Nantahala Outdoor Center Gatlinburg

HIGHLY recommend this location! The staff is amazing at check in, and the guides are even better and full of personality. We had Jonathon during our excursion and it was great. This was his second year doing this and he was very fond of his fellow employees, the area, and wildlife. The trip was absolutely amazing and we had zero complaints!

The store is great and they've done a great job with the interior design. They have everything you need to hike, camp, fish, or just walking downtown Gatlinburg. The sales people were nice and friendly.

NOC was the bomb!!!

Since there is not many specialty hiking stores in our part of the country, or maybe, we just have not searched, we loved this place.

From cute trinkets, to serious apparel and shoes specifically for day walking and hiking, this is the place to go.

We spent what we would have any one of those stores. So now, we will have to buy a check in bag or mail some of our stuff back home.

The store is programmed to be a one way path from the entrance to the third floor back to the register's and exit.

Visit if you need your hiking here, and any specialty walking items for you or your loved ones.

I've rafted probably 5 times on different rivers (not an expert by any means, but I feel like I have a reference point). We had the absolute BEST experience this past weekend when we rafted the Upper and Middle Ocoee. The river was great, but what made the experience for us was our guide! Debbie Sue was seriously the best! My buddy and I had our sons with us who are both small for their age. She took great care of us and took extra time and effort to fully explain what the plan was for each of the larger rapids so that our boys knew their jobs before the chaos began. She also offered my son her long sleeve because he was getting cold. She went above and beyond what was required and we truly appreciate that!

Really great store. So much stuff. All the main brands. And Derek helped us great with choosing shoes. Also very good discounts when we were present. The attic is the hidden gem, go find it :)!

Free store parking. Located at the park entrance. Great high end selection of what you might need in the park. Have scheduled white water rafting trips from there in the past.

We all agreed that we love this store and could spend millions of dollars there :) in all seriousness, this store has everything you need for an outdoor adventure of any type. The employees were extremely helpful in helping us find things we were looking for. One particular employee, a woman who was working on the upstairs section, educated us on bear activity and what we needed to stay safe. She helped us to feel a lot more confident and comfortable while hiking. She was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to speak with. We will definitely be stopping by again the next time we're in Gatlinburg.

Nice place. They have everything you need for warm or cold weather camping. They have a good kids section also. Our son went to the kids bear cave. He loved the third floor rope bridge. There is also a rock climbing wall but did not get to try it this time. We will return on our next trip to see if they have anything new.

Visited in the beginning of September. Found some really great deals up top in the clearance area and had a great conversation with an employee of the store. Unfortunately I can't remember his name but it was fun to talk with him.

This store has been a "must stop" every trip to Gatlinburg for the last decade. Each time the store is consistently clean, well stocked and welcoming. An excellent experience all around!

Absolutely the best! Our family of 14 (on 2 rafts) had a ball. All the excitement caused a lot of laughing. When it was done, we all wanted to go again, it was that good! Our guides, Mack and Noah made sure that both sides of the rafts got soaked along the way. I still can't stop smiling.

We were able to rent our trekking poles for the hike up Mt Leconte, for just 5 dollars a pair.

This is a wonderful place to visit for outdoor needs, it has camping equipment. It has all sorts of nice to choose from. They also have clothing and shoes to choose from for all your outdoor lifestyle, it's also a great place just to look around. Check it out

My go to store whether here or at Wesser. If I had the money and one was near my house I would buy all my clothes here. Top notch hiking and outdoor gear. I have been to both stores many times but the one at Wesser has best memory as I hike through it and stayed there while hiking the Appalachian trail back in the seventies.

NOC is a really cool outdoor oriented store, like an outfitter. Everything from clothes and shoes to books and hammocks. Everything you need to enjoy a lazy afternoon in the Great Smoky Mountains national park or a multi day hiking adventure. Awesome atmosphere with things for the kids to explore and play with. No trip to the park is complete without a stop at NOC.

Update 6/4/17 - Went back to NOC and had a great time. The staff is very helpful. I think they have added more things since I was here last.

Great outdoor store with a vast selection and some of the nicest souvenir t-shirts (however in-stock sizes were unfortunately limited during our visit). Merchandise was decently priced with a dense clearance section. Staff was helpful in assisting with purchases and very friendly overall!

Great outdoor store. They had all the popular name brands of outdoor equipment at good prices. The store is large and has a great layout. They had Victorinox knives at the lowest prices we had found. Jetboil stoves were also cheaper there than from REI. Stop by and see for yourself.
