Modern Times Far West Lounge

Very friendly service & good beer. We had lunch here and the food was also very good. Definitely recommend the loaded fries with the plant based taco meat. I loved the Brussels sprouts, they are prepared so that most of the moisture has cooked out of them and the resulting sprout is super light and crunchy. Absolutely delicious. The burrito was also pretty good.

I’m a huge brewery goer and this place was an epic one!!! Very retro vibes. Beer was TASTY! I didn’t get food and I wish I did because people say really good things about it! When I’m in California again, I will absolutely go back!!!

Really cool place. I came here to sit and get some work done on my laptop while having a drink or two and this spot is perfect. I came mid afternoon during the week and it's not too crowded or loud at all. I sat at the bar and the bartender Rick was so amazing and helpful and nice. He helped me pick out the perfect drink for me. They have an awesome lineup of beer, but sadly, I can't have beer, so she helped me pick a nice wine. I also ordered the loaded fries which were very good as well. I'm really happy I stumbled upon this place! I definitely want to come back next time I'm in Encinitas!

its pretty good if you want to stop by for good beer and bites. Food is all plant based but still was ok, we just tried the loaded fries with “carne asada” i figured later its plant based meat. atmosphere was good, mixed with retro and modern, beer was good , staff was friendly, restrooms were clean. what else you expect from a brewery branch. Also its dog/pet friendly.

Popped in to get a few beers and some food to go.

After we ordered the steak crunchwraps, we realized it was completely vegan (our mistake, or was it?)

Upon getting home and taking our first couple of bites we were delighted with the flavors. It was fantastic and the lack of meat did not take away from how good the food was. We will definitely be going back!

Five stars all the way. Great beer, seltzer, wine opps and the ‘all plant based’ menu is everything and AMAZING! Pic of patty melt. Yummmmm

I went back to tip more because both my wife and I were pleased with the quality of service and especially food for the price.
We had a couple of light beers we were pleased with. Shared the French fry appetizer - extremely happy with. The sauces and French fries appeared to be scratch made!

This is my favorite taproom in the San Diego area. Phenomenal draft list with equally impressive guest taps. Service is friendly and quick. Can’t speak towards the food, but everything sounded good despite it all being vegan. The vibe has sort of a retro feel with a modern touch. Love that they have a large to go fridge and windows that open to the outside on nice days. This is the type of brewery/taproom you can spend hours at enjoying yourself.

I have had many great experiences here. I usually sit up at the bar and the staff are all super knowledgeable and friendly. One thing to note is that it can get really crowded on days that are sunny/summer days when the beach is crowded. This goes for all of downtown Encinitas. Lots of people bring their dogs as well so that is a huge plus

Great space! The bench stadium is very cool and totally unique. The retro vibe is super fun and obviously the beer is always fantastic. So excited to have a MT location closer to where my family lives. Can’t wait to visit again!

One of the best breweries in San Diego finally opens a North county tasting room! Great beers! Oh and by the way, amazing vegan food that as a meat eater makes it easy to forget I'm not vegan. Service was amazing too.

Wow! What a place to eat and drink at! First off, this is a vegan restaurant so if that’s not your thing, I’d highly recommend going somewhere else for food. I used to work for this company right when they blew up and before this place was finished and I must say I am impressed by how this spot became to be. It’s much more spacious than the north park location and has a kitchen which features a ton of great and monstrous vegan plates. The burrito is huge and so good! The beer, oh the beer!! If you love good craft beer, meet here, because they brew some of the best in the city! Cheers old team, keep up the great work!

Was pleasantly surprised seeing one of my favorite breweries in Encinitas. Their bar menu is fully vegan, which is amazing in itself, and crazy tasty! Pair this with delicious beer and we got one of the hottest places on the 101.

Awesome beers as expected from Modern Times! Super chill spot with an amazing place based menu that was superb!! Staff went above and beyond to make our group comfortable.

Love this local bar. I got the potato chorizo burrito. It’s massive! I shared with my friend. Perfect place for an afternoon. It’s bright and open, lots of bar seating. All the food is vegan.

Great beer, great staff, great experience! Loved some of the lighter IPAs and the barrel aged stouts. Dog friendly indoors.

Love the vibe. It's laid back, tons of windows, with good beer options. Enjoyed the guava sour I had. There's also a dog corner if you want to bring your dog!
