Read's Sporting Goods

I have got to take a moment to call out Reads Sporting Good store.

I went by yesterday hoping they’d have an extra pair of the baseball pants they ordered for Jack’s (my son) team and they didn’t have his size.

Most folks probably would have shrugged and said too bad… not Reads. I had the pants with me because I wanted to show him what I was looking for (not that he needed it. He knew exactly what team I was talking about as soon as he saw my Hawks hat). So, he said let me try something… and he patched the hole, asking for nothing in return. He used his resources and his equipment and his time — but didn’t ask for anything.

Also, whilst we waited for the thingy he used to patch the pants to heat up, he showed me a really cool game he invented and we played— it requires some level of hand-eye coordination so, of course, I lost.

They also had size 12 turf shoes, which I couldn’t find anywhere else.

So all in all— just a wonderful experience.

Have been going to Read's for more than 20 years. Great local sports shop. The guys are knowledgeable and carry a great selection of quality sports equipment. Particularly great for baseball/softball. Have been pleasantly surprised with the customer service numerous times.

Pete was the main reason I became an umpire. He walked me through all the gear I needed and has become a mentor throughout these past 10 years. Quality service and truly cares about each individual customer.

Stopped in here after reading about the most recent robbery to support a hometown staple for a lot of us growing up, and then with our own kids. Everyone was still, amazingly, in good spirits! Made my way out with a new Cubs jersey, Read's Team sweatshirt and a few other goodies. Hit these guys up and support local! ♥

The owner was extremely courteous and knowledgeable about a variety of sports! Great selection of sporting equipment.

I had took my son into Reads to look at Bats. He seen the one he wanted. The guy (im sorry didnt get name) he was very helpful and was talking to my son about what kind of bat he wanted and what he was looking out of a Bat. After we looked at the bats my son found one. The guy offer to put on a new grip tape that my son wanted. When he came back he had notice that the bat wouldnt meet requirement for high school ball. He said i cant sell you this bat it dont have the requirements that you need. So they my son noticed the other the one he wanted. . So my Son walked out of the store one HAPPY KID. Thank you Reads. We have been working with Reads Sporting Goods for many many years as individual athletes, teams and coaches. Brian at reads is without a doubt the most accommodating Sports Equipment store operator in the twin cities in my opinion. His knowledge in his field is unmatched and his willingness to help in any way he can is truly a blessing. Keep up the good work Brian.

Amazing little shop. Had my husband’s high school catcher’s mitt repaired and found baseball cleats for our son who is starting T-ball this week.

Nice little mom & pop sporting goods store. Excellent customer service. Super nice. Not sure if it's priced right and I don't care. Nice to get awesome CS and support the community.

My man B eazy up at front counter knows how to run a hospitable family biz. I was in and out of the store in 5 minuets and I got EXACTLY what I needed. The plethora of baseball bats is outstanding. Also, the annual tent sale is a end of the summer classic! BEST STORE iN THE 309!!!!!!!!!!!

Best in the business! I stop by every time I’m in Bloomington because they always have great deals and what I need! They have also helped me in emergency situations, multiple times. Outstanding local business with the best customer service!

Reads Sporting Goods is always good. If they don't have it they can probably get it. The staff is very experienced and great to work with. Check them out first before going to the box stores.

They are incredibly nice and helpful. They know exactly what you need. And will help you find it. If you are a parent of a youth in sports and would like guidance, go here and not a big chain.
