Woodstock Beach Camp

The rooms are not the best but the place is peaceful and I slept really well. You have the bar by the beach crossing the road. The breakfast is super yummy. Try the omelet with tomato and onion. The people who’s volunteering and working are super kind and helpful. The people make the place. Also if you like party the have psytrance by the beach Friday or Saturday. Good swimming pool. I met really friendly and kind people there. I highly recommend it.

I had a really good stay here! Amazing place. Beach with amazing view is just over the road. Staff were really friendly and helpful, we got scooters from them, they helped us with boat tour and bus tickets! I really recommend this place!

I really enjoyed my stay here. Hands down one of the best accommodations on Cat Ba Island. The vibe was great. Music until 9 and a bar across the road for night life. Common areas were very cool, but unfortunately they were not kept clean. Beach a few meters away. Not an incredibly nice beach, but the backdrop more than makes up for the poor quality sand. Prices are reasonable considering the proximity to town. No air conditioning, but our group didn't find this to be a negative in late November. Overall - great place but the staff and cleanliness could be improved upon.

Definitely one of the more memorable places to stay for the night in Vietnam. We stayed in the tent - mats inside were comfy, blankets very warm and clean. Food for breakfast was tasty. The only trouble is the access road which is just being built so it was a bit dusty... it's not the problem of Woodstock though, therefore I'm giving them 5 stars. They also seem to be looking for volunteers as staff (for at least one month) so it might be a nice place to stay a bit longer.

Best hostel in all of Vietnam if you want a really chill place with nice chill people. It is a bit hippie which some people might not enjoy but I really liked it. The food is good, the prices are alright and the location is excellent right by the beach. Perfect place to read a book in one of the hammocks

Slept on the balcony, overlooking the parking lot and ocean. Woke up each morning with the rest of the beach camp, over coffee, shared stories and experiences. The fire dancing was beautiful, friends were happy to share their skills and toys. We played games all day and laid in the sunshine at the beach. The festival was great, musicians were talented and well rounded. I ended up staying for 11 days, and wouldn't trade a moment. Cat Ba is the perfect escape from the big city life in Hanoi. The National Park is great as well.

Very friendly staff and relaxed vibe. We slept in a tent on the beach and wasn't too dirty. Be sure to bring water shoes when swimming in low tide because of rocks. If the beach is too dirty then you can always pick up some trash and be rewarded with a beer. There is a bar on the beach with music till about 11. Was better than expected so 5 stars. Would go here again

The staff here is amazing!!! Super friendly, down to earth, and caring people. Awesome tab system so you don't have to carry around cash. Excellent food, chill atmosphere, good times. If you are coming to Cat Ba Island, definitely stay here.

A great experience. Very fun people. A homey atmosphere. The price range is quite big, from 60k to 200k (your choice of accommodation). The food is ok, pretty good and priced correctly (not the best or cheapest but good).
They have a boat trip, bike rental, bar and laundry.
If you come here then the people are the best thing about this place.

Off the strip so it's quiet. They have their own beach without a horrible view of nearby hotels. Staff speaks English well. It is hard to get to and from late at night, so plan accordingly. Also, top knots everywhere. But at least they have hammocks.

Fyi I visited in December 2019. Great place! It was a little outside of town, but worth it for some relaxing and a pratically empty beach. They were also super helpful and accomodating. Good tour for Halong Bay (monkey island is no f'in joke btw). The food was good (fruit plate, pancakes, and spring rolls are suggestions). They have beer but not much else , but there is a small family owned store down the road for a few things (they were so nice and I love them!). They also have some flow toys for practice and a couple nice dogs to hang with. Truthfully, I wish I was back there right now.

This place is so chill, perfect to disconnect and relax.
Can rent a motobike to visit the island, there is visit of the National park, a "family dinner" with guest and staff around the big table.
You sleep on a mattress in front of the beach, just a dream... After spending the day around or the afternoon on the beach, you can lay in one of the many hammock
I booked with them a day trip to the the bay it was awesome, I totally recommend!

Went there for Xmas Eve live music scene. Loved every bit of it. Such a happy vibe, warmth everywhere. The band playing was amazing..they play in Mona restaurant. Also, a restaurant is next to Woodstock..a family serves super delicious home food there. Do check it out.

I had so much fun here, sit down dinner at 630 is a must, amazing food, great traveller staff who love their job, they create the best atmosphere of any hostel, bonfire on the beach, only downside is you are 6 euros for basic facilities, fun boat tour.. there's no better place to stay on cat ba! Thanks a lot guys

Amazing location with authentic people. If you are someone like some of the other reviewers on here that complain about not having A/C and generally can't adjust fully to what it's like to be in a different environment and culture (aka needing to live more like you're used to/being a tourist than trying to experience something closer to local life), this place is not for you. But if you are a relaxed traveler looking to meet other likeminded individuals and have an amazing, outside-the-city experience, you can't find a better spot. Everyone who stays here and works here is absolutely lovely, and it's an experience you'll never forget. They are beyond helpful in making sure you get to fully appreciate your time on Cat Ba. Do the tour of the bay!

Both Beach Camp & Jungle Camp have amazing atmospheres and loads of stuff to do from music to macramé to slack-lining and everything in between!

Highly recommended. Nice location. Appreciable Hospitality. Inexpensive. Nice ambience like what we see in Hollywood films. Bike rentals are available. Both Beach Tents and rooms are there.

One of the best places to stay in Vietnam. If you are looking for a relaxing laidback experience with like minded people, this is the place. Great entertainment and rustic feel. A nice place to get lost a bit.

Great place to stay and explore Cat Ba. Open minded vibe, very friendly staff, nice 'family dinner'. They manage to keep the beach clean (August '17) and enjoyable. Lovely outdoor shower near the beach dorm. Beach bar opens later at night.
We stayed in two private rooms with three kids and that was very comfortable, although for the 'sea view' you'll have to stretch in one of the hammocks in front of your room.

They offer a daytrip with canoe and snorkling, that is somewhat disappointing (no snorkling on 'unique coral reef', no 'deserted beach', check if that has improved or book other daytrip.
