Plato's Closet-Tempe

definitely one of the best plato’s closet in AZ. i’ve been here a couple times and i’ve had a good experience each time. when they buy in your items they give you reasons as to why or why not, and pay out a really good amount for the items you bring in, while still being fair in their pricing. All the associates i’ve interacted with are super friendly!! Props to the owner as well, they seem very on top of things here, with just reading the other reviews.

Great place! Went with my husband to harbor freight and looking around I noticed the store! 👀 He got my Christmas presents there, a new Nine West purse, and two new wallets (Bebe and Steve Madden) for $24, I’ll definitely will go back!

The associates in this store are friendly and helpful. They had no problem with helping me find a last min homecoming dress for me daughter. I will definitely be bring my girls back to shop at this location

Great selection on clothes went in looking for business attire for a new job. I found new closes with tags still on the blazer with the original tag on the it said 79 bucks I only paid $16 bucks Customer service was great the girls were helpful and friendly would recommend 10/10

Have been coming here…probably since their beginning! Can’t believe it’s been how long!? I feel compelled to write a review as I ventured to another trade for cash place and my experience was zero compared to this particular Plato’s Closet team!
The owner and the team are always transparent with me and make me feel welcome when I come in. I always go in expecting very minimal and they always surprise me with what they are able to offer (in a good way!) — I know I’m probably a little older than their usual crowd but I like to think I still dress hip! Sometimes they think so too<3
If something is off they don’t let it show and seem to have a good little team comaradarie. It shows it seems to be a good and safe place to work!
They also have a particular section where if you buy from it they give a portion of the proceeds to an animal shelter - we very much appreciate this!!

Always a good place to go. Friendly staff, great customer service.

This is my absolute favorite Plato’s Closet location!! Such a great place to sell clothes and revamp your style! The staff is not only super friendly, but they always have such a great selection 😊

Everyone is super friendly who works here. I've both sold and bought from This store and have always had a good experience. Just sold 3 of my loungefly bags and got a great price for them and will be coming back again soon to look through all of the cute clothes an bags!

Love shopping here! Atmosphere is inviting, staff is friendly and the owner is very accommodating. Back when they did invoicing/shipping they would sometimes hold my stuff for months before I was able pick it up as I live all the way on the opposite side of town. Still a great place to shop!

I can’t say enough good things about this location! I’m always treated so kindly by everyone, and they make selling my clothes super easy. I walked away with over $50 today, and had a fun conversation with one of the friendly girls at checkout. I’ve always enjoyed shopping and selling my clothes here, and I highly recommend trying it out for yourself.

Plato’s Closet Tempe is by far my favorite location. They have the most respectful staff and amazing owner. It is worth the drive any where in the valley for buying or selling clothes. They also donate to the animal shelters! Bonus win!!

I went in today to sell some of my clothes and was promptly greeted by not one but two bright eyed smiling girls. They explained the process thoroughly and let me know they would send me a text when my buy was complete. Although only a couple items were selected I was very happy with the price I was offered and I completely understand. Some things may have not been in season, in style, or the right size. I'll definitely be coming back to sell in the future! Thank you for a great experience and making me feel welcome!

Such a nice place - both in terms of the staff and the store itself! I brought in some items to sell today and the staff was so pleasant and took the time to explain the whole process since it was my first time there. They took a few items (admittedly, I am a bit out of their target age range) and offered a very fair payout. The store is very clean, organized, and well stocked. All three employees were very friendly, and I really appreciated that they recommended another consignment store for some of my more professional items that weren't right for their customer base.

Great selection of clothes. If you have teen daughter(s) be prepared to stay longer than 15 minutes. For the fitness folks, you can go hang out in Play It Again Sports or for the mechanics, go wander around in Harbor Freight.

Great experience! Loved the owner and seller Madison, they were the best. No they didn’t buy all my stuff but guess what, that’s okay! You have to understand that not everything is going to sell and this demo for this shop if 15 to 24. Happy to clean out my closet and honestly go in with an open mind and be willing to part with your stuff as a discounted rate, it’s a second hand store people! Loved this place, loved the staff, and I look forward to shopping here when it opens. ❤❤❤

I went in to sell some clothes and holy smokes, the customer service here is top of the line! Cali was so welcoming and pleasant even while juggling a million things. I wish I could multitask like that! Brielle checked me out and was very cheerful. Cali also helped me bring my bags back to my car!!! What a woman. Also the store itself is nice and clean and organized!

My favorite consignment store! They are always buying, so everyday I go in I can always find something new to purchase, whether it’s clothing, shoes, accessories, makeup or skincare products. They have clearance sales up to 70% off (where I bought my most recent purse for only $3!!), and a wide selection of cute clothes from F21, Abercrombie and Fitch to Gymshark and Shein. The employees are so friendly and welcoming and the store is always clean and makes me feel safe to shop in.

I’ve sold my items as well as my boyfriends items at this location on several occasions! To be honest, it was weird at first but only because my boyfriends roommate went with me the first time and without my consent added his items to my account and then took my payout with out telling me nor did he mention this to the employees at Plato’s! It kinda made things weird because I was worried I would be lumped in with his unprofessional behavior! They usually buy my clothes that are trendy and in like new condition! They target a demographic that is between tween age and early 20’s since I’m 30, I don’t always have clothes that will sale quickly! A lot of the girls are young and still learning how to interact in a retail setting! I remember when I was that age, I was so awkward and my boss at Charlotte Russe, would tell me at least once a month I had gotten complaints from our customers for my “attitude” which broke my heart because in my mind I thought I was being nice and helping our customers! Lol Consignment is way more challenging because you don’t wanna offend someone for attempting to sell items that are out of style, or not in a good enough condition. People get really offended when consignment shops don’t want their clothes! Sooo, If you have had a weird experience with the staff, I’m sure it was a miscommunication and they probably feel horrible having a stranger blast them on the internet! I wouldn’t be upset or take it personal if you didn’t get the money you thought you deserved, this is not a career, it’s just a place to take your overflow of clothes and get some coffee money, it’s better than goodwill! I will say if you want to sell stuff, make sure your boyfriends annoying roommate doesn’t tag along and embarrass you, like what happened to me! I have had a better experience with this store than I have at the competition (name brand) on southern and Alma School,it’s not high school girls working the counter, it’s 30something year old dudes with bad style and worse attitudes! Pro tip don’t bring a bunch of stuff in at the same time, in my experience, you won’t sell that much and then you have to do the walk of shame, with a trash bag full of clothes that aren’t worthy of a second hand shop! Jk but not really!

Went in for an interview outfit, the woman working today was so helpful and friendly. She helped me find a super stylish, professional outfit when I had no clue what to look for. Couldn't be more appreciative and had amazing service.
