Mesa Barrio

This must be our favourite restaurant in all of the Blue Mountains. We've been twice now and it never disappoints. The place has a great vibe, excellent service and it conveniently located across Lawson station.

We ordered Chicharron (fried pork skin) with seaweed salt, Fried haloumi with oregano and grilled lemon, Salt baked hummus, Tumeric Tahini, Pistachios and Grilled Sourdough, Braised Cowra Lamb Shoulder and Asparagus with Blood Orange, Strawberries and cream dessert and the special Creme Brulee.

Our Walking Food Grazing Tour of Lawson visits Mesa Barrio to enjoy two share grazing plates. The service and staff are extremely professional and the food top class. Our customers really love this venue where they get to talk to the chef about his journey at the table.

Ok, let's get real. This place is fantastic! We had the house pickles are life changing. The hummus with gluten free bread was divine, and the mains of lamb and fried cauliflower was such a good finish to this phenomenaleal!!!

Table for five, each and every dish A+. Service and price match the food. Beer choice a bit poor

Smallish menu but the food was fabulous. The sourdough was delicious. The haloumi was possibly the best I've had. The steak was succulent and the chicken was deliciously char-grilled and tender. The wine list was interesting??? Great food. Great service. Thank you for a lovely evening.

The food is Spanish tapas style so you will need to order share plates. There are about 12 or 13 dishes to choose from, ranging from small to large portions, as well as a couple of sides and desserts.

Food was fresh and service was really good. There was a good youthful and local vibe at an otherwise pretty dead shopping strip.

A suggestion for improvement would be the booking system, which currently requires calling.

I had my hens party at Mesa Barrio last night. The food was absolutely incredible and Alf's bespoke cocktails were flowing. The staff who looked after us were super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Despite there being 29 of us, staff went above and beyond to ensure people with dietary requirements were looked after. Thank you for a bloody awesome night, we will all be coming back ❤🙏

Service was excellent, the waitress was warming and welcoming, she also recommended us wines to pair our food.
The food was outstanding, we had some sort of salmon tartare and gnocchis as starters, both were amazing and plenty of flavors.
The mains were duck and pasta with beef ragu (this was the only downside as the meat was a bit salty)
They do a 10 plates chef’s experience, we regretted not going for it after tasting the starters. I reckon it would have been awesome. Highly recommended place.

Wow !! What an incredibly stunning dining experience.
Not only was the food second to none, but the service was like no other I have experienced.
The ambience is really lovely, no blinding lights, restrooms absolutely immaculate. Nice music without being overpowering.
Who knew such a wonderful restaurant was so close to us.

We heard great things about Mesa barrio being voted one of the best restaurants in the blue mountains and it did not disappoint. Everything about the night was memorable. The service was faultless. Our food was absolutely delicious and the tapas style dishes cater for sharing so you can try multiple things on their menu. And after I told staff it was my partners birthday, they even added a candle to one of our desserts. A sign of a classy restaurant. A must do - will be doing it again next time I’m in the mountains.

Like us the chef has left Sydney for a much better life in the mountains. Top quality European food. It all looks that good that we can the chef pick menu which gives you a bit of everything. The wine and cocktails are top class. You will need to book for the busy nights Friday and Saturday and holidays (quick and easy to do via there website)

I have dined here twice. On both occasions the food has been top notch and very tasty. The gnocchi is devine. The friendly team adds to the overall experience. Definitely coming back sometime soon.

So yummy. We had an assortment of seriously delicious food for my partners birthday. Any place that can make pumpkin that good deserves a medal. The waitress was warm and attentive. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Great food service and atmosphere. I recommend going with a group so you can taste your way through the menu. Yes its a bit noisy but thats because its so popular and a packed house usually makes noise. A great find in the mountains. I will definitely be returning here. Well done mesa barrio!

Wow! What a culinary experience. The food is impeccable and the cocktails are killer! The service was unbelievably fantastic and we sat at the bar!
The atmosphere was quirky and lively with a bit of funk, thank you Mesa Barrio for sharing all you talents with the world.

This was my second visit back, and my family were blown away by how good the good was. Only issue was the seating for 6 over a big table which made conversation hard 🙁 Otherwise, it was a great night overall. Highly recommend this place for amazing tasting food!
