BERKLEY’s Market - Knox St

Such a cute spot to grab a snack or coffee before/ after walking on the Katy trail! Similar to foxtrot, they have wine and a small market as well as pre made meals or bites to eat. Great study spot and was quiet when I went this week

Wonderful market with great food, wine, cheese and everything else you would want. Super stylish too!

**Update** we went back to see how it went and what a change! Friendly and super helpful service!

Original visit: The food looked interesting and so did the wine list but were will never know. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes waiting to be helped and trying to make eye contact with two employees behind the bar. We gave up when it became clear to us that the employees, who were not busy, were not going to help us or even explain why we weren't offered service - was the bar closed? Were we waiting for the bar tender? We finally got their attention as we were leaving to get a glass of wine somewhere else, and asked why we hadn't been helped. The strange answer: There is no cash register at the bar! They could have easily prevented our frustration and explained that we needed to order at the cash register. Perhaps the menus at the bar should indicate the peculiar process since the employees weren't willing to share that information.

Thank you for bringing La Colombe to town! Now I don’t have to go see my in-laws in Philly to get it. That alone warrants a solid 5 stars!

Saw a poor sandwich review below and wanted to add to Berkley's strong sandwich rep. Some of the best in town. The Italian is special.

Wonderful and immaculate coffee shop and market with beautiful people. Management and staff are equally amazing.

Amazing people run this place. First, and forever a RBG fan, I’m soooo happy to have Berkeley’s on Knox! They’re thoughtful, consistent, clean, and safe little bougie bodegas.

Clean, great atmosphere, love working from here. The Wi-Fi can get a little spotty, but for the most part works well

I really want to give them 5 stars and would if the place was A) not so stinky and B) not so crazy expensive. My wife and I walked in late morning and while the place is nice, pet friendly (yay!) and they play great music, it smelled worse than Market Diner on a late Sunday morning. Like there was a huge grill in the back, with a busted range hood, banging out hash browns and pancakes right next to a smoking deep fryer. It was so stinky we had to leave and now all I can smell is that stench in my clothes and hair. Literally need to shower again and toss my clothes in the wash. Such an easy problem to fix with proper ventilation. Also the prices for certain things are crazy high. I get inflation and all that but come on man, $5 for a lukewarm (at best) drip coffee? Then you want to charge me for a drip coffee refill.. and I have to go get it.. then you want me to tip you again?

To Manager: Please smell your clothes and hair when you get home tonight. BTW, I'm not alone because a friend also complained to me about the stink, so the word is out. Sure hope they sort it out because I do like the place AND if they can sort out the stench, I'll be back.
