Catba Buffalo Hostel

Had a very nice stay here. Nice clean hostel with a very good breakfast! They offer fun boat tours as well. The staff was so nice to me as well :) They remembered my name and helped me very good. Would stay here again!!

Terrific Hostel! We spent 5 days here over Christmas to explore the island and hike around. Somehow won a 2 day overnight cruise in Ha Long bay on Christmas Eve after sitting on some horseshoes. Very friendly staff, worthwhile free beer hour, and a hearty free breakfast buffet. What’s not to love.

The boat tour absolutely made this hostel! Great vibes. The staff were absolutely incredible! Especially T and the boat captain affectionately named handsome #1. The beds were super comfortable.

Downsides the WiFi was super bad. And there are way better places to eat on the island (check out yummy 1 and 2!) although the breakfast food was great.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. I left my passport there and they managed to get it to me in another city! The hostel itself is also pretty good.

Very nice hostel, free shots free beer hour and has a pool. Bit far from the town but you can rent scooters. They have a bus that brings you to and from the party/clubs at night. Nice rooms.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in during my visit to Vietnam.
Trung and Lon are absolute legends.
You can book a boat tour, cheap bike rental and great food and atmosphere.
Comfortable, modern and spacious rooms.
Near the town.
Pub crawls every night with a free shuttle to and from town.

Great hostel with nice people. Every night free beers for an hour and a pubcrawl to the city with a bus. Great spot to meet people in Cat Ba. Easy scooter rental to explore the rest of the area.

Great vibe to chill and relax. Rooms are cozy with attached bathroom and lockers for bag storage. They also have common washrooms, shower rooms and bag storage rooms.
They offer free breakfast. Every night they have multiple events offering free beers or shots, free bar hopping tour!
Food at the restaurant is amazing, must try their beef rice noodles and fried rice! They have vegetarian options as well
They also offer scooter rentals, cruise packages, intercity bus bookings at great prices

Very cool hostel. Staff are amazing. I had left cat ba to ninh binh from the hostel at 8am and had forgotten my jacket and other items, they promptely replied to my messages and sent my items on the next bus which I received later that same day. Thank you so much!

Love this hostel, such a cool vibe. Room was lovely and really nice bathroom!! Food was really good and free breakfast is pretty decent. The pool is amazing too. Only downside is the location as it’s not walkable distance to anywhere, but if you can drive a bike, no problem!!

Great people lovely bar staff really accommodating, flexible and helpful eith things to do and helping us have a wonderful experience. Recommend this to anyone looking for a good time on cat ba Island.

Free beer 1 hour from 7 - 8pm, good food, really nice room and really friendly staff, trung is the best bar tender!

Super hostel ! Pool, atmosphère and nice team ! Really helpfull and clean: they even sent me my shoes when i lost them!! The activities are cheaper than in other hostels !! Recommended ❤

Great experience here, sociable hostel with a nice vibe. Julia was very helpful helping with all our bookings.

We stayed in a private triple room.
It was lil bit smelly don't know why so had to keep the ac on every time.
Apart from this everything was just too good.

Full party vibes.
They have free unlimited beer every evening.
A good hostel overall.

Location is just away from all Hustle bustle.

Definitely a place to be on stay list when be in catba.
They have the cheapest bike in entire vietnam 😂🛵.

They also help in arranging other activities and trips and transfers. Its just they are slight expensive. Good for people who don't want to go here and there and bargain.

Hope to visit here again.

A very fun Hostel! Pretty big, but the rooms are nice and clean. They turn of the music at 10:30 pm every night, so you can get a good nights sleep if you don’t want to party. Vibes are amazing, the Happy Hour is great, you get free shots in the evening and they have a free shuttle to (and back from) a bar!
Food is very good, too. We had so much fun on the 1 day boat tour to ha long bay!
Definitely stay here if you plan on visiting Cat Ba.

Brilliant hostel with nice pool. I forgot one of my bags here and staff were really helpful and got it delivered to me on the next bus the following day.

Best hostel I did for the moment in the world.
Good food, funny place, piscine, clean room, many bathroom, elevator, very good staff... The trip in boat was high quality. If you travelling alone, it's the place to be. I get catch by the free beer but after you have a free shot in group. Well thanks I enjoyed and I recommend

I stayed in hanoi buffalo hostel and it was nice. Then i went to catba buffalo hostel and it was even better. The rooms are clean and big, and they have toilet and shower in each room. Each guest also has a safe in the room. The pool is clean and is comfortable. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. We also booked the boating trip and the ha giang loop tour with the catba buffalo hostel. The trips are great value and very fun. I recommend the hostel very much.

Great Place to stay, rest and meet new people.
Staff are exceptionally welcoming and cater to your every wish. From organising laundry to activities and travel to next destination, no request was too much.
The private en-suite rooms are very clean, complimentary bathroom accessories and air conditioned with a safe and mini bar.
On site bar with "happy water" hour! Restaurant with both vietnamese and western food.
Great location if you're a rider but, there are ferry services to and from the Island.
Beautiful scenic island with so much to discover.
