Harry Limes Restaurant

As a local I have been busting to go to this restaurant. I booked, and finally the day arrived. (Mid week)
The staff were excited to have us, but this meant they chatted for more than 20mins, before we got a drink . The decor is upmarket, the service superb (albeit a little too chatty) and the food was great.
There were only 6 oysters left, so we ordered them, and the scallops were tiny, but not rubbery. We both ordered steak, and the veggies in the mould was creamy and delicious!) - but odd. Steak cooked to perfection (blue). It is quite pricey but we couldn’t fault it!

Would love to go back and try the Asian menu, as I think that would be very tasty!

Lunch on Australia Day 🇦🇺 😋 was yum!
This restaurant was not busy, but it is lovely. I was surprised it was open on a public holiday.

The decor was linen tablecloths and white paper. The tables were nicely set, and our host was very attentive!
As it was not busy, he was up for a chat, which was great.

The food at lunch was delicious!
A mix of Vietnamese and English fare to choose from. I had a chicken and mushroom crepe, whilst others on our table had PHO, which they said was fabulous! The seven roses was also a hit ( prawn dumplings).

Well presented, tasty, and hot! Everyone was pleased with their meals on our table of 6.

Local wines were available. No public holiday surcharge.
We will return.

Steak lovers - these guys actually know how to cook a rare steak!! You will not have to worry about overdone steak if you eat here. My husband thinks the filet Mignon here was better than the dedicated steakhouse restaurants nearby - now that’s saying something.

The Peking duck is to die for also. Very tender and delicious with perfect sauce. The vegetable mousse on the side was a delicious novelty I very much enjoyed. The entrees are next level good too.

My husband and I lucked out by booking on a night with no other patrons, so we got the pleasure of the delightful and welcoming conversation of the owner.

Would definitely go back again, I would recommend Harry Limes to anyone who likes good quality food cooked with care.

We had a fabulous meal at Harry Limes. The service was friendly and very helpful. The food was delicious! Very generous portions. Very very tasty! Definitely worth supporting. I want to go back and eat my way through the menu!!

The food at this place was nothing short of excellent. I was a bit worried when i saw the price but the quality and taste justify it. The service was lovely and the vibes were great. I went here with my fiancé and we are from interstate and will happily return if we are ever back in the 'rat 🐀

The Atlantic salmon and barramundi, was so delicate and so soft it was just pure yum in every bite I took there is no words that could explain how yummy this fish was it’s just amazing it was presented so beautifully

Double scoop ice cream
Chocolate pudding

Honestly, these deserts were amazing the flavours alone, I just delicious
Everything looks so beautiful and well presented

We 4 people had a very good experience here. The first thing is that the layout here is luxurious but the price is affordable. I really like braised beef and pho, very delicious. Very good service.
We will come back here if we have a chance to visit Ballarat next vacation.

everything about harry limes was perfect, from the service and atmosphere to the food. this was seriously some of the best food i have ever had the pleasure of eating and couldn’t recommend it enough. do yourself a favour and try them!!! :)

We have had many celebrations & meals at Harry limes over the past 6 years.The service has always been spot on & the food is scrumptiously good.The menu has a good variety of dishes and I just love the white rose dumplings.
They go above & beyond to please & even in covid their takeaway service has been absolutely delicious.If you love Vietnamese you can’t go past Harry Limes run by a Vietnamese family.

Lovely food in a great atmosphere. Delightful staff, went out of their way to make sure our dinner was one to remember.

The Carbonara is by far the best in town!

The decor was elegant, sophisticated, and warm. Atmosphere was pleasant. Lovely music. Service was impeccable. Friendly and efficient. Food was divine. The scallops were delicate with layers of flavour that explode in your mouth. The calamari coating was perfect in flavour and texture. Sauce delicious. Salad with perfect dressing and croutons that were light and crunchy and full of flavour rather than tasteless rocks. The crumbed camembert was of excellent quality but partnered perfectly with the decadent sauce. The level of presentation was right up there especially with the pork belly dish. My son not usually impressed with vegetables had to finish every last mouth full. The sauce with the pork belly was perfection apparently. Sticky date is often dry with the caramel sauce compensating. But the cake/pudding was moist and full of flavour. Ice cream and cream were of high quality also. With a restaurant like this portions are usually of a very small size. We were both pleasantly surprised with the generous servings. Told my son he needs to experience these high end classy restaurants occasionally. Thank you for proving me right. Not a cheap restaurant but you get what you pay for sometimes. Been a long time since I had such a quality experience. You can usually fault a restaurant with something. Such as service, food, decor, or atmosphere. But I could not find one fault. Probably not a restaurant to take smaller children to, but definitely an older child to broaden their horizon. Thank you for this experience I shared with my son.

Had an amazing meal there with the family. The steak was cooked perfectly. We had prawns wrapped in potato, salt n pepper squid, scallops and filet mignon steak.
The service was outstanding and even got a creme brulee on the house for my birthday.
Will definitely be going back.

We were strolling Ballarat town centre while showing my cousin from overseas around when we found Harry Limes. Not a lot of restaurants were open on that day, we were glad this one was.
The owner looked after us very well! The restaurant was clean and cosy, the food was great and the serving was generous.
Going to the bathrooms, you have to pass through their kitchen, it was very clean and fresh smelling. I believe we found one of the gems in Ballarat. Highly recommended.

My partner and I had the most incredible dinner at Harry Limes. The owner was super friendly and personable. And the food, oh my gosh! Amazing!!! So delicious, one of the best meals we have had in a long time. The garlic prawns were delectable and my partners duck was full of flavours and melted in his mouth. We will definitely be back to visit this treasure again. Highly recommend!

The four of us had Sunday lunch and it was very special. We each had a different main dish, fillet steak, duck, Salmon and garlic prawns. All the food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The service from our host was attentive and spot on with everything. Wow and I thought a recent two hat chef was good. This restaurant is a treasure and right here In Ballarat.
