Manchester has "Cat 🐈 Alley", Derry has the Rail Trail Painted Wall, Portsmouth used to have the "Whaling Wall", which fell into disrepair and was removed in reconstruction. But! Now Portsmouth has "Shark 🦈 Wall", which I hope 🤞 will remain!
Located on the side of Granite State Minerals, Inc. building, but facing out towards Ceres Street, this attraction 🧲 draws people to have photos of "Jaws" or "the Meg" moments. When I last visited, about seven people in two groups arrived to take photos. I even have a photo of my son standing in front of the "shark 🦈". The shark is actually attacking a seagull.
The artist who painted the shark goes by the name Shark Toof. It was commissioned years ago by the Portsmouth Museum of Art 🎨. The shark and seagull have survived, but, it looks like someone covered up graffiti that was next to the shark.
If you want to make a comical photo of yourself or others being eaten by a "landshark"and are in the area, stop by and check ✔ it out.
There is a sign from the Black Heritage Trail next to the shark.
