Please do yourself a favor and try out this coffee shop! I have tried the vanilla lavender latte and the salted caramel dirty chai and both were SO good! Just went back twice in the same day. The coffee its self is so good and the way the beverages are crafted is perfect. I love the flavorful layer of foam on top of the hot beverages - honestly already thinking how sad I’m going to be once my Morro Bay trips are ends and I won’t have access to this coffee shop anymore.

10/10 must try.

My husband picked up coffee from Groggy Scallywag Coffee Shop twice in November 2023 while we were in town for vacation. It was the BEST coffee we've had from a coffee shop anywhere. On his second visit, he ordered me the Mocha hot and a Carmel Macchiato for himself. I don't typically like the Carmel Macchiato he would get at other establishments but I asked my husband to try it and it was AMAZING! I wish we had found this place sooner. He had picked up the coffee on our way out of town and I seriously contemplated turning around to get more. The service was also wonderful and very welcoming. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town! The 5 stars this establishment has are very well deserved!

Best coffee I’ve ever had! Highly recommend her iced caramel macchiato or ask for a white chocolate raspberry mocha. Everything on her drink menu is delicious! The owner is awesome and brings such a comforting atmosphere to her amazing coffee shop!!

My girlfriend and I went here for the first time and we had a wonderful experience. The lady working was very nice and informative and the atmosphere was great. She got the caramel macchiato and I the peppermint white mocha which was sooo good. The chocolate muffin was also very delicious. We will definitely be returning here again.

I was visiting Morro Bay and noticed this cute little coffee shop that had just opened up. I was told they only opened a couple weeks ago and I hope it remains that way. I had a caramel macchiato (add Lavender) and can confidently say that was the best coffee I’ve had. I’m hoping to return in a few weeks and this spot is definitely on my visit list.

Went to Morro Bay on vacation and got a chance to get coffee(two of the days we were there cuz it’s so good!!), bagels with cream cheese and sticker. Great quality food, service and atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again

Super awesome people, the guy was really friendly and genuine. Loved his jokes too! Also sold beautiful jewelry with a cool backstory, when we are back in the area we’ll be getting our coffee here!

I was in town visiting for a couple of days and after visiting a couple other coffe shops, I found this place. Definitely a cut above the rest. If your looking for a coffee spot in the area this is it. Now I have a coffe spot that I will be returning too when in the Morro Bay area.

Amazing oat milk latte! With even better views of the rock just steps away from the shop!

The owners were super warm & inviting. My family & I visit Morro bay several times throughout the year. I ordered a oat milk latte & instantly fell in love. The coffee was amazing so I had to make sure to get one for the road. Will absolutely be going back.

The people here are amazing and super friendly. Their coffee was delicious probably the best caramel macchiato I had in the last few years. Just the right amount of sweetness to the coffee ratio. My new favorite coffee shop in Morro bay

In town for a week to visit family and did the "Morro Bay Coffee Tour" (meaning we just went to a different coffee shop each morning since Morro Bay has so many good and local ones). Of the five shops we tried, Groggy Scallyway was our absolute favorite. Yummy mochas with a dark roast taste (my favorite was the dark chocolate, but the Mexican chocolate was also pretty amazing) and friendly atmosphere. A must if you are visiting Morro Bay!

Nestled along the harbor of Morro Bay, this coffee shop has it all. Friendly service. Tasty Pastries. Zippy Espresso. And light/dark roast coffee from a local, award winning roaster.

If you're looking to take on the seven seas, stop in here first, matey.

The owners are super amazing! The drinks were delightful. Highly recommend the Dark Mocha coffee and Watermelon Lemonade.
