Potomac River Running

I love this store. I was originally recommended this store after I moved to the area and was experiencing pain when running. I came in and went through their extensive fitting process after which they found the best shoes for me. 10 years later and I go in there every three months to get replacement shoes and other gear I need for my active lifestyle. The staff area always welcoming and knowledgeable. It is a great place to come and be with runners who really understand what you are talking about. 10/10 would recommend that you come in and get fitted for shoes because as I have been shown, new shoes and socks can fix a lot of pain you didn't even know was cause by your shoes.

Brad helped me today. Good service! Good shoes. Second time in the store. Second time spending hundreds of dollars to have comfortable feet. Worth it. Get in here!

I took up running during COVID and have enjoyed it since. I always stuck with my trusty Nike Pegasus, a good shoe for sure. I finally got around to going to Potomac River Running to get fitted and look at some different shoe options. I ended up going to the Leesburg store and the experience could not have been better. Yosselyn welcomed me to the store and took me through the complete fitting process. The process is very thorough, measuring all aspects of your foot, strike pattern and even taking a short video of a run on the in-store treadmill to look at a slow motion of my running gait. Based on the results Yosselyn proceeded to show me no less than 7 different shoe options, encouraging me to take a run outside or on the treadmill to get a feel for the shoe. After numerous runs on the treadmill I landed on the Brooks Ghost 15. Yosselyn was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough, and there was never any pressure to buy shoes there, she was completely focused on finding the right shoe for me. "The shoes will talk to you" was her line, and she was right. I did end up buying the Brooks there, how could I not after such a great experience, and the price was the same as everywhere else. Thank you Yosselyn.

Marcus was an amazing salesman. He helped me make sure I got the shoe that best suited my arch and heal, given that my go-to shoe and brand were out of commission. He was personable and kind, and I’m thankful for his patience while I picked out my shoes

11/16/2021: My physical therapist at Restore Physical Therapy had recommended I go to Potomac River Running to get a pair of New Balance 860 v12. Henry greeted me at the store and was so helpful and attentive. He brought out 3 different stability shoes to let me see different options. I did purchase the the New Balance 860. Thank you Henry!
4/29/2021:Great store for running shoes and gear. I went in for a pair Nathan elastic laces, as pictured. Store was well organized and inviting. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable.

We love our friends at Potomac Running. They are so helpful in getting you into the right shoe. The staff are all runners or walkers so they know the basic needs of their customers. They are patient and don’t push you in a direction you don’t want to go. They are community minded as well with events and programs for everyone. They have the most current versions of the brands they carry which is pretty expansive compared to the big sports store down the street. I never leave dissatisfied.

I was a bit nervous coming to a running store as I wouldn't describe myself as a hardcore runner (I just run in my neighborhood and the treadmill, no marathons for me). But Will was very friendly and his service and attentiveness put me at ease. After taking my size with his state-of-the-art 3D scanner, he was able to bring out the perfect pair of running shoes (both in fit and a nice blue color, as I didn't want a plain black or white pair). Their pricing is exactly the same as if you bought the same shoes online, so it's definitely worth buying from Potomac River as you get the fit advice and great service.

Woman in Leesburg Very helpful in finding many different pairs of sneakers for me to try. I have some walking issues with my feet. Was able to buy one that would help my problem.

First visit to Potomac River Running and it was a fantastic experience! This was our first time being fitted for running shoes and Lauren did an excellent job finding the perfect pair (can’t wait to start putting miles on them). We even snagged a great deal on Balega socks! Will certainly return for all our running needs.

I had a great experience here today- Helen was a great help and was so so easy to talk to. She had great patience in answering my many questions and made sure I got a shoe that suited my needs. I have yet to try out the shoes but can’t wait to get out running and will be sure to go back here for my running needs!

First time shopper at Potomac River Running and I was really pleased with the selection and service. I visited both the Fair Oaks and the Leesburg locations. I've always loved my local running stores, and just moved out here a few months ago. After 19 marathons, the Mizunos I've always worn just aren't working for me anymore due to slight changes in their design, so I went to Potomac River Running to get resized and try on some new brands. I LOVE that they have this technology that scans your foot and then sends you a link to get all the information; I spent like an hour looking at it and rotating my digital feet to understand why my instep and toes are "special" :) The folks here are SO GREAT! Got me all sorted and the two pairs I bought have been amazing - the past few weeks, I haven't had the foot problem I was having in my Mizunos, and I'm so grateful as I train for #20! Will definitely return here when I wear these out.

I had been running in a cheap pair of shoes and went there to get fit for a good pair. The whole process is easy and their prices are the same as anything you can find online. Went back for a pair of everyday shoes. They recommended a pair which I wore around the house for a few days, they felt OK. Went out of town for a weekend trip and after walking quite a bit, my feet were aching. When I got back in town, I went back into the store where they exchanged the shoes and worked with me to find a more comfortable pair. I will buy all my athletic shoes from Potomac Run!!

The only place I purchase running shoes. Their customer service, shoe knowledge, and fit system is one of a kind. I always love my shoes when I work with PRR to select them.

They bother to properly consult you on your purchase as they FIRST, record how you naturally run on a treadmill. They then insist on finding the perfect shoe for YOU, not push a specific brand or a specific deal.

River running is the place to get all of your running needs met they have shorts and shirts but more importantly they have shoes and they will get you the best shoes you've ever had for all my time in Northern Virginia Potomac River runnings always taken care of people's feets they're making sure they have the best shoes the best insoles and the best comfort when they're hitting the road or hitting the trails So come on over and check it out
