Lovely place, beautiful space inside. Welcoming to pets and all ages. So many to offer from a delicious cup of tea on the house while you browse through many fantastic new and old books. Enjoy the variety of puzzles, candles even some snacks(can’t go wrong with a popsicle). There are stickers, cards, crystals and unique trinkets. Stop by and support a local shop. Sabrina is one of the best people with perfect advice for any type of a book.

One of my favorite bookstores in Sacramento! It's tucked away near Mickinely Park but worth checking out. They have a great selection of books and fun events for kids and adults. They also have fun accessories, cards, stickers, and other items that make great gifts. The staff is super friendly, and it's also dog-friendly.

Wonderful, wonderful bookshop. It’s my happy place - love to browse and shop for books, journals, cards, candles and puzzles. Always friendly and helpful. They will order any book they don’t have on hand - which is a great service.

I love this shop!

Whenever I’m in town, I make a conscious decision to stop by. Their selection is perfectly curated with sweet ratio of Adult, Young Adult, and Children’s books alongside a smattering of delightful stationery. And their space is just as cozy as it is airy with a reading nook beside the storefront windows and complimentary tea.

I finally met the shop owner Sabrina today, and I felt right at home asking them to help me find books from an author I was interested in. An idea, would be fun to see new author features if you aren’t already doing that! ☺

Such an absolutely lovely bookstore! 💕

Don’t be fooled by its size — they not only have a great selection of all genres of books, they also buy & sell used books, beautiful cards, funky merch (the hand painted notebooks they sell are gorgeous!), games, handmade soaps and much more. One can custom order any book and have it delivered for free (within 2 miles) or a small fee.

Sabrina, the owner is helpful, without being overbearing and the place has ample space for reading for both, kids and adults. Every neighbourhood in the world should have a charming, quirky, comforting and welcoming bookstore like this. Yes, Libraries and bookstores save democracy! 👊🏻💪🏻

Thank you East Village Bookshop 🌻 You are one of the highlights of my trip to Sacramento.

This was my first time, and it was amazing. I loved how cozy and real it was - there were knick knacks and small things to buy there that were also super high quality, and the bookshelves were very well organized and had a great variety. I also loved that they made space for a community craft, notice board, and a craft / drawing section for bored kiddos. We'll be going back soon!

Say no to big box bookstores!

East Village is a gem, cozy with lots of seating, free tea and coffee, and plenty of community activities. Plenty of things for kids to do, their section isn't an afterthough like it is in so many bookstores. Lots of East Sac vibes with neighbors walking their dogs and popping in after exercising at McKinley Park.

This is my fiancé and I’s favorite bookstore! They have such a well curated selection that offers enough variety but not too much that it’s overwhelming. I always find something interesting when I’m in here. The employees are also super nice and I love the extra touches they put into the store (flowers, tea, etc). I’ll definitely keep coming back whenever I need a new book.

A great shop with a variety of new and old books for all ages. It was clean and whimsical and well-organized and the owner was very pleasant.

They have a great selection of new young adult, cooking, popular novels and little children's books. Both the classics and the niche books.

We'll definitely be back soon!

We absolutely love this bookstore! They have a great selection of books for both kids and adults, gift items, greeting cards and they even sell fresh flowers. The location is perfect for walking to if you live in East Sacramento as it’s just down the street from McKinley Park. Such a welcome addition to the neighborhood!!

A darling neighborhood new and used bookstore with a great "vibe" since neighbors are walking over to pick up a good book. There is an area for children to draw or read that makes it very family friendly. The local hangout has many current adult books as well as wonderful children's books about social situations, historical events, and cultural differences.
The sales people are knowledgeable and friendly.
The hours posted on google are incorrect. The store closes at 6pm daily and the site shows that they close later on 2 days.

I came from out of town and was just looking for a book store to buy a magazine, even though they didn't carry magazines I was really impressed with the great customer service I received that I bought a book and they even wrapped it up for me. If I lived here I would definitely shop here for all my reading needs.

Long live the independent bookstore!

I normally hate calling stores on the phone, but I was having trouble finding a book on their website so I called them and they are supper helpful!

Also, the store itself is nice, very kid friendly, really interesting books available, and other goodies (flowers, popsicles). Check out their story time in the park (at McKinley).

Exactly what you hope to find when you stop in a local bookstore. Well organized with lots of little surprises, and I Ioved the selection of kids books. If I’m ever in Sacramento again, I’ll come back.

Very cute find in East Sac, good selection of kids books. I think they only opened about a month ago (?) so stop in and support a local indie bookstore!
