The Spice & Tea Exchange of Valparaiso

The Spice and Tea Exchange is a delightful place to sample (smell, or taste in the case of tea) both new and familiar spices, teas, and other dry staples.
Salt and pepper varients have their own sections along the with dozens of sugar varieties, teas, and more common spices.
The atmosphere is fantastic and I would spend many hours and dollars here if I had more of both.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the teas. The teas that they sell are all unique and very delicious. They have a tea of the day that you can get a free sample of. Their prices are a bit steep, but worth it for sure. They have other stuff too, but I mostly go for the tea

My favorite spice store in town. For those who like to cook and experiment with new spices this is the store for you. They have a great selection of teas. My personal favorites include pomegranate green tea and ginger berry citrus herbal tea. It's a fun store to go and explore. You will always find something new. So, what are you waiting for!

I love that I found this place and can't wait to try more seasonings from them. The tea is also just so amazing. I love the fact you can order any tea and they make it fresh right there for you. I got a few things on my first visit. One thing was the blood orange tea and it was absolutely amazing.

The person who helped us was so friendly & welcoming. I had been there before but was too shy to ask questions & my friend had never been, but did ask questions. We both enjoyed a freshly made tea to our liking & now that I understand how it works better, I'll be back. And I won't be afraid to ask questions next time. Lol

Great place to shop for yourself or pick up gifts. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the products are really top notch! Just picked up some pumpkin chai. 1000/10!

Excellent store. There are many hard to find spices here. They have blends of spices, sugars, teas, salts, rubs, peppers, honey and more! They also have custom blends. If you need it, they have it! The staff is always friendly and the store is spacious. They also have a perks rewards program for repeat customers.

This place is amazing! They showed me the different teas in my preferences. They also brewed an amazing cup of chia tea that just hit the spot! The employees are very knowledgeable about the teas also! There are also different spices, honey and syrups to look at and smell!.

The ladies working there were an absolute joy to talk to. Really helped me and my partner know more about the area and helped us get all the items we needed. I usually am a supremely picky tea fan, but I found tons there I would love to try. We were able to buy dry tea, spices, and also get a glass of brewed tea from them as well. Other options they had were baking materials (such as cocoa and granulated honey and such), flavored salts, flavored sugars, and tons of fun side merchandise such as tea pots and cooking utensils and flavored oil.
Check it out even if you are just curious! There is something for every food lover out there to enjoy.

My little girl gave me a gift certificate for this place and said that we needed to make a stop after picking her up from school. She raved how amazing the shop smelled and all the fun teas and spices that are here. She knows one of my favorite pasttimes is cooking and experimenting with new bold flavors makes me smile.

I stopped in on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised! The selection was endless with tea, spices, and different salts and sugars. Tina was super friendly and kindly answered my questions. She gave me an overview of different teas I was interested in. I mentioned my preferences and dislikes and she gave great recommendations! The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the tea is relatively affordable. I’ll definitely be back! Thanks guys! :)

Fantastic shop. They carry spices, sugars, and teas I’ve never found anywhere else, and they offer small enough packages that I can try multiple flavors without buying so much that it won’t get used if I don’t like it. I am absolutely in love with their flavored sugars.... Ive been using them to rim my tea and it’s SO good. Not cheap but definitely worth the money and a little goes a long way.

Wonderful tea and spice shop. Such a wide variety of both. Tried some of their brewed tea made to order and it was delicious. Very nice on a cold spring day.

Bought dried hibiscus flowers and a meat rub and I can't wait to use both.

Absolutely my favorite new thing to come to Valpo! I go in for all my regular spices and the flavor of fresh spices has a massive impact on the taste of your meals! I love thier ever-changing blend options and have gotten quite a few gift sets for family as gifts. All with rave reviews! I have recently been drinking spiced masala chia and being able to get the right whole spices and quality loose leaf tea has made it feel so authentic. I will never go back to stale grocery store spices again!

If you are ever in Valparaiso, this place is Great. Tina and her staff were so helpful, my son and I absolutely loved this place and will be back. Not to mention my tea on Easter Sunday was delightful and my spice rub on my ham turned out Amazing.

This is a great place for gifts, teas, and spices. Unique items for the chef in your life, smoked salts, spicey salts, sugars of every variety. My husband and I stop in just for a cup of tea, and can't leave without buying some new tea for home, or spice for dinner! This shop is a great addition to downtown Valparaiso!

We enjoy visiting this store! My husband cooks and is always in need of spices. Always friendly & helpful. Teas made to go are a draw for me!

Fantastic Customer Service! Knowledgeable staff and owner will help you find what you’re looking for and make helpful suggestions. Great place if you need to buy a gift. It’s nice to know that you can buy 1 oz of a spice if that’s all you need instead of buying a big bottle that will lose its freshness.
