Best value for money. Hands down. The service is almost fast food style and you grab your food and eat or takeaway. The seating area is very basic but comfortable. Had the shawarma and it was basically enough for two servings. Its huge. The taste was okay. Had the chicken samosas. They are not as spicy as Indian samosas but still very well seasoned. Definitely one of the best cheap eats in Pittsburgh.

My husband picked up dinner on his way home. He got Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry.

This was his first time going in a while so he was very impressed by the renovations and touch screen order system. He said it was quick and loved the fact that can could pay for our food right than and there.

Chicken Tikka Masala: very good but has some spice to it. The chicken was tender and the sauce was flavorful.

Lamb Curry: had some spice as well but very good. The Lamb was seasoned good and tender as well.

Garlic Naan: Huge and good. I can only imagine what it taste like hot and fresh.

Parking: Street parking was easy.

We would definitely order again.

Looking for high quality, flavorful food? Try Salem's. "Cafeteria Style" only describes how to order...the tandori chicken was deliciously spiced and tender and the lamb shawarma was tasty. There is free, off-street parking, which is a bonus for The Strip District. A stop in Salem's Market after a meal is also recommended. Looking forward to returning soon!

Excellent spot if you want to have great tasting food and massive portions. Meat is consistently well cooked and seasoned. Big fan of the lamb curry and grilled chicken (pictured)

The market attached is also great, run by really friendly people. Prices looked fair and wide selection of meat/spices

I can’t get enough of Salem’s!
Veggie curry over rice is excellent and I’m not even a vegetarian.
There’s a spicy chili chicken I like to call crack chicken because it’s sooooo addicting and delicious!
Staff is super friendly and helpful as well if you aren’t too familiar with the cuisine.

My family and I had a great experience. There's so much variety in every section of the store from the produce to the frozen section. There's so many new products to try that you'll never find at your average supermarket, it's so refreshing. The people who work there are amazing and have great energy. I'm so excited to go back and try some more new things.

Outstanding food! If you are looking for a good, clean meal in the Pittsburg area, this is the place! We had mostly vegetarian items and they were great. If i lived in Pittsburg id eat here 2-3x per week!

Had a hankering for a good gyro, and Salem's did not disappoint. Good sized gyro, seasoned very well, great sauce, and plied high with meat.

My absolute favorite. Every time I've been to Pittsburgh, I have visited Salem's and I just loved it. I like the grill section better than the curry. Truth be told, the curry isn't that great. They make the best steak I've ever eaten for the price ($16). I eat exclusively halal, so my sample size isn't very big and therefore take my opinion with a grain of salt (and pepper, pun intended). Last time I tried grilled red snapper, it was very good too. The portion is very generous. Keep up the good work.

Coming from a Greek family it’s fair to say our standards are high when it comes to Greek food, and Salems never disappoints. The platter in the photo was a spread they put together for a party, and just the aesthetics alone were amazing. Highly recommend this place for the butcher as well. For our Easter celebrations we get all our goat, lamb, and chicken from here. It’s so nice being able to do all our shopping in one place.

Great Place!
Amazing Halal Food.
Great varieties.
Friendly Staff.
Separate prayer room upstairs.

If you order one of their meals it will be loaded with meat 🍖 🥩 so make sure you go there with empty stomach.

Their Bacon Cheeseburger 🍔 and chicken burger is great as well.

Absolutely fantastic Mediterranean food. Loved by locals. The gyro and garlic naan are some of the best in town. The bread is so good. The naan portion is big, and good to split with 2 people.

Service was good. Food was served quickly considering how busy it was. My only complaint was that my food came out cold. Tables and floors are also kept clean, no crumbs or sticky mystery messes.

Atmosphere is nice, the dine in area is recently renovated. Plenty of tables, bar seating around the restaurant, sleek touchscreens and two in-person ordering stations ease congestion.

Pittsburgh’s BEST CURRY & MOST FLAVORFUL GRILL, plus an EXCELLENT GROCERY.

The eatery is superbly aromatic from the cacophony of spices and smell of grilling meats…enter with your nose and enjoy the wondrous fragrances of a wild mixture of Arabic, Indian subcontinent, Greek, and Turkish cultural influences.

The best curry meal is on offer (lamb, goat, chicken, vegetable); lovely balance of spices, little heat, seasoned well.—-I am partial to the goat.

From grill, they have best lamb skewers, lamb chops and beef skewers. Have a full order of green or Greek salador tabouleh or chickpea salad with it and you’ll have a feast.—I’m partial to grilled lamb and tabouleh.

On the weekends, splurge on beef ribs, braised lamb shanks, roasted chicken.

For meat salads, go for Shawarma salad, it’s scrumptious.

For American burger eater, go for the Double lamb burger with feta cheese and beef bacon (yes beef bacon!. It’s a whole-pounder for the big carnivore.

Then step next door for the grocery, best beef, lamb, chicken and goat—this is my go to butchers. Have your order cleaned, cut however you wish, they’re very efficient. The store is great place to also shop for spices, tea, exotic fruit, and Turkish/Mediterranean sweets.

Salems market has been my go to place for almost everything for over a decade now. Can’t beat the delicious value you get loading up on their lunch box. So much rice, chicken curry, goat curry, with spicy spinach and paneer. Feeds me for at least 3 meals. Any sandwich they make with their naan and garlic Mayo will slap hard. I suggest trying the schwarma or cheesesteak. Now the real surprise of this amazing middle eastern restaurant, a halal bacon cheeseburger. Truly the best bacon cheeseburger in the city. Their beef bacon will not disappoint. If you like it enough check out their butcher next door, along with their full middle eastern grocery store.

Truely amazing place for Asian food lovers specially from the subcontinent (India, Pakistan & Bangladesh). Exclusive Halal food available with authentic spices and taste. It's not only the incredible quality but also the quantity of food which offers value for money. The restaurant offers take away and dinning option. The Market place offers you all authentic Asian Grocery, Sweets and much more. Friendly staff, Specially Mohd. Aziz, what a nice personality. Ample parking around. Overall an awesome experience!

We love this place! We live about an hour away but usually come every couple months to eat here. The food is always worth the drive, and we know we won’t be disappointed! We came in November and also in January, and even though they didn’t have seating inside, they had metal tables and chairs outside, and we just went on “warmer” winter days and wore warm clothes.
