Santa Catarina

I am in town and met up with a friend of mine today for lunch and per the recommendation , Santa Catarina was on the short list.

Located in a shopping center, the location is convenient yet unassuming. They had an outdoor patio with lovely flower boxes, we opted to eat inside as it was a little drizzly today.

Ample seating inside as well. A nice tree decorated for Christmas and cool light features. The rustic wood pieces on the wall were a nice touch.

I had a mimosa, and my friend had a bloody Mary, we both enjoyed them. We ordered the ceviche for an appetizer, and was surprised at the size of it! Really fresh, had a nice flavor.

For lunch my friend had Chilaquiles and said it was delicious. I had the steak on the brunch menu, served with black beans, potatoes and a side of fruit. They had a great flavor, was steak was well seasoned and moist.

Service was really good, the server took care of us, and the manager checked on us as well.

Great experience, would highly suggest Santa Catarina!

Arrived for HH and was impressed with the appetizer deals. The margs are all very good and there’s plenty to choose from. The shrimp cocktail is pretty big but the shrimp in it were a bit chewy. The nachos were tasty and the meat toppings were tender.

Excellent Mexican food. Presentation was spot on. Portions were generous. And, terrific recipes combined with skilled chefs and cooks.

Definitely try the mole. Fresh, delicious guacamole. Wonderful tostadas.

This was the best Mexican food I’ve had outside of Mexico! The queso and guacamole were a great way to start the meal. I got the taquitos with green salsa and they were amazing! Ended the meal with a flan slice from heaven. Make sure to try the pork!

Everything was super good and authentic tasting. Loved the cochinita pibil and wife enjoyed the fresh fish tacos. Margs were great.

Hands-down the best Mexican in the area. The food is more authentic mexican than TexMex. Everything is so fresh, staff are friendly and the vibe is relaxing. I got the lunch enchiladas and they were amazing. For us, Santa Catarina food rivaled Eldorado cafe in north Austin.

Hands down this was the best Mexican food I've had since living in Austin. The mole, the family recipe slow cooked pork, the tortillas, the salsa, the service, the drinks, the price. If I could give 10 stars I darn would

OMG! This is THE BEST REAL MEXICAN FOOD EVER!!!! We went here 3 times in 3 days! The food was superb and the staff was excellent! The manager came over and spoke with us and remembered our names. Extremely personable! The quesadillas were out of this world delicious!! We had the Yucateca for lunch and oh wow!! Love, love, love this place!!! 💖💖💖 Linda and Bill

Absolutely the best. Service at the bar is phenomenal, it’s like synchronized swimming…. They all work so well together. We have been many times, but rarely on a Friday around happy hour. They were killing it!! I don’t think we’ve ever sat at a table, always at the bar. The food is excellent. Different than our normal Tex Mex but so good. Everything has been excellent.

A pleasant surprise after a day on the lake! Had a great experience here - they seated our table of 7 quickly and we had good service. Queso flamaedo was really yummy - hot and salty. The salsa that came out with chips was actually spicy and very good. I had the Cochin it’s pibil which was a 10/10 so flavorful and special. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes, too, and we all agreed we happily dine here again.

Fantastic service from all staff to the manager. Great food - beautifully presented. Great drinks and atmosphere.

How can you possibly go wrong with Mexico City style nachos and a frozen margarita with fresh juices and agave? No syrupy sweet and sour here!
Seriously, this place is incredible. The ceviche is so fresh, the Filet de Res with goat cheese butter is ridiculously delicious, and the service is incredible.

This restaurant came highly recommended from several of my patients and I can see why. The service first off, was top notch. Brian was courteous, kind, and efficient. Second, the food tasted like authentic Mexican food. The sangria was amazing, definitely homemade. And the shrimp cocktail and the flan… YUM. I’ll be back for sure, 5 stars well deserved.

This is a wonderful place! The chip appetizer and shrimp cocktail is yummy. I get the pineapple mimosa when I go and the happy hour every day at 4 pm is a hit. Great for dates and family!

Ended up at Santa Catarina in an unplanned way, there was a small wait time of 15 mins.

The complementary chips and salsa was nice and the both the mexican martini amd the mule cocktails were nice

For main course we got the chicken fajitas and the pechuga a la parrrilla with chipotle sauce. Both dishes were flavorful and the portions were large enough.

Excellent inner Mexico food. We've enjoyed brunch, lunch and dinner! Variety on menu!

Fantastic food, from the salsa, chips, to the slow cooked pork shoulder. The margaritas were great, prices were great. Genuinely surprised that I was impressed by a Mexican restaurant in Austin. Surprises are the best!
