This is such a great place to stay if you’re looking for some chill time in Himara with the ability to meet new people. Spiros and the rest of the family that run this hostel are so lovely and hospitable, they make you feel like you are honoured guest at someone’s house. It’s a relatively small hostel but with the main sitting area right out the front of the hostel there is no way you won’t be able to get to know everyone who is staying there. My partner and I stayed in the private room (it is available if you message them via WhatsApp, €30 a night) for 6 nights and loved it. Such a great hostel!

Pros
- Great price!
- Good free breakfast every morning made by Spiro’s mum
- Clean! Very clean bathrooms
- Good priced laundry €4, for all of me and my partners washing
- Great recommendations
- Nice, social hangout space
- Very responsive via WhatsApp
- Great location right on the main beach!

Cons
- Bedrooms don’t have windows (this is mentioned online)
- Kitchen is very small, can cook basic meals but might be challenging (also mentioned online)

Definitely would stay again!!

Himara downtown hostel is the perfect place to see Himara and meet some very cool people. The family (that runs this) and the volunteers are all helpful and amazing. The private room was good and the entire hostel was cleaned everyday. The daily breakfast was delicious too. The hostel has a very chill vibe… we’d play card games every night and hang out during the day watching crazy movies or on the beach. The location is very close to the main beach, restaurants, and other grocery stores.

A small hostel with a lovely environment and a great place to socialise. The location is perfect as it’s right near the beach, as well as several shops and restaurants. The staff and owner are lovely and helped me enjoy my stay to the full. I would recommend this hostel to anyone going to Himara and looking to fully enjoy the experience.

I spent in this hostel one month. The vibe was so great that I kept on extending my stay. Kasandra was a fantastic host. She made sure you know all the tips, she was devoted to make sure everyone feels good. She is social for those that need socialising and respects space of those, who want to have more intimate time. She plays great music giving the hostel its unique, authentic vibe. Moreover, she is relaxed, funny and easy going. The place itself met all the criteria and the prices are very affordable. Just one minute walk from one of my favourite beaches in Albania.

Himare downtown was one of my favourite hostels I stayed in. Super homely and lovely atmosphere I stayed way longer than I originally planned. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the volunteers made sure everyone was included ❤

The hosts make this a homely place: they are well organized and keep everything tidy. Three bathrooms/showers help not to get in each other’s way even when it’s fully booked. They cook a very lovely breakfast, and will help you any way they can.

Best Hostel i have ever been. Lovely stuff (family business), amazing handmade breakfast and directly at the beach. If you want to feel home go to this hostel ☀😊🫶

Cassandra and her mother were very welcoming and kind to me throughout my stay! Mama cooks a tasty breakfast sweetly served on a tray, and there are social areas out front which make it easy to meet fellow travellers. The hostel is in an ideal location - Cassandra also knows some great card games so make sure you ask to play Kaboo while you're there :)

I had my best stay in Albania in this hostel! Immaculately clean, directly at the beach, delicious breakfast. What makes this hostel really special though is the family feel. The manager, Kasandra, is incredibly kind and accommodating. She’s a warm and loving presence, always willing to go the extra mile to make people feel welcome. She taught me and other guests her favourite card game, which we played late into the night. She lent me beach umbrellas, beach towels - free of charge. She offered me coffee throughout the day. I can’t wait to come back !!

Had the most fun here. Kassandra and her mother will make you feel right at home ~~~

Breakfast was always the most exciting part of the day. Smaller hostel so it’s more intimate, you really get to know everyone. Hope to be back next summer !

We stayed at this family-run hostel for a week and we had a really nice stay. The place is really cozy and super clean. Kasandra has been super nice, she was always really helpful and made us feel really comfortable. The location of the hostel is also ideal, really close to the beach, restaurants and markets. Really recommend it!

Excellent little hostel in a fantastic location in Himarë.

Comfortable beds with AC. Breakfast is carefully prepared each morning, and is different every day. Staff are kind and helpful.

Has AC which is amazing in summer.

This was the nicest hostel I stayed at in Albania.

I came here in September in the wake of tourist season and Covid. I was the only guest along with a volunteer, but Kasandra was extremely hospitable.

The hostel is very small in terms of dorms, but with that has a good indoor/outdoor common space and feels a lot more intimate than most hostels in a positive way.

Granted I was the only guest, but the internet was the fastest I’ve had in Albania at 25 mbps, and I was able to Zoom with no trouble.

The location is central to the promenade, and you can easily walk to local restaurants and the beach.

THEY HAVE GOOD AIR CONDITIONING!

Kasandra was also gracious with allowing me a late checkout to take my online classes, etc.

Only thing that would make this better would be small touches like a shower caddy/shelf, and the ability to flush toilet paper (which I think is beyond the Hostel’s help due to plumbing).

But the hospitality here is real, and if you’re in Himare, this is the place to stay.

The family which operates this hostel are very nice people. They went out of their way to help me with the repairs I needed even though I was just passing by and not planning to stay. I ended up returning and staying. The rooms and common areas are well kept, very clean and cozy. Breakfasts had appealing presentation and the food was healthy with daily variety of fresh fruit and other items. The beach is just steps away and beach towels were provided. Great experience overall!

Before I get to the point, I will share a small story:

It was a day my girlfriend couldn't swim 😂👙 well you know, we decided to stay at the hostel for that day.
So it began in the morning, I did my routine in one of the 2 bathrooms.
I had a breakfast in the morning with salt and sweet included, two cups milk and a friend from Netherlands and two from Argentinia joined me.
The sunny day we had cocktails, staying in the shadow of the ambient terrace, all of this while closing a client on my laptop.
The lunch was excelent as the hostel had a small kitchen, even so we also where able to buy all we need in a 200 feet away.
We had music, we had guitar, we had fun, and then the night begun. Lots of beer, friends from Swiss, a couple of cards and people started to loose their way on the streets :D Trying to join our party.
Sadly we had to leave the following day, but this was after we sleept in room with AC.
So the point of the story is, if not the host, it would be just another boring day at another bring hostel, but not this one, thanks to the hostess Kasandra :)

This is for my friend Kasandra :D I definitely wish I could visit your hostel hopefully again.

I wish any of you could be able to visit that party :D

Staying here makes you feel like home, and at the same time immerse into the culture. Family hostel with chill people and very kind owners already ready to help. More than just staying at a hostel you feel like you’re staying with a family. Best place we stayed and we would have stayed here for months. The breakfast is very very good and filling for free .The hostel is too clean and very comfortable .
10/10 would recommend.

Great place! I came for one night, extended to 3, and ended up volunteering here - first time doing that and only because their cleanliness standards are as high as mine :D It's very clean and laid back, and it's about a minute from the beach.

On top of that the owner and his family are superbly nice people (both as hosts and as colleagues). The only downside can be that it can get warm in the rooms at night, but the owner's working to fix that (this is only his 3rd summer and I trust that all will be nice and cool soon).
