BJ's Wholesale Club

Personally this is a great store! Staff is good, especially when they know you are a regular. They carry name brand items as compared to other bulk buy stores. They have a good selection of items, and I often find hidden gems. My only complaints are: they rotate some items so you might find something great but it might not be a regular item they stock, and they lack a food court. Having both BJ's and Costco membership I shop at BJ 10X as much. The membership quickly pays for itself.

Additional info: One area of opportunity is their third party services contract (home improvement vendor). They often solicit you as you're shopping BIG TURN OFF, and the third party home improvement vendor is VERY expensive, no savings here despite the association. Buyer beware....do your homework.

Wyent there this morning around 10:47 to grab a couple things, got the mix and match bag of Doritos. I only grabbed one bag as I was leaving and going through the exit door the man watching the door checked my receipt and asked how many bags I had I said one he said go get another one.I told him I only paid for one. He said no you paid for 2 it’s mix and match! I was very impressed that he looked out for me! I honestly would not have noticed! So awesome experience today!! And what a great guy watching the door this morning! Thank you!! I didn’t even catch his name unfortunately!

This is a membership discount store. Memberships start at around $50 annually. Wide variety of items: TVs, countertop kitchenware, fresh foods, bakery items, fresh meats, snacks, baking items, beauty products, vitamins, clothing, oral hygiene items. Glasses and contact lenses are sold in the store, but you need to bring your prescription.
BJs also sells and mounts tires. Members can also buy gas at the station near the store.

Been coming to this store for almost 10 years and like almost every northern Virginian, I have memberships at both Costco and BJs. BJs is no-nonsense, no frills, and a whole lot less stressful of a shopping experience. You won't be treated like a king or queen (which none of us is, btw), but I've always encountered genuine people there. I have never had to wait in the insane lines like at Costco, either inside the store or at the gas pump. That goes a long way for sanity in this area!

I have been a BJ’s customer for decades and have always been happy with their service, but I’d like to recognize today’s service especially. I am the only member in my family, and my husband and I had gone out on a shopping spree. After placing all of our items on the belt, I noticed that my wallet, along with my membership card, were missing. We were directed to customer service, where a very kind employee spent time helping me look up my membership, and proceeded to let my husband and I check out. My wallet was also later found and returned by very generous members. Considering that this all happened on my birthday, it overall was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!

Helpful and quick in-store experience. The gas station was well below expectation of everyone attempting to buy gas; I watched all the pumps while I was in line for 15 minutes; it appears the gas flow was very low and took exceptionally long to fill a car tank; I was fortunately in a position that allowed me to exit that area - without having the opportunity to buy gas.

This location has lots of verities for each item. I am a member of BJ's since 2012 and I love it more than Costco or Sam's club because they accept manufacturer's coupons plus their own coupon book has many more coupons. Also gas is cheap compare to Costco and Sam's club and sometimes they offer $0.05 off/gallon if you make purchase in the club.

I bought an expensive blender but returned it to the BJ's store in Fairlake due to the wrong model. Instead of receiving a refund, a CSR charged me again. I did not pay attention nor checked a return receipt. I just realized the wrong charge when receive a statement from my credit card a month later. At that time, I lost the return receipt.

I went back to the store, talked and explained my problem to a store manager, Bishnu Acharga. I was thinking there is no way I can get the money back. The store manager can simply tell me that he cannot do anything without the receipt. But Mr. Acharga made a couple phone calls and tried to pull out the original scanned receipts from their system without success. It was late and the store closed soon. Mr. Acharga told me to go home and said he will work on this and call me tomorrow. I thought he was just being polite by saying that. He would probably forget about my problem and never call me tomorrow.

Next day afternoon, I received a phone call from Mr. Acharga. He was able to retrieve the old scanned receipt and found out that it was a CSR mistake. He then issued a refund for me. I am impressed by his work. He patiently helped the customer, in this case, who lost the receipt. I just wanted to say thank you Mr. Acharga for all your help. You are fantastic and a dedicated manager.

I hardly write reviews but i had to after the service i got from a worker named Shakeya. These days its hard to find anyone who hussles and cares about their job like Shakeya. I drove 30 minutes to buy rubber mulch because it showed they had 50 in stock. When i got there it wasnt on the floor and i had to wait an hour until someone could bring it down from the top shelf since loaders dont come in until later. Shakeya assured me as soon as they get in, they will pull it first thing and she sure did. She is fantastic.

The store is fine, you can always find a good deal in store. The best part is the gas! Always 10 - 50 cents cheaper than any gas stations in a 10 mile radius. The membership price is more than worth what you'll save on gas.

I had a good experience at this wholesale club. Using coupons helped me get much for my buck. And, oh! Their gas station saved my life. Refilled the tank at the best price in the area. Love it.

Considering how the BJ staff members saved me from my fate, I believe BJ's customer service is stupendous!
The special senior bus that brought us to the shopping center neglected to put my purchases on the bus which is the standard practice.
My basketful of groceries was left on the sidewalk.
A diligent employee brought the basket back into the store. When I called to ask whether they had seen the basket, they made sure I could list many items and then put the basket in a safe place until I could locate a volunteer to drive me from Herndon, VA to BJ's.
I presented my receipt and they immediately located the basketful of groceries in tact. Every item was still in the basket.
The store Manager, Durelle, and two other particular employees, Toni and Marshra were especially diligent when they held my groceries "until" I could locate a volunteer to drive me there.
Thank you "all". . . The thought that someone could have taken the groceries home was foremost on my mind. So when I encountered such kindness at BJ's, I felt compelled to broadcast this tremendous series events.
Everyone should shop at BJ's store in Fairfax, VA!

I would like to recognize someone very special to my whole family from Deli department! Her name is Magda and she’s my number one BJ’s representative person to me because her kindness and friendship made me to go to see her every time I am at BJ’s shopping. I’m totally favored to BJ’s Deli Department products!!!

I prefer BJ's over Costco any day. The selection may be a little better at Costco, but the quality is just as good. Additionally, BJ's is never as crowded as Costco.

Not too crowded, yet have good varieties of products. Their gas prices are as competitive as Costco, and usually the lines are much shorter.

AMERICA LOST ITS CUSTOMER SERVICE......But BJs has mainted it throughoit its excistence. Excellent quality and customer service!!!!

There is the personal touch, which it's competition lacks!!!

They treat you with resect, friendliness, attention and most importantly a smile!!!!!

I love this place it’s never crowded but they always have the best stuff. Also the membership fees are cheaper than other warehouse clubs.

Found all the things we came for. They take manufacturers coupons. They are handicap accessible. The bathrooms are clean. Can't really ask for a whole lot more from a big box store.

Favorite place for the bulk purchase of life's necessities. Costco hangs in there, offering stiff competition. Costco has the best butter, and nuts. BJs is faster.
