Bert & Ernie's General Store

Place is VERY VERY evocative of old southwest charm..... reminds me of a western movie or some Texas dust-fallen family owned store from the movies or from stories against "corporate" entities like Wal-Mart...i got great photos here...great prices on convenience store items and even has a mini-diner with VERY delicious and large portion meals at VERY fair values. the place has a bunch of kids acting as the "store manager" and we thought it was kinda funny....very VERY texan and vEry charming place...definitely recommend it...I'm from Dallas/Fort Worth so I have NO bias towards anything here.

The other review is pretty rough. While this place is not a "traditional" general store, the prices are MUCH cheaper than anything else even remotely close. The owner, Bill, who is usually working the bar will bend over backwards to make sure you are having a good time.

The place can get pretty crowded, and occasionally smokey. The "drunks" the other review speak about usually keep out of your business, but are pretty friendly if you are open. I'm going to guess that the other review is a yuppie who was hoping for a steak and wine after an hour of hamilton pool.
