This hotel is amazing. We loved everything about it. The service, the location, the building and its design. It's clean and quiet, and we loved the moody lighting. Our room was just perfect. Perfect size, loved the balcony, loved all the goodies in the bar fridge and the food drawer, loved the furnishings and the bathroom was also great. The bed was the cherry on the cake. My husband and I both agreed that it was the most comfortable bed away from home that we've ever stayed in. We want one at home.
We love visiting Hobart, but the Moss Hotel made our holiday even more wonderful.
We will definitely be staying at Moss Hotel again on our next visit, and we will be telling all our family and friends about it.
Thank you Moss Hotel Team for making our Hobart holiday extra special.

The Moss Hotel was a great stay all around.
The location is perfect, opening right onto Salamanca.
We actually came down to Hobart for a day surgery and when we asked about parking and an early check-in due to this, the staff were exceptionally kind and accomodating, even providing us with an unexpected parking spot right at the entrance to the front door.
The room itself was beautiful, quiet, comfortable and cosy with it’s mood lighting.
Will absolutely be back!

Stayed in a balcony room in December for the Taste Festival. Lovely design, great bathroom and minibar products, good aircon, super comfy bed. Note that the bathroom has a frosted glass door, something to keep in mind if you prefer a more private bathroom.

The location is excellent. A little noisy at times and some smells from the restaurant vents nearby when you're on the balcony but that's part of being in a busy location. Honestly, my room felt like a calm oasis in the middle of the bustling waterfront.

The staff were also lovely and service was great. I'll stay here again next time I'm in Hobart.

Lovely hotel! We stayed in a loft room at the 25 building and loved the stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and the interior of the hotel really made us feel the mix of nature in the city. Awesome location, walking distance to lots of great restaurants, cafes and the harbour.

After searching for accommodation due to accidentally booking our Bruny Island hotel for the wrong day, we came to this stop as a last minute request.

Even on this note, our room was at a luxury quality, with a large bathroom, drinks mini fridge, fresh ventilation system, adequate lighting, and comfortable beds.

Staff at the front desk were the best I’ve ever experienced in Australia, even offering free parking and recommending a wide variety of restaurants.

Stay Mossy!😀😉

We loved our stay at Moss St hotel. I spend many many hours when I’m booking a vacation to have a great experience and I’m so glad we booked here. We stayed in a pod room which was surprisingly quite spacious. I loved all the high-end fixtures within the room and alchemist toiletries. The hotel is a perfect blend of character/industrial with modern fixtures. Salamanca is at your doorstep. We had no issues with noise at all.

What a little gem in the heart of Salamanca place is this hotel. You couldn’t get a more perfect position. And oh my goodness the rooms are fabulously decorated to the highest standard. ( My room was like an upmarket ski chalet). The pillows and bed divinely comfortable, the shower superb and I loved the finishing touches such as a hand written welcoming note on my bed. They kindly minded my luggage before and after checkin and the thick early 18th century walls ensured a quiet environment. Enjoy a bit of original Hobart town in the historic boutique hotel.

Big thank you to Sheila who assisted us with our check in, she went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with our room. Her kind service has been a wonderful start to our staycation, she is an asset to the team! ♥

Not your average hotel, but that's what we liked the most. The most comfortable beds we had on our 12 day trip around Tasmania. Service was second to none. Location is fantastic, if you are visiting the markets - right at the front door. Lots of dinner and breakfast options nearby. We had a balcony room, which was fabulous. You can hear the pub music late at night but only just - it did not disturb our sleep at all. Will recommend to anyone when visiting Hobart.

Moss 25 - 3 star hotel. Baah humbug. Room 13 in which we stayed was one of the nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in for a long time. Full of character from the sandstone feature walls to the high exposed rafters above you. Not to mention the location. You step right out onto Salamanca Street and into the heart of it all. 5 min walk to everything. Great spot for the Saturday Salamanca markets. Or was it?. Spent way too much as it was an easy pop back to the room to offload 😉.
If you are thinking of staying in Hobart then don't miss out on this gem.

Beautiful, clean and very comfortable rooms. The staff were friendly and very professional. The location was great; literally walked out the door an into the Salamanca district with great restaurants/bars etc. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location with lots of charm. The room and interiors are some of the best designed and appointed I've seen with a very comfortable bed and beautiful bathroom with a heated floor. The mini bar is well stocked with some great local produce, the selection of movies on the in-room tv is broad and they're all free to watch. The hotel is very well located too with all of Hobart's waterfront within walking distance and lots of amenities nearby. Parking is also pretty easy in the surrounding streets, but the hotel will set you up with a car spot in a car park 2 mins away for $20 per day. A beautiful hotel and great place to stay for couples and business travellers too.

The staff are super friendly & accommodating. My husband and I arrived a day early as I mixed up the booking and Moss Hotel were a dream, arranging another room, switching the book & car space and making sure we got to the other hotel by walking us down (with the two locations). Really comfy rooms & right in the heart of Salamanca, we will definitely be back.

Very nice hotel. Generously sized and stylish rooms. Apples on the nightstands is a lovely touch. The mini bar prices are great although maybe a bigger selection would be good. The heated tiled floor in the bathroom is great but the beautiful tiles are let down by poor workmanship with many cracked, loose and grout missing - I only mention this as it will need to be addressed to keep the room to a high standard.

Located right in the heart of Salamanca but hidden away makes this one night stay we had in Hobart really amazing! Stayed in Moss 25, the decor was beautifully styled with its deep dark moody tones of green as soon as you walked in. The staff were lovely and friendly. The room we had was ‘The Pod’ which had all the amenities we needed and the bathrooms were spectacular. Our room was definitely for couples with the frosted glass that you could see the image of whoever was in the bathroom. Not for taking colleagues. The moss garden outside our window does needs to be brought back to life. Overall our stay was beautiful and would definitely recommend!

Just returned from a weekend at the moss - sublime! Super soft bed and carpet and the finishings are superb. The location could not be faulted.
I was worried after seeing another review about noise but hardly a factor - I heard some doors close and some early morning set up of the markers but honestly this is a character hotel and isn't soundproof! I'd return in a heartbeat

Just finished our 3 night stay at Miss hotel and loved it!
Gorgeous room and bathroom, loved our little balcony overlooking Salamanca place and so quite!
The room had so many thoughtful little inclusions and we really appreciated it!

So quiet, perfect location, with a mix of old and new that made the stay a delight!

A beautiful stay. We had the pleasure of spending 2 nights at Moss 25 at #51.

The view we had over Salamanca and the waters is lovely.

The bathroom… wow so pretty! The monsoon style shower head - MUST HAVE IN MY HOME IMMEDIATELY. The grown alchemist stuff is now in my iconic shopping cart ready to buy next payday!

The location is also a massive bonus. Within walking distance to everything we had plotted down to view, eat and drink at.

A half star off for a few things: heated floors didn’t work, a screaming toddler and a newborn can be heard directly below us (but only if they are fully screaming or from what we heard, the toddy wanted to watch YouTube at 6:30am).

Thank you for having us, team MOSS!

This is such a quirky hotel and we loved it! I have given 5 stars because it met our expectations however it is not a 5 star property (not that it claims to be I just wanted to be clear). The modern/new building encompasses the historic building with beautiful exposed beams and rooflines. Our room had the sloping roof and exposed brick which we loved, and the bathroom was on the smaller size but worked perfectly. The location was brilliant as one of the doors opens onto the bar/restaurant district at Salamanca. There is parking available close by for $20 which is well worth it in this area. You have to book your parking in advance. Will definitely stay again.
