WinCo Foods

This WinCo in South Salem is quite the gem. It's a full size WinCo, and has a great selection of food along with being a clean and safe place to shop. I've heard of people that live near the WinCo on Lancaster that choose to drive to this one because it is such a better experience. WinCo is an employee-owned store and prides itself on low prices, which it definitely has. The one shortfall is that they do not have an abundance of employees to help find items. After you walk through the store a few times you typically won't really need to find help anyways. I've used the customer service at this location and was satisfied with the help I received. I'll keep getting my groceries here as long as they are open!

Good selection, low prices. It’s nice to have access to their bulk section. The bakery has really good bagels. Look out for the green tagged items that are “extra savings”. It does get pretty busy and in the last couple of years they seem to only have a few check stands open. They do have a self check for 15 items or less.

Good quick customer service, clean store with plenty of automatic carts available. ATM and key machine located inside. Plenty of plastic bag recycling containers for you to drop off your used plastic grocery bags. Couple bunches scattered around the store, which I appreciate. Located in the far back of the store. Certainly a pleasurable shopping experience. :-)

Great place for groceries! Wonderful produce, seafood, and great choices in their bulk items. Great prices and friendly service. We shop here every week.

Plenty of variety of foods and well stocked. Checkers worked efficiently to keep people moving. Love the donuts in their deli, mmmm.

This particular WinCo has been a personal favorite among grocery stores for my family for over a decade. Always a good time.

Love WinCo, sorry Walmart! The staff, is 5 star also. This store would be nothing without their kind staff. They know how to pick their employees and the bakery, produce, and bulk sections are better than other stores, even some of the higher end ones dont hold a candle. If they dont have your cut of meat, ask them to customize your cut. Deli is very fresh and again with that 5 star staff 🥰 if i could do the work, Id be employed there. And they've always got some living flowers or bulbs and seeds that are never diseased. That i appreciate after i bought some dahlias from a festival that had some kind of worm that ate the bulbs from the inside out so it wiped out every bulb flower i had. Dont worry about that happening here. I very seldom see a plant there that comes from bulbs, perhaps for that reason. I couldnt see the worm until it had invaded evey bulb and i dug one up and found every bulb rotted to hollow fibers and some kind of , Im assuming , digested goo that used to be the the contents of the bulb. Long story sorry, but you get my drift. AND their money orders are the cheapest anywhere! They have a coinstar so i dont have to go a long way to get rid of excess coins. I've never had any bad experiences returning anything and they're very kind about helping you navigate your grocery list. Yes they will take your groceries if you ask for assistance. And they have plenty of motorized carts for disabled and bathrooms to accommodate a walker or mobility devices. Parking lot is also easy to navigate in that respect.

Always has what I need and staff goes above and beyond. Dropped a gallon of milk in line and a worker went to get another for me so I didn't lose my place.

My day of shopping was 8/11/23. My checker was the gal from Florida. She has the most infectious laugh and she absolutely made my day. It was the best encounter I've ever had at the grocery store.

Their fried chicken from the deli is delicious! Definitely recommend. The 8 pc classic chicken meal with side and 4 Hawaiian dinner rolls is very well-priced.

Best discount supermarket that there is in Salem!! The only one really. This place is usually pretty busy. Its clean and usually well stocked w product . It has good customer service. They have good signage with product ringing up correctly.
There's a customer service desk that DOES cash payroll checks ( on approval) stamps; lighters etc.
General grocery store has a bakery and deli that serves hot food. In addition they have decent selection of bulk food bins along w self serve honey both regular and organic. They also have small selection of survival food supplies and bottled water if you wish to stock up.

One of the only places in this town where I can buy strawberry cheesecake ice cream. It's made by Breyer's and it's just so good but it's equally as hard to find. This packaging is a bit different, however, as well as the name. The last time I bought it, it was simply Strawberry Cheesecake. This time it's New York Style🍓Strawberry Cheesecake and hopefully just as delicious.

They have the products I like 1st a good price. I have shopped elsewhere and I get frustrated.

Live down the street from WinCo foods. Very convenient for all of us. Everything is within walking distance
