had a charcuterie board and crab linguini and some chocolate with honeycomb. My wife had prawns, ratatouille and vanilla crème brûlée. Such nice staff and great atmosphere.

Tried the Pistou "Buttered" Toast with Sautéed Mushrooms, Mustard Greens and Pine Nuts. Had a Latté too which was super smooth and mellow! After realising they used Allpress Beans it all made sense. Super cool retro cracked pepper grinder on every table. Table service, and pretty laid back popular music playing. Loud enough to enjoy. Not loud enough to distract from conversation. Easy 3hr parking around the corner and a beautiful quaint feel as you walk through the door. Love the rustic feel of the corrugated tin ceiling and the gorgeous timber benches along the wall for table seating. Highly recommended!

Queen street eatery provides a rare restaurant experience. From the warm freshly baked bread roll to start , to the subtle flavours delicately balanced, and fresh ingredients with beautiful presentation throughout the set menu. The ambiance was charming and inviting, and the service warm and knowledgeable with tips on wine paring and interesting historical facts about the delicious Malbec! We would highly recommend to anyone visiting Berry or the south coast, and look forward to coming back soon!

Six Stars! If that were possible. Outstanding atmosphere, impeccable service, and brilliant food. This place not to be passed. Entrees, Mains, Deserts delicious; the battered flathead (perhaps a little too much salt on the fries) followed by apple tart made a get-you-to-Sydney lunch, all assisted by perfect coffee. A place that brings a new napkin with your desert cutlery knows what it's doing. While here, look up at the ceiling.
