El Agave's Mexican Restaurant

The burrito was big enough for 2-3 people and was tasty. I just had half for breakfast. They give chips and salsa for free, which is why a lot of people would choose Mexican food in the first place. Restaurant was clean. The service was attentive without being intrusive.

Only issue I had was you could smell the bathroom cleaner halfway through the restaurant. Guess that is better than smelling old food and crusty stuff. BTW, the bathroom was clean too. So if the dining room is orderly and clean, as well as the bathrooms, then you can assume that the management cares and that the kitchen is clean and your food is made safely and with attention to detail.

Bonus: the booths had high padded backs which were not only comfortable but blocked out a lot of the other unwanted sounds. It’s a great place to go and share a meal for this especially if you get distracted by a lot of noise.

Good food and large portions for cheap prices! They have the standard selection of American style Mexican food that you would expect, and you can usually get 2 days worth of meals out of a single dish. It's hard to predict how crowded this place will be because sometimes it's packed and sometimes it's deserted, but the service is usually quick regardless. Better than Margarita's!

This is the first time I have visited this restaurant, I am extremely satisfied with the food and the service. The food is exquisite and beautifully presented. The staff are so sweet natured. The place is decorated with many beautiful artistic displays. The photos attached are of the burrito mexicano, the taco bowl and the stake fries. The food has great flavor and the wait wasn’t that long. You also have a choice to have hot sauce added or given upon request. I love the atmosphere and the servers kindness. I definitely will be coming back here again very soon! This is the best Mexican restaurant I have been to and the attention they have gotten from me and many others is well deserved!

Had and AMAZING LUNCH and time at this very friendly and CLEAN restaurant. Very Impressed with the REAL chicken and steak stuffed full in our burritos and chimichangas with the side of fresh veggies and delicious rice. The homemade salsa is AMAZING! We tried the skinny margarita for our drink and let me just say that this restaurant goes the extra mile with fresh squeezed oranges and limes making the margarita pure and honest but still fun. Last but not least...the servers/staff is always smiling and friendly making you feel welcomed. I had our server and another checking in on us along with a Manager that came by to see how everything was. Super impressed and will be coming back time and time again!! Thank you El Agave's for having such standards and not cutting corners in service or quality of food.

Oh my jeepers the food is just amazing. Highly recommend the pulled chicken tacos. Everything was delicious food is high quality. Servers were awesome. They messed up my friend's order but quickly remedied the problem. I wish there was one in buffalo I would go all the time.

VERY good! I drove around a while bc there was no Parking and a line. But me and the man really wanted to eat here bc we've heard great things. So we finally parked across from them went in and they told us 30min wait. So I gave them my number and went to sit in the car as it was packed. Within 5 minutes we were texted to come in. Not to mention the staff was overly friendly and VERY attentive!! We had salsa, chips, and drinks and placed our order within 10 minutes max. Our waitress was so sweet and only came to the table if she noticed an empty plate or a glass that needed refilling. We will definitely return! Oh also the food was amazing!!

Very friendly people,they make you feel like family, Thursday nightst my parents go to date night and enjoy talking with Victor and all the staff. I love the fact that my parents look forward to going there , the food is amazing.. margaritas are pretty good too👍

I don't get these complaints, i love the food. If you want good service go when it is not busy, the waiters very heavily hispanic, it's hard for them so going from table to table with ignorant white people must be hard when they expect top tier everything. If you want something overpriced go to water st. Honestly, their margaritas are delicious, the food is always good whenever i go, my daughter loves their chicken tenders w/ fries, and maybe if your complaining about the waiters-have you ever tried actually being nice and talking to them like humans? I've had one spotty service there, and it was because the table behind us were prudes (must be someone on the reviews page) and they were trying to make their experience better, but they were instantly turned off when the chip guy didn't ask if they wanted a drink (not his job, btw). The prices are honestly fantastic for this economy, free chips and salsa, when most places they cost like $5.

I stopped in for lunch one day and ordered the Choripollo and I loved every bite. The speed of the staff was spot on and the food came out hot and loaded woth flavor. Will definatly be stopping in again next time I'm in the area.

Best Mexican food I’ve had! The quality of their food was so good. Everything was fresh and the vegetables didn’t seem like they had been left sitting out like it does at other places. The spices they used on my meat were perfect and the steak was tender. Easily the best rice I’ve ever had. I’ll be returning.

It was really good, affordable, and a good atmosphere. They have free chips and salsa up on arrival and sell margaritas by the pitcher for just $25. How can you go wrong? Who wouldn't have a good time?!

This is a VASTE improvement over the Ruby Tuesday that used to be in this location. The server was a bit confused over enchilada substitutions (wanted spinach instead of cheese) but the manager made it happen! Food was great, prices are very reasonable and the margaritas are big and tasty! We will surely be back!!

Finally found a decent Mexican restaurant in our part of Maine! Been 3 times in a few weeks and enjoyed it each time. The cheese dip is great with the chips and salsa. Main dishes are very enjoyable and well sized so you’ll have some to take home. Service is good, restaurant is clean, food is tasty. We’ll be back again soon.

Great 1st time experience at this authentic style Mexican restaurant The menu was amazing and the prices are great for the amount of food you get.
Our service was amazing and the drinks were delicious. Not a long wait for a midday experience at all but will have to go back and see this place again on the weekend. Overall great experience.

Delicious! It's not easy finding authentic Mexican and I'm used to the great Mexican in Texas!

This is one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch when I need a break from the shop. Great food, service, and atmosphere. The collaboration with cushnoc to have their own beer made is amazing.

It is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever eaten. The chips they served before the meal wsn warm and crispy, I usually don't like the salsa but theirs is delicious. My chicken lunch fajita was out of this world, it was so tender and tasty 😋 also a good portion as well.
I have celiac disease so I am aware that because they have corn tortilla that doesn't mean they have a dedicated GF kitchen, so I have my enzyme with me and I am good to go.
Service was excellent and everyone had a big smile. I think they just became my favorite restaurant.

No matter what, you leave full and happy. This is Augusta PREMIERE AND PREMIUM Mexican food. As you may or may not know main is a hidden mecha for authentic Mexican food in the north, but even amongst these hidden gems El agave stands out, and let me tell you no ones perfect and handling mistakes is part of greatness, if ever somethings wrong tjey will IMMEADIATLY fix the problem with a smile! One hundred stars out of five.

Pretty darn good Mexican restaurant for Maine. Better food than Margaritas in my opinion (more authentic flavors). Good for a quick lunch. I thought the tacos al pastor was nice and had a little heat too.
