I went for a instrument try out for my daughter.. The staff was very respectful and helpful. One of staf member who helped my daughter to try out the instruments did that well. He taught how to play the flute and saxophone like a teacher. He answered all the questions we had and he was very friendly to my daughter too.

The price is reasonable and hope the service will also be good. Recommending for any kind of music needs.

I spent most of my time at Volkwein's when they were on the North Side. It looks as if their transition to the new site hasn't lost any of things that I liked about them. The staff is helpful and ready to assist you. I'm looking forward to my next trip there.

Wonderful customer service and an overall exceptional experience. The EMPLOYEES go above and beyond to satisfy and answer all my questions... especially because this is my first time as a single parent to a new inexperienced 5th grade Saxophone player. I've always loved this store when I lived in the area. Very good selection of music, albeit the selection is waning. You can still order anything from them. You just may need to wait for delivery. The staff is very knowledgeable and if one doesn't have the answer, someone else in the shop can step in and help. The staff was even helpful to me when I don't live in PA anymore and gave me all the info to shop online with them.

I got my paperclip Low C Contrabass clarinet repaired TWICE here, and my bass clarinet repaired once with Mike. Let's just say, well, it's HARD finding people that do professional work on these guys. Lots of people drive hours just to get to their repair tech.

Mike consistently does a supremely professional job on these horns, and you can tell he puts an incredible amount of care making sure everything is perfectly adjusted. I will be coming back here for as long as I live in Pittsburgh.

Volkwein's has some of the most knowledgeable employees around and is one of the few places that has a great selection for marching percussion. It's not a place to come to expecting to be wowed with great prices, it is worth the extra money for the expert staff and selection.

Took up two trombones for minor repair expecting to leave them and return in a few weeks. But they took time to look them over and advise on one and repaired the other on the spot! Thanks for the great service!

I visited here in search of violin accessories. There are instruments and accessories all throughout, and if you need help, there's someone ready to assist you. Keep in mind the prices are very high. I did notice a repair shop, which is a plus.

Very nice music store. Lots of options to choose from. Lots of cool little add ons ect. Also has an on site instrument repair shop. Customer service was pretty top notch everyone I talked to that works here was very nice, helpful, knowledgeable,and professional. The price they gave me to fix my daughters clarinet wasnt to expensive either. So all in all great place. I would definitely shop here again as well as recommend them to anyone who asks about a music store or who needs an instrument fixed...

I recently got back into playing clarinet after many years of not playing. This is the best store in the Pittsburgh region that I've found. It's roomy, they have great customer service, repair techs on site, and all the accessories and music you could need. The process to get a rental for my kid was quick and easy. And their repair guys have been excellent on both of our instruments.

I needed to rent an instrument and Volkwein's filled the bill. The customer service was excellent, each person I encountered in the store was knowledgeable and eager to help this novice musician. The instrument itself was good (in fine shape, had some repairs done on it, sounds great), and the price was way better than another place in Mt. Lebanon

Everyone there was very kind and patient with my 5th grader and me. We were there to try out instruments for beginning band.

I came to Volkwein's looking for a used viola and a second violin. The store was busy with other customers, but the workers handled everyone well and were extremely helpful. He grabbed a bunch of different violins and violas for me to try. I ended up having to leave before I could make a decision because I had to get to work, but I appreciated all the help and will definitely consider going back when I have more time and a better idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks for being so accommodating!

Great experience purchasing a new trumpet for my daughter. We just happened to stop by on an "Artist Select" day, which made it extra special. No issues applying our rental credit and we walked out with a wonderful memory. Would recommend Volkwein's to anyone!

Super friendly staff, lots of options for percussion and band. Their guitar selection was light and limited just to acoustics and ukes, but there's so else to check out too. I'd you play percussion or band stuff this is the store for you.

I went in for a cork repair, and worked with Mike Hollis. He was awesome to work with :) very personable. He answered all my questions and let me try some things out to help me with my tuning situation. The guys work in in repair know their stuff! I appreciate the quick repair and service! Thanks!!!

I took my French horn here for cleaning and repairs and am very happy with the results! Ted was extremely knowledgeable and was more than happy to explain how he fixed it when I asked him. I bought my horn used about a decade ago and it has NEVER looked or sounded this good!

I am a sax player and I have been a regular customer at Volkweins for 5 years and I have been thoroughly satisfied with their service. My sax always comes out of repairs feeling fresh from the factory and they sometimes even do free adjustments. I've also bought two protec cases which the staff discounted without my having to ask. Overall the service has been friendly, knowledgeable, and very high quality. Of all the music stores I've been to this is easily the best.

My son was using a saxophone from Volkwein's for band. The instrument was in excellent shape. When we had to return the instrument due to my son no longer attending band, they were very nice and courteous, and the return process was easy and effortless. It only took a couple of minutes. There were no questions asked, and we were welcomed to come back at any time. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Volkweins has always been one of my favorite places to go. As a kid, I loved looking around through all of the music to pick out a new, special song. It brings me even more joy to do that for my own students today. The manager, Christine, is a true gem. When I brought my students to visit today, she gave them extra special treatment and really made them feel welcomed. Thank you so much!
