There is nothing about this hotel that is not world standard. The Story theme is remarkable in itself, sharing wonderful stories of Hobart and Tasmania.
The staff are truly welcoming and accommodating. Every time we stay we feel.we are being welcomed back by friends. Terrific location overlooking Constitution Dock. Very close to heaps of great bars and restaurants. Also there is very easy access to city centre. Already looking forward to going back.

Perfect stay in Hobart. Amazing relaxing water views. Close walking distance to everything - including Salamanca markets and ferry to Mona. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. In particular Lucy - so nice and organized a harder mattress for us. Lady who checked us in kindly gave us some bubbles while we waited for room to get ready. Thank you team for making our stay just divine.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the room was a good size, we got one of the larger rooms. All the staff were very friendly. Lovely decor and great location right on the Wharf. Will definitely stay here again and try more of the restaurants on the ground floor.

Amazing hotel!! Such a cool concept, feels like you’re in an interactive museum rather than a hotel. Rooms were large, very clean, and posh. Location is exactly where you want to be in Melbourne and the water views are stunning. Also has laundry services you can use for free

Exceptional Stay at MACq 01 Hotel, Hobart

My experience at MACq 01 Hotel in Hobart was truly five-star. The hotel's prime location allowed easy access to the city's best attractions. The bars and restaurants within the hotel were top-notch, offering a delightful culinary journey. The rooms were beautifully appointed, ensuring a comfortable and luxurious stay. What stood out most was the exceptional service; the staff were attentive and friendly, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The complimentary valet parking was a convenient perk. The hotel's unique connection to history, with its fascinating stories and artefacts, added an enriching dimension to our visit. I highly recommend MACq 01 Hotel for an unforgettable Hobart experience.

FABULOUS !!

Can’t praise this wonderful hotel strongly enough. It’s just fabulous. My hubby & I stayed for what was originally going to be 2 nights in a Waterfront Terrace Room, but when our plans changed slightly, we added an additional 2 nights. For these extra 2 nights, due to costs, we booked a Superior Room which still had water views , but Management kindly upgraded that room allowing us to spend all 4 nights in the Waterfront Terrace. So, right from the get go, they were already ticking boxes with us, but, seriously, this hotel ticks boxes all by itself. It’s location right on the waterfront is a massive winner & when hubby & I took a stroll into the city, we realised how lucky & grateful we were to be staying on the waterfront. The room itself was spacious, well appointed, & the huge terrace balcony puts you right there in this fisherman’s heaven, with views to die for right up to the CBD & Mt Wellington in the distance. The included breakfast was fabulous, & other areas like the lounge are great for a relaxing drink, although it can get a little noisy at times. The lifts have an interesting soft voiceover from convict times, which provide a connection to the past, as does large plaques of different convicts that adorn the front doors of each guest room . The tariff is good value for money especially if you travel outside of peak periods like Easter & school holidays. There were a couple a small hiccups like one of the included breakfasts being mistakenly charged to us, but this was immediately rectified upon checkout. Overall, we had a truly wonderful stay at Macq01 & I certainly recommend it on every level.

An amazing experience! We had a great first three nights there then set off to go to a different part of TAS, our AirBnb was so disappointing we decided to try and do what we could to go back to the MACq1 for my partner’s birthday. They were so lovely and accomodating, writing a birthday card, giving us some lovely bubbles and chocolate and even a free upgrade as they knew what we had been through. There was a lovely lady whose name I have forgotten (I’m sorry hopefully you know who you are!) who helped us with our last minute accomodation made our trip, thank you!

Would recommend anyone visiting Hobart to stay here and the water view is so worth it :)

Without doubt the best hotel in Hobart, and if I’m honest, one of my favourite hotels anywhere in the world. The rooms are exactly what you need, with everything exactly where you need it. Decor is beautiful and the splashes of Tassie history throughout is great. Restaurant is first class. Location great. Views amazing.

Honestly, just bankrupt yourself and stay here your whole trip.

We LOVED this hotel. From the moment we got to reception everything was fantastic.

We travelled from the GC to Hobart with our 5 month old for our 2 year anniversary. We were met by the lovely Lucy at reception who gave us an upgrade due to it being a special occasion (honestly could have cried).

Our room (water view king) was beautiful and the portercot was set up with fresh linen/ towels etc. We also found a hand written card and gift. Such a beautiful touch, I wish I’d taken a photo of it.

We loved the story the hotel tells, we went walking reading all the doors through our floor. It was a wonderful experience.

I’ll tell everyone who will listen to me about how lovely this hotel is. We only stayed one night opting for a different more “family friendly” room which we completely regretted the rest of the trip because Macq1 was absolutely baby friendly.

We will 100% be back and we cannot wait!

Great hotel. Book the superior waterfront rooms, with beautiful views over the harbour. The rooms are spacious and bathrooms well designed. Each room has an individual story attached to it. The Old Wharf restaurant is excellent too.

MACQ 01 is probably the best hotel my son and I have stayed in. From the initial booking right through to our departure the staff were absolutely amazing.very attentive and friendly. From the front desk through to the restaurants we can not fault any of our interactions. The food in the restaurant was delicious and we indulged in the infamous MACQ 01 breakfast - even when we were no longer staying at the hotel. A particular mention of Louise (I think) from the front desk who went above and beyond in researching some products for us. Thank you Team for a memorable stay. We will certainly be staying with you longer on our next trip to Tasmania.

Wow that was beautiful meal we went out for our 45 wedding anniversary free glass of wine each but topped off with the meal then dessert sticky date pudding omg lucky we shared it couldn't get all through the dessert we are going to go back with the grown family just beautiful ❤❤

We had a great stay. Room overlooked the water and was amazing. We had the opportunity to have 2 tours which is part of the stay. The tour guides were very knowledgeable

I love this hotel! The room was so cute and well appointed with everything we could have possibly wanted (fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, robes, slippers, etc). The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. It’s a great location too, right on the water and walkable to some really nice things in Hobart (sailing, downtown restaurant area, and their amazing botanical garden is just 25 mins walk). The gym has a decent selection of weights, 2 treadmills, 2 bikes, ellipticals, a rowing machine, a cable machine. And there is a small laundry room upstairs right next to the gym which was so convenient. I would love to stay here again.

Very good hotel in Hobart. Loved the storytellers concept. The storytellers tour was fun! Food was amazing, rooms very big and clean, beds big and comfortable. Everything was perfect. Absolutely 5stars!

Love this place and would definitely stay again. Great rooms with comfortable beds, friendly service, and awesome location. The upgrade to a waterfront room was a bonus. We missed out on enjoying the outdoor bars but it’s in the plan next time. Great restaurants in the complex too. Highly recommend The Frogmore Lounge.

The themeing, free activities and facilities far out shine other hotels I've stayed at. This is definitely up there with one of the best hotels I've stayed at, and I travel a lot for work.
