Napoletana Pizzeria and Bar

My wife and I had never been to Portsmouth and circled the city a few times prior to choosing this establishment for an early dinner. Upon arrival, the staff was already very attentive, and was eager to serve. It was also pointed out by our server that we were within the timeframe of happy hour… half price appetizers and price reductions on certain beverages. My wife and I don’t mind spending money on anything food related, however, it was nice to have the added cost break of happy hour. What was amazing is that our server reminded us of the time, so we could receive the reduced prices; not the usual for employees who work for tips. We were impressed. We ordered a couple of appetizers and a couple of salads. One item, I believe it was called gnocco fritto, was a super crunchy fried dough with strips of prosciutto, olive oil , and shaved parmesan on top. It wasn’t exactly what we were looking for, but it became a wonderful accompaniment for our salads. My wife ordered a Caesar salad and I ordered an antipasto salad, featuring a nice blend of pickled vegetables, olives and romaine lettuce. It was zippy and refreshing. We also ordered Brussel sprouts and they were fantastic. Recalling from memory, I believe they were coated with a lemon breadcrumb, Calabrian pepper, balsamic, and olive oil. We had a couple glasses of the house selection red wine and did not order dessert.
Our server was wonderful all the way through, and we really enjoyed conversing with her over the course of the dinner. You won’t be disappointed if you find your way to this cozy spot while traveling; you will be made to feel right at home. Bon appetitto!

Visiting Portsmouth from Houston. On a whim, we wanted to have dinner here and it was definitely the right choice! Between us we had the shrimp scampi, prosciutto and arugula pizza, and rigatoni. All were great! Not to mention the gnocco fritto appetizer and tiramisu dessert. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Italian options.

Recommend for a casual Friday for drinks, appetizers and pizza. I wouldn’t say it’s quite pizza “napoletana” but the quality pizza is still there and we really enjoyed it and our drinks as well! Will be returning!

Absolutely fantastic experience! We were able to be seated 10 mins before our reservation time. Music and atmosphere of restaurant were fantastic. Best Italian food I’ve had in a long time! Our waitress was wonderful and attentive to our party. Will be back again soon!

We had 27 family members from out of of state join us for a send off dinner for daughter and her fiancé as they are moving cross country. The staff was very accommodating from the time I made reservations to the set up of tables and the location of our large party. We were able to move to each table to chat the way it was set. The food was excellent, we have a couple people who are gluten free and there are choices including the pizza. Thank you to the staff at NapoletanaPizzeria and Bar.

Walked in and set a reservation. The wait was 45 minutes. 2 spots opened up at the bar so we sat there.

Ordered a couple of libations and a small Mushroom and tartufo pizze (flatbread piizza). We should have ordered a large as it was so delicious! Sorry, I forgot to take pictures!

The service was quick even though they were quite busy.

Pizza and fries were good, staff was very accommodating for our infant. Good street view as we got corner seat opposite of Christmas tree. Overall it was relaxed dinner. Will come again soon!

I have several food allergies that the waitress and manager were very attentive to. Substitutions were offered that were very good! We all enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere was great. Highly recommend!

The food was excellent, my husband and I got the truffle fries, margarita pizza, sausage & broccolini pasta, and Cesar salad. The truffle fries were easily the best we’ve ever had. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. We are absolutely coming back!
