Ace Peninsula Hardware

I do not post reviews often. When I do, it is because my experience was either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. I am delighted to say that my experience today (and always) was exceptionally good. (Not just at this store but at either store.)

I was in a bit of a jam. I had to get all the locks changed in my house and could not have all the locks off for a long period of time. I took all the tumblers and related hardware off and brought it all to the store, along with all the keys I had.

I'll skip the details but (not sure of the name, Blue?) dropped what he was doing and said that he would do it right away. It would take about an hour and he would call. True enough. He either rekeyed or rebuilt all the deadbolts and door handle locks, cleaned them all, and made me the extra keys I asked for.

One of the handle locks was in rough shape and was pretty much beyond repair. He actually apologized for not being able to fix it! I gladly bought a new replacement to which he applied a coupon and didn't charge me to set the lock to the same keys.

This store did everything they could to do their best for me and actually save me money. I have been a loyal customer since moving here six years ago and will continue to be so.

To top it off, I take my Sheltie (Major) everywhere I do and everyone is to nice and friendly, not just to the dog but to me to!

This is a very well run and efficient hardware store. They seem to have just about everything a person could need for home repair and woodworking projects. The only thing I wish they had were full sheets of plywood and full 2x4s. For the plywood, I have to travel out to home Depot which is another 20 minutes away. The location convenience mixed with the selection in the store have been a lifesaver.

John was the jolliest and most helpful ACE associate I’ve ever met! He was very knowledgeable and helpful. He even came out to my RV in the parking lot to help figure out what I needed to solve an issue. The other workers were also very friendly! Thanks for the great service John!

Clean, staff is very helpful. Specially Joe, he helped me find all the parts I needed for a project I was working on, and really showed effort in solving my problem.

The service you receive from the staff is exceptional. No wasted time looking for items and nobody to help you.

I went into this ACE to get a piece to fix my walker. Bernard found the right sized pieces and fixed the walker for me. He could not have been nicer. Thank you.

Such a pleasant place to shop. Love the staff! They go out of their way to help and are always available. No hunting around aisles to find someone like you sometimes experience at the big box stores.

Our go-to (Lowes/Home Depot is in BFE) for last minute hardware needs. They don’t have everything but they do have ALOT in a small space. The people are helpful and always smiling

Hardware store with a little bit of everything. More expensive than the big box stores. Lots of service people helping customers. Quite busy.

Bob, an extremely nice and professional gentleman, impressed me with not only the fact that he was able to make me a perfectly working copy of my car key ( since the only one I had to give him to work with was a copy!!) but was delighted to hear how well it worked. It's refreshing to see that there are still people who take pride in their job, thank you Bob!

I was sent specifically there and not where I would go. I was impressed by the employees on hand to help. It seemed like a family business. Nothing extravagant but a clean, organized establishment. Good prices. I will do my shopping there in the future.

We love going to this hardware store. It is smaller so it doesn't have everything you need, but it has most things. The employees here are extremely helpful and are willing to help you find anything in the store. They are very knowledgeable about their products and will even suggest other stores to go to for items that they do not carry. Great store!

Never been to Ace before but there were a few things I needed to get and it was the closest place to home. I actually loved it, good enough variety with a few options of certain things I like that I haven't seen elsewhere before. Reasonable price.

After getting the run around at at a different Ace the folks here checked on an item for me even though they didn't think they had it. They offered to order it for me. They are friendly and had great initiative.

I only buy my DIY hardware from Ace or Home Depot. Rarely do I walk away without everything I need. If they don't have it in the store, use their on-line site. Very responsive. Good, neighborhood advise, too.

Aside from lumber, this place has a surprisingly large selection of hardware, as well as tools/tool accessories, and at competitive prices. One of the things that makes them stand out the most to me, when compared to Lowe's or Home Depot, is their selection of nuts/bolts/screws/etc and specialty parts that always seem impossible to find when you need.

The store is beautiful and full of wonderful finds of variety galore. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The best in town! Everything u really need and friendly helpful staff. If they don't have it, you probably don"t REALLY need it. Support this local business, both locations. But downtown is the BEST!!

ACE IS MY PLACE!!!!!! This Particular ACE Hardware is a very small store but its a Rare Day that I cant find what I need or at least something that will suffice without totally Jury Rigging or Reinventing the Wheel. Best Staff in Williamsburg Hands Down! Everyone who works there, #1 has been there awhile and comes to WORK to WORK.....
