Polar Bear Of Leura

The food was delicious! We had pizza, pasta, salad & the mixed grill plate. Our dining experience was made more memorable because of Daniel, the manager, who was so efficient, friendly & warm. Also Tom, bartender/manager, made the most amazing cocktails & took the time to indulge us in his passion for cocktail making. All the staff were welcoming & friendly, service was excellent. We would definitely come back to Polar Bear next time we’re in Leura!

Really nice place .not sure why it was fairly empty.. we had the beetroot yoghurt and the Taj Mahal pizza.. I know it sounds like a butchery of two cuisines but the pizza was quite delicious.. we were intrigued by the name and were pleasantly surprised .

This place is fantastic!
The service was exceptional without being intrusive.
The seating was spacious so even tho it was busy it wasn't noisy.
The bar was well stocked, the food was delicious and the pricing was very reasonable. You would be crazy not to give this place a visit.

A lovely vibe at this cute tucked away restaurant bar in Leura. We ordered the supreme pizza which was great tasting. And the kaftas from the kafta plate were very tasty. Would've loved a bit more smokiness in the baba ghanoush, but good nonetheless. The cocktails were superb, and the decor and lighting was perfect. Would recommend!

What a great restaurant. We stayed with the starters only and all were very good (Lentil soup, sizzling prawns and then slow cooked lamb shoulder). Service from both servers was friendly and attentive. I wish we had time to go back again.

Only had two dishes for sharing here. One was grilled barramundi with salad and chips. The other was garlic pesto pizza. The pizza was lovely. It was thin and crunchy. The size was small, $19. It was enough for 2 of us, even 3. Having only 3 hours hike with plenty of snacks, we weren’t really hungry. The Barra was grilled nicely, the chips was crunchy and tasty, so did the salad. $41 a plate. I had Turkish coffee here, $5, which was quite similar to other Asian’s coffee, the coffee ground on the base of your cup. Just be careful not to sip it down to the bottom. Taste wise, not much of my liking. Ambiance was chill and relaxing with indoor and outdoor seats. The restaurant has huge selection of wines and also cocktails. Would love to try one day.

We booked because they let us bring our dog to dinner. There was an outdoor gas heater and they made us feel as comfortable as possible on a mid-winter windy night. The service was warm and professional and the food arrived quickly (even though it was a busy Friday night). My creamy fettuccine with prawns was excellent. My wife's creamy vegetable fettuccine was just OK. The kids love their vegetarian pizza. They are licenced but not BYO. A warm, stylish and welcoming restaurant on a chilly Leura night.

Good food , service and ambience. Had a few amazing cocktails and pork ribs were so tender and it was truly falling off the bones. Had my first hot cocktail from here(Roasted pear and Rhubarb today)

Fantastic food & great service from Tony & his team. We had a few entrees, the pizza is really great for such a small kitchen. The mixed grill is a stand out, great Grilled meats and good value as it's a large dish. The cocktails & wine list are extensive also. Would highly recommend to anyone! Thanks guys!

Very enjoyable evening with friends. Really nice relaxing atmosphere. Food was great, but then we had Dessert. OMG! What a great finish to an enjoyable evening.

Fantastic service and possibly the best pizza in the mountains! We ordered pizza for pickup as we were staying down the road in Wentworth. When I called, the guy answering said they were really busy with lots of orders, and that he'd put my two pizzas in ahead. 30 minutes later, I'm driving back with delicious pizza! Not surprised to hear they had a lot of orders, when I went in to pickup my order the place was packed. I'm keen to eat in-house next time I'm in the mountains. We ordered the Polar Bear and Of Leura pizzas - both amazing!

I loved that the owner of the restaurant is friendly and welcoming. He was able to guide me with my food preferences and I thoroughly enjoyed the GF VG mud cake. And he was kind to share with me the secret ingredient.

Great food, prompt and friendly service, we were there on a warm day so it wasn’t air conditioned which was why we left shortly after our meal. I recommend reading their terms and conditions because they require a $25 per person deposit if you book a table, cancellation less than 24 hours you lose your money, risky if you are booking for a group. However if you walk in and they have availability no risk involved, which is what we did .

Not sure what the negative reviews are about - maybe I just got lucky! Food was excellent, I had a the chicken shish (flavourful and tender) and my mum had the barramundi (perfectly cooked). Service was prompt and polite. Cocktails were nicely presented too!

We had a lovely time at Polar Bear- definitely the best food we had whilst in the Blue Mountains and a lovely cocktail program. The staff were fantastic and very attentive despite it being a very busy night.

We've eaten here most times we been up the mountains, and have had a wonderful experience every time.
Food choices will be catered to, so long as you let them know in advance, they a fully stocked bar (being a non drinker that's all I can add, other than my drinking friends seems to quite satisfied when they leave too). Nestled in side alley, perfect sport for this restaurant.
You do need to book, and there is now a booking fee attached, which is obviously refunded when all parties turn up. There are a few early siting and a few late sitting, and you need to be on time.

Food is simply awesome, got the mixed grill and roasted Veges which was tastefully done. The vine leaves starters is a must try. Restaurant had great ambience that matches the food, a rarity these days. Open on almost all-days, great work ethic

Such an amazing dining experience, I have lived in the blue mountains for 12 years and have never heard of the polar bear. I think this beautiful bar and restaurant should have more advertising. The food was amazing, the customer service was fantastic, they even went out of their way to make us a drink that weren't a classic or on their menu. 10/10 recommended places to dine or to just grab a drink.

What a great find from our welcome as we walked in the door to saying goodbye, we had a wonderful night out. Food was delicious and cocktails were fabulous. Service was amazing and so friendly.

Awesome place. Cosy with style. Pizzas were great. Pasta (mushroom) was good but average. Cocktails were definitely surprisingly good. Recommend Tony’s strawberry rose. Very reasonably priced good wine!
