This is a place where you learn about wine, have a great chat with some lovely, wine-loving people, and walk out having bought way more wine than you needed and enjoying it way more than you expected.

If you take Bobby’s advice you will discover a wine that is perfect for you or that otherwise has something special about it. His eyes light up as he thinks of a suggestion, and then he scurries off (I can think of no more appropriate word for it) and brings you the best wine you’ve ever tasted.

So, it’s not just a trip to a store. It’s a fun conversation where you can learn about wine and hear lots of stories. Every wine I have bought from them has been so good. This store really brings out the latent oenophile in all of us.

I love this little shop! I used to go-to it a lot more in the past since I lived closer but stopped because I moved. I was in the area and needed to grab some beer. I was pleasantly surprised that everything was still on point with having a great selection of craft beer and wine. While they don't have a homebrew section anymore they do have a wider selection of wines now.
They do seem to carry more kegs now as well. Also the take n bake pizza place inside is great as well!

Live this place. Pick up beer and wine at great prices. Local and imported beers available, many craft selections and be sure to ask what's in the cooler if you can't find something! Having a Mama Mimi's take and bake pizza place attached is awesome too! Fantastic pies, and I do mean this as I am particular about my pizza. Really is a one stop shop for a chill night in. highly recommend.

I visited Gentile's The Wine Sellers [at 1565 King Ave. in the "Fifth by Northwest" neighborhood of Columbus] for my first time on 8-30-2023.

I have been aware of that business for most of my life and have frequently passed there while on my way somewhere else but had never before visited there.

Several weeks earlier [8-13-2023], I had requested an Uber ride home from Gentile's [they had been closed at that time] because the parking lot of the Filipino restaurant across the street [Bonifacio] [that I had left because they had been too crowded at that time] had been too crowded for an Uber pickup.

While waiting for my Uber pickup in the empty Gentile's parking lot, I decided to officially visit there at some point in the near future [obviously when they would be open]; 8-30-2023 ended up being the perfect date for that visit.

The wine selection at Gentile's is large and is attractively displayed; the woman behind the counter [after I had told her that I do not drink alcoholic beverages] showed me their selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

Gentile's also sells custom-made pizzas that are made at the north end of the store. They are not a restaurant which means that the pizzas that they sell are not ready to eat; instead, they are to be heated and served elsewhere.

While looking at a newspaper article that had been posted behind the cash register, I learned that Gentile's had opened when I had been eight days old. I do not believe that I had visited there that day.

It had been great to be able to visit Gentile's after so many years.

Heather and Lauren are amazing! Thanks so much for helping me find what no one else is stocking! This store is beautiful and clean, has amazing smells of the attached pizza place, and has a nice flow to the floors pace and shelf space. I will be a repeat customer.

Excellent prices on beer brewing supplies. They beat online prices 99 percent of the time it seems. Friendly great knowledge as well. Stop by here for your brewing supply seriously. In highly recommend if you call them to check their stock of supplies before you make a trip if you need specialty grains. I have had to make substitutes on a number of things.

If you brew, this place is for you. They have all of the supplies, and their beer and wine selection is phenomenal. They have great pizza and excellent, friendly, knowledgeable staff. All in all, Gentiles gets an A+ in my book. Yes, I have a book...

This place is awesome! Lots of interesting wine, beer, and alcohol. They also have brewing supplies and pizza?? I haven't had the pizza yet, but I'm happy with the beers I got (the wine and sake weren't for me, but I have specific and not common tastes for a wine enthusiast).

My favorite wine store in the city! Employees have so much knowledge to help find what you're looking for and very friendly and personable without being pushy or snobby.

Wines range from ~$10 to $200+ high end imports with most being in the ~$20 range. They have some cidars and a whole row of craft beers in the back. Plus brewing and fermentation supplies.

They'll even order special request bottles for free! Picked up some of my Grandma's favorite for the holidays!

The staff is very versed in wine. They nail it everytime. I'll give them my dinner idea, they have 2 to three suggestions. I'm being fickle but give them some basic likes and a price point...NAIL IT. By far my favorite local wine and beer place. They will also special order and have a large selection of singles to try.

Such knowledgeable and friendly staff! Hearing they carry organic and will ship anything they can that they don’t currently carry was music to my ears. Plus the cute cat charms!!!

This place has the imports you're looking for, tons of local treasures, and home brewing supplies. The staff is super nice and there's always great music. I love looking at the hops inside of the walk-in cooler while the folks at Mama Mimi's make a pie for me.

The hardest thing about a visit to Gentiles is making a decision on what to get. Fortunately, they have boxes that seem to be larger on the inside, so you can fit it all in and easily carry to your destination.

As if there wasn't enough to praise this place about... They so a great job at keeping it COVID safe. I was there on a Friday evening, which I assume is a super-busy time for them, and they had a staff dedicated to limiting the number of people in the building, and they also did a great job of shepherding customers in line, making sure they stayed distanced and went along with the program.

My only regret is not going to Gentiles more often.

The wine and beer selection here is stellar, the only thing better than the selection is the educated staff ready to assist you. The staff at Gentile's is incredible well educated about the products and super helpful in determine what might be best for your occasion. They also have one of the if not the best selection of home brewing supplies in the area. They also offer supplies for home wine making.

Love Gentile's! Very good selection of beers and wines. Also a very good store for wine and beer making equipment. Staff are friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable. If you go there for some beer, make sure to check out what they have in the walk in cooler, which you may not notice unless you ask about it.

Greatest selection of beer brewing supplies in central Ohio. They stock pretty much every grain you can think of, along with most hops and yeast strains. They also carry powder and liquid malt extract, many additives (such as Irish Moss), sanitizing solutions, and hardware (canes, buckets, etc). Oh, and they have an expansive beer and wine selection for purchase.

This is the best homebrew shop in town. Their stock is the cheapest and its generally pretty diverse. They don't have much in the way of advanced hardware, but they have all of the "needs" and most of the "wants" for most homebrewers, especially when it comes to ingredients. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They can sometimes sell out of some things, but their shipments usually come in on Thursday, and they can order/hold specific things if you ask. They also sell beer and wine, which is nice when you're anyway picking up stuff for brew day.

One of the coolest bottle shops around. Very select Wines as well as local craft beer in bottles. You can also get anything you need to brew beer from grain two tanks. Extremely knowledgeable staff and a steady calendar of events make Gentiles one of the coolest spots for any respectable beer nerd in the Columbus area
