We loved our meal on a warm Tuesday evening in the quiet, cool dining room at Ballarat Indian Restaurant in Golden Point near Sovereign Hill. Lovely friendly service. Given water and papadum while we decided on our order. Methi Chicken and Eggplant curry were delicious. Plenty of off street parking behind the restaurant via the drive way

Good service with a smile. Prompt delivery and a good atmosphere. A1 Naan. Super light and easy to mop up the good gravy. Well done all. Cheers

Great service, spacious interior, and above average cuisine. BYO wine only and reasonable prices. Forget about these fake competitor's one star reviews, they are just jealous flogs trying to ruin a hardworking business. We come from Melbourne's South East and are spoilt by great Indian cuisine but when in Ballarat, which is twice yearly, this is our comfort food stop.

I am giving 5 stars so you guys maintain your rating. But the food was not good to be very honest. Keema mutter has no taste. What about Chicken Jalfrezi? No authenticity at all, didn’t taste like it. Only Mixed Grill and Lamb Cutlets was good but Can you please avoid food colors? Please!!! Biryani was below average.
I wouldn’t say it recommended or not recommended but guys you need huge improvement. HUGE!!!!

One of the best Indian restaurants I have experienced outside of the major cities and especially considering that this restaurant is not in a central location. But oh boy, I was rewarded for that (not very long) drive! Especially the paneer palak was among the very best I have ever tried. The fish curry was also tasty, although I reckon that some cheaper fish was used for making it. Service was slightly on the slow side considering the not very high number of clients present but still good.

Excellent value for tasty food! The service was fast and friendly, and the single large curry was more than enough to serve two adults. We will be back!

it was a very cold day and we were served by hot food really quickly with amazing portion and taste curries and naan !! garlic naan was really good esp if you are a big garlic fan, $60-70 feed four adults and honestly one of the best indian food place i ever had. the owner and staff are super nice with big smile and very appreciative. highly recommend if you are in the area !!!

i also saw some bad reviews after having this place and leaving the comments above , not sure about why but i guess maybe is not authethic enough ? as some people commented the briyani is not briyani cos is just rice with sauce but me and my family enjoyed it and the whole dining experience was really good to us !!

Absolutely delicious food and service.

We randomly popped in this restaurant, and honestly food was delicious and finger licking. It was sizzling hot. Served in 10-15 minutes which is very rare for indian food to be ready in such short time. we ordered daal makhni with garlic naan which was 5 star. Biryani and tandoori platter was good too. We pretty sure coming back for daal makhni. Excellent service by yuvi. Very happy.

Amazing staff and atmosphere.

I ordered a combo meal for one person. It was more than enough for a single person. Meal included a kashmiri style lamb curry, plain rice(basmati) , plain naan, two papad, one veg samoss, two kinds of chutney, raita and coke. The curry was really good.

Our 'old favourite ' Indian restaurant really went down in quality and up in price.
We looked for a replacement????? WE FOUND IT!!!! BALLARAT INDIAN RESTAURANT.
Ambience, warmth, authentic mood music and greeting got off wonderfully.
THE FOOD: I love Samosa Chat ( sp?).... OMG.... this was tastiest I've ever had.
Main courses and cheesy garlic naan breads left us FULL and astonished at how delicious it all was.
The Service was fantastic and very friendly, ensuring we were content.
The prices are very fair.
Our new favourite has been born.

The setting was fabulous, the food was great, and the service was extremely kind and helpful.
