Apollo Bay Seafood Cafe

An unexpected gem during our Great Ocean Road trip. We passed by this row of restaurants and didn’t know where to eat at and this restaurant was bustling. No regrets as their fish and chips were really fresh and delicious. Loved their prawns too. No fishy smell at all and we were craving for it the next day and the rest of the trip. One of the nicest fish and chips we had.

A little pricey, as with all food in Australia. But the calamari was godsend and very well seasoned. Fish and chips were good too. Nothing to complain about, though the wait was a little long as all the tours arrived at the same time and flooded the restaurant! But the staff handled it swiftly and we got our food within 15 minutes despite the long queues.

Seafoods are fresh and good. Platters had big portions and all seafood including scallops, fish, calamari, prawn, etc are all really delicious and fresh. Oysters are tasty and smells good. Recommended!

Here for a pit stop at Apollo Bay along the Great Ocean Road. Had some freshly fried calamari and chips. Nicely crisp on the outside and tender on the inside!

The Appollo tasting platter was delicious. Seafood was fresh and flavourful. The portion given was over the promised six pieces each for each type of seafood. Fresh oyster, prawn, scallop, scallop and calamari was so good. Mussels just mediocre. AUD80 per serving was value for money and sufficient for 2 to share. 5 stars

Garden salad at AUD7 was great compliment for seafood.

Passed by this seafood Cafe during a tour trip to Great Ocean Road. The food was good and very fresh. Had really fresh Oysters, fish and chips that they select in front desk, the mussels with garlic white wine was delicious 💫
The service was great. Quite busy place. Would recommend as the lunch place to go if you do the tour guide, you won't regret 😉

Amazing fresh seafood and they have non fried options! We had the seafood platter and it was $80 well spent with 6 of each of calamari, oysters, king prawns, scallops and mussels. You could taste each dish and would definitely return when down this part of the world. The French girl behind the counter was a credit to the business, too.

Fresh Fish and Chips, delicious scallops and juicy prawns. Great place to eat along the great ocean road.

Stopped in for lunch on Monday, ordered flake and chips with some sauce for takeaway and it was incredible, the flake was so soft, tender and juicy, the batter was crispy and super light.
The chips are fresh, cooked perfectly and was a good portion.
Wrapped up the good old fashioned way in a sheet of paper, over all what a good feed, very happy with my meal.
Came back down today “Tuesday” for a second helping but you are closed, so sad because I want more 😢

We had fish and chips, salad, and a steak burger. Thin fish batter... TOPS!! A great menu, fish, souvelaki, salad, pasta, burgers. Good serves, great presentation, Salad was fresh and dressed well. The nicest meal we have had on our holiday by far. HIGH RECOMMEND.

On our 4th day for the Easter Weekend.
Just tried out this place.
After a few disappointments with other restaurants in the area.
The customer service was bubbly and friendly.
My wife ordered the lobster sliders.
I got the lemon pepper calamari and chips, plus a few king prawns on the side.

Prices were very reasonable.
Food was fresh and very tasty.
If you are in Apollo Bay and looking for great seafood reasonably priced.
I'd recommend putting this on your list.

There is also a secluded beer garden out the back that is lovely with plenty of space between tables.
And a play out for little ones.

Great first experience and will definitely eat here again.

Easily the freshest fish I've ever had in fish and chips. The tartar sauce was absolutely phenomenal as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

Super fresh and tasty seafood. Seafood platter is a must try here. The prawns are so sweet and huge! Plenty of free street parking.

Ordered the seafood platter for 2 and 2 glasses of sav blanc..eating fresh beautiful seafood in their alfresco area under perfect blue skies. Service was perfect, food just delightfully prepared and a beautiful greeting as we entered. Felt welcome after a 4 hour drive.

Just brilliant, the platter for 2 was a really good amount of food. The calamari was some of the nicest I have had in the country, the prawns were excellent, the fish was very tasty and really crisp. The only thing that I’d change would be to add a bit more seasoning on the chips

Fantastic experience at this lovely restaurant. They were very accommodating, we asked for a chilli mayo sauce with our dish (which they don't serve) and they made up the sauce especially for us! Great experience.

V fresh seafood. Had mussels in white wine sauce. Chips were done to perfection. Fried batter was light n fluffy!

Ordered the Seafood Platter for 2 to share with my friends. Loved it. The platter came with a few pieces of fish, scallops, prawns, calamari and of course chips and salad. The salad really helped to balance things out as it can eating all the fried food can get a bit much.
