Colonial Veterinary Clinic

We have been clients at Colonial Veterinary since 1994. My sister and I started taking our many cats and one dog to Dr. Sullivan when he was in a small store front at five forks, and my husband and I continued to go to Colonial after the practice moved to their current building. We were happy to meet Dr. Kroenlein , Dr. Garman and all the caring staff who continue the practice’s legacy of being committed to their clients well being. We have experienced every stage of our pets lives from joyous puppyhood and kitten crazies to old age and loss with the vets and their staff, and they have have never let us down. We have appreciated all their care and concern with our many fur babies over the years. We will continue to take our pets.

The facility is clean and welcoming! My cat was in an incredibly grumpy mood, not wanting to cooperate. The staff beginning with reception, to Cailynn (the vet tech) and Dr. Houghton were supportive and made sure to get my cat all vaccinated and up to date on testing and treatment. The reception answered my questions on the phone and did not disregard my concerns (even assisting me in getting an appointment more convenient for my schedule and timeline). Considering my cat was VERY uncooperative and grumpy- the staff maintained smiles and took care of him safely. My wait time was reasonable and I did not feel rushed or dismissed as an owner. The team treated my cat like a VIP even though he was not the happiest camper.

The staff are wonderful! It’s hard to find someone who takes birds but Dr K was able to see my parakeet! I’ll be using this clinic for my other birds as well.

Colonial Vet Clinic has been seeing my dogs for 6 years and I’m so grateful for their fabulous tech and office staff, as well as a master vet, Dr. K. You and your pets will be treated compassionately and fairly.

Recently moved to the area and I love this clinic. My dog came in with a few chronic issues and the ongoing care and phone calls to check on my dog were so welcome during a stressful time. I would never go anywhere else, everyone is so caring!

My rescues often come with a lot of emotional baggage. Colonial Vet's Techs always meet them where they are. It make a huge difference to these animals and alleviates so much panic and anxiety.

I cannot say enough about Dr. K, Dr. Garmin and staff. My voice is always heard and our pets are truly cared for. I just went through a scare with one of my senior dogs and Dr. K was there every step of the way. We are a military family and have seen many vets across the nation and Colonial is the best.

Colonial Veterinary Clinic has the best vets....they are the most caring and kind vets our kitties (3 of them) have ever had. Dr Heidi introduced our kitty to her catnip container and now he wants to go to the vet every day. Dr Heidi is so personable, sweet and down to earth. We love her!

The staff was great! I can’t remember the name of the doctor and vet tech that helped us, but they were fantastic. Our cat has been having a lot of teeth pain. He also normally needs to be pulled out of his carrier because he’s scared. He walked right out for the vet tech and seemed very comfortable. He was really good and even was purring up a storm for most of the exam with the doctor. They were very gentle with him and he came back home less stressed and on good medication. They called us the next day to check on him as well as update us on his blood work. He needs dental surgery and they were able to schedule it a month from his check up.

I am already recommending Colonial Vet to friends and family and will be making them our primary vet! Thank you! Our boy is doing so much better!

Dr. K and his entire staff have been such a wonderful part of our life. We've got a dog and 5 cats, so having an amazing vet with very reasonable prices is super important. We love Colonial!

Dr K & Dr Garmen are incredibly knowledgeable Veterinarians but equally important they are outstanding people, kind, committed, compassionate individuals that represent the best of the best!! They are relentless at problem solving health issues and follow-up themselves with call to check in. The team of Techs & front staff are on top of A LOT of moving parts to ensure great pet care occurs. Dr Garman is a wonderful, caring and professional veterinarian. She takes such excellent care of my 12 year old lab mix, and two year old cat ensuring they receive the best treatment and care possible. From the front desk staff to those who work behind the scenes (and we rarely see), ALL the team members are efficient, friendly, supportive, knowledgeable and helpful. I’d give Colonial Vet ten gold stars if I could, they certainly deserve that and much more!

Love, love, love this place and their staff. Dr. K is incredible and has been so kind and considerate with our pets. He and the staff have literally saved my dog twice over the years.

Late one afternoon, my dog had a medical emergency. The office was about to close, but they still told me to bring her in. They stayed late to stabilize my dog so I could take her to the emergency vet in Yorktown. No one seemed put out or annoyed that they were staying late to care for her. They didn’t try to rush us as they explained our options and my husband and I talked over our decisions.

In addition to the wonderful staff, the prices are reasonable, and you never get the feeling they’re trying to push services or procedures that are unnecessary. I absolutely trust their recommendations with our pets.

Dr. K and Colonial Vet staff are the best. They truly care about your pet as if they were their own! Our cat has had some recent health issues and Colonial has been so patient, flexible, proactive, and communicative with us. Dr. K is incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. We really couldn’t ask for a better vet.

They were SO wonderful to me and Piper, I couldn't believe she curled up on the table! She remained pretty calm, and my vet treated her with such a natural grace and kindness!

Colonial has taken such personalized care of my pup for 7 years. Lots of time with the vet during annual check up, help in emergencies and everyone is caring and friendly. They seem to hire those that really care about every pet that comes through the door.

Colonial Veterinary Clinic is now in the caring professional hands of Dr. Kroenlein. Our family has had many felines under the compassionate and watchful eye of Dr. Mangeldorf, who we wish the best in his retirement. Dr. Kroenlein is a kind-hearted veterinarian who listens to your concerns and whose knowledge helps establish the best healthcare plan for your pet. Our little girl is quite a challenge, but Dr. Keoenlein has approached her care with helpful insights, compassion and good humor. I am thankful he arrived at Colonial Veterinary Clinic!
