The Lounge

This is the third time I've been here and I love it every time! The Lillianfel's lounge is the only place I've been with a high tea that actually fills you up, not to mention delicious while still cheaper than most high teas.

My server Geoffrey was wonderful! Truly a first class waiter. I cannot overstate how impressed I am with his service. I felt like royalty, which is nice because some of the fancy places can be intimidating for young people (I'm 23).

The place has an elegant yet welcoming feel. With kind and friendly staff and the most beautiful lounge I've ever seen I felt like I stepped back in time!

I would truly recommend this place to anyone!

Buffet breakfast at The Orangery has returned, and I'm glad to say it is just as good as it was before the pandemic!!

We are both lovers of high tea. And this is without a doubt one of the best high teas we have enjoyed. The food and service were excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful without being pushy. For anyone who loves high tea and beautiful surroundings this is the place to go.

Absolutely loved the salad nicoise. Was prepared perfectly, super refreshing. Great service and atmosphere too.

Had lunch here as a quick stop whilst in the Blue Mountains. The food was a bit pricey but expected from a hotel restaurant. Overall we are happy with the quality of the food and the service from the staff. The beef cheeks and risotto were really good. The lounge itself was pretty nice too, lovely ambience. Will probably try the Hugh Tea next time.

High tea was nice, would have preferred more variety of sandwich, however the egg sandwich was extremely delicious.

The only thing missing was the fire going as it was a cold, winter & rainy night. Nice wine & yummy cocktails. The high tea was also great.

Great service, delicious cocktails, but the place is not that clean which is disappointing for a five star hotel.

Food was good, 4+ stars. There was certainly plenty; we all left stuffed. I particularly enjoyed the Indian bites and the barbecue (?) bite, but I thought the eclair was a bit stale.

Service was so-so 2-3 stars: we had to ask for a fourth plate, even though we had four people. They seemed to have missed that we preordered, which caused some confusion, and it took quite a a while to get our food given that we had preordered and had a reservation.

My biggest complaint was that the table/chairs were extremely uncomfortable: the chairs by themselves were fine, but they were much too tall for the short table. I spent my entire tea contorted into a very uncomfortable position.

We ate here on a Tuesday night. The food was delicious and atmosphere is just beautiful. The waiter or maitre de looking after restaurant was unfriendly. No greeting, didn't speak at all as we were shown to our table, food was placed heavily on the table making a loud banging noise. This let down what could have been a perfect restaurant experience.

Lovely spot. Staff seemed lovely tho Lilienfels has real trouble recognising RedBalloon.... their voucher paid for about half of experience.... gifted by a generous friend we hosted.

There was confusion 5 weeks ago locking in booking. After a lot of email correspondence we thought sorted but on arrival were met by more requests showing the voucher part of payment. It was loud enough for a lovely older gentleman to come over and say to my husband 'You don't look like the type to scam a high tea' 😉 !!

Once sorted staff became receptive and generous. Food was fresh and delicate. Atmosphere overall perfect though lighting was fluro(?) and had subtle flashing to it.

Location and nature sublime!

We had High Tea here. Fans of the British version of High Tea will find variations on the menu - no cucumber sandwiches here. Not a big fan of the cold egg 'treat', nor the wrap which was one of the sandwiches. The lounge itself is lovely, but casual. Perfect for tea and scones, but if you want traditional High Tea look elsewhere. Service was spotty - after being seated we waited 10 mins for our promised water, and they weren't that busy. Something lacking here.
