Arteaga's Food Center

Wow. Didn’t expect to find such a great variety of freshly made foods. Minutes old tortillas, warm and fresh off the press. Fantastic selection of fresh cheeses, sour creams, salsas, guacamoles and more right from the counter near the meat department (we ran out of time because we ended up getting so much stuff). Definitely recommend this place!

I was extremely impressed with the store. Not only was it well stocked and well merchandised, it was very clean and orderly.
Staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered masa for tamales and had it ready for us when we needed it. Well worth shopping at!

This is the premier grocery store in Gilroy. They have a great produce department. Their meat department is top notch. They make the best frest salsa and have delicious fresh cheeses. They also make home made tortillas and tortilla chips fresh daily.

I may not have been born fully Hispanic but I'll tell you one thing, my stomach and taste buds sure were! I love this stores friendly nature and kindness they radiate aswell as the selection of in house freshly made tortillas & chips and many other items.

One of my most memorable experiences was when I went to buy an ice cream cone on a hot day but their vanilla wasn't in the vanilla spot so the associates and myself taste tested all the ice creams to find it. Then make sure they were correctly marked we tasted the rest.(although I have to admit the small scoop they gave me in a cup cause she forgot I said cone was kinda over priced IMHO at $4.99 but I was willing to pay it.)

Note: I can't speak to their taqueria as I have not tried it YET.

The other day while at work on my break, I was deciding what vegetables and fruits we would need for the house hold and I decided to stop by the grocery store on the way home from work. for the past few weeks I've been going to the Nob Hill and the Safeway because they are closer to my house. After I came to Arteaga's it will be difficult for me to go back to the regular chain grocery stores the produce and the meats are just so much better for some reason. there's no self check out and stuff like that but if I'm not in a rush I don't mind.

They have great breakfast burritos. I opt out of the fries and add a little bit of refried beans. Their carnicería has so many cuts and choices. Don't forget the nopal salad.

All kinds of different ceviches made. Queso frescos and their Carniceria is awesome good little place to shop

Check out the food court. Tacos were better than I thought

Good produce and great salsas and crema and great meat counter. They also make their own tortillas and they are the best. If you're making Mexican food go here to get your ingredients.
12/31/2022 update: Still great place to shop for things that you can't get in a regular grocery store. Prices are very good here as well.

Great produce and meat. Very helpful employees. They make there own tortillas. The food court has the best pork tacos. Then there is the chicken salad and ceviche section.

What a beautiful clean market! Everything placed neatly and the produce!! I was looking for cactus paddles. To be honest they were my second store. For now on they will be my first store. Stocked beautifully! And top of the line produce bags. And yes, that matters to this woman. Thank you!

Arteaga has fair rices and all the employees went out of their way to help. Good shopping.

We went to Arteaga's on this past Saturday for the first time. The food was delicious, fresh and prompt. We had the "mexican plate", the "enchilada dinner" and topped it with "super nachos". Cooked the way we liked. (No cilantro). Service was friendly. We will be back.

Store wise they have a good variety for a novelty store. Meat section is always good. But there food court is amazing. I go for their taco platters always cooked perfectly.

I stopped by this store in Gilroy, taking a break from driving off the freeway, and glad I did. Great prices, big store, and a variety of fresh Mexican food, and plenty of other products, not just Mexican products. I purchased quite a bit, and would recommend to everyone. And not just as a pit stop lol 😎

I like this store. I can get anything here that I need for all Mexican groceries and more. Love the fresh cheese and salsa section. I like the produce section because they have everything you could need and it's all fresh.

My husband loves there breakfast burritos he will even get their just before they open to get the first one off the griddle, then there's my mom and I we love there refried beans so good they remind me of my grandmothers beans.

I've been working in Gilroy for 4 yrs. I've been cashing my checks at Arteagas for 4 yrs. Never had any issues with them!.. they have never given me any problems, or questions!. They also make really good authentic, Mexican food!..

Great prices, vegetables and meats. Their avacados are so much better than any other store! This grocery store is better stocked than any other in Gilroy. I often find Artiegas has items other stores are out of. And they have a great restaurant inside.

Good food and good food selection.
