Very fun with my two toddler boys. There was a craft area next to the bathrooms to make their own pinwheel, lots of Christmas trees decorated by local schoolchildren, which made the museum smell so festive and lovely.

We visited originally to check out the playground which is directly behind the museum and leads to a short trail. The boys enjoyed the train jungle gym and a little metal butterfly we snapped a photo next to.

Out front is a huge Christmas tree. We plan to return at night to get a great holiday family photo.

The museum docents are great and the place has interesting things to engage both young and old alike. It was very nice to see that the Museum was also having a sale during our visit! I was honored to be among the many community leaders featured in their temporary exhibit of "Faces of Manassas".

My family and I had a great time here. Great information on Manassas history. I particularly liked the displays and the audio history exhibit. They also had an area for a high school art exhibit, with beautifully impressive art.

Awesome selection of gifts, shirts, local made items, and more! Had a great sale running today and got lots of cute goodies! The woman working (I believe her name is Danay) was so kind and pleasant!

Little museum in my town that i never had a chance to visit. I wish I had done it sooner. What i loved to see the most was the people of people who actually still live in the area. Learning the actual beginnings of Jeannie Dean technical school and what it meant in the African American community was even better for me. So glad that I was able to take my child there to see it. It is free which is awesome but it is a Little bit small you will not be there all day but it was definitely something cool to do when you are free and need to get out and stay local.

Such a great museum! It's laid out in an organized, chronological fashion so it's easy to follow. The scavenger hunt for kids is a fun way to get them involved (and they even have a pictorial version for pre-readers). The staff are kind and knowledgeable, and the gift shop has a wide selection of books and fun gifts.

Nice museum in Manassas. As a resident of Prince William County for 25ish years, I didn't even know about it until a couple years ago. They have some interesting exhibits and a nice little shop. The courtyard area was decorated nicely with artwork from local students.

Local small museum. Kind I like. Enjoy learning local history of events of the time. Easy to get to, easy parking, friendly staff. Easy to follow around and read the information and look at the exhibits. Quiet, well lighted. Daughter liked the pointed clothes and the guy asking, "what clothes item changed after the Civil War". I guessed belt...wrong. Answer will surprise people. I figure an hour to visit.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our walk through the museum. The
exhibits were beautifully arranged and the clothing display was fascinating. I am so glad we decided to stop as we were exploring Manassas.

The museum was very easy to access within Old town Manassas. My husband and I parked in the public parking lot and walked the short distance to it. I would recommend giving yourself at least an hour to see everything the museum has to offer; the building may look small but there is a lot of history in those walls!

Good place to spend a few hours. Civil war and local history. Has interactive pages to find facts in museum as you go foe kids. If you complete it all they gave granddaughter a keychain from museum store. Brought lunch and ate at shaded picnic table in shade. Has many events throughout year, just a neat place. Free admission, closed mondays

Very special place and warm welcome, Southern hospitality is not a myth! the museum is very well set, interesting all along and not too much: a pleasant learning experience; the gift shop is perfect, just what we were looking for and could not find: I bought 5 items there, souvenirs of that day in Manassas, VA

This is a great museum especially for kids. They have age appropriate scavenger hunts which are short, but well done. My kids love to go and learn about our town.

Cute little museum. Learned a bit about Manassas and it's history. It could be a 10-45 minute walk through depending on if you read everything and do all the activities.
