Shipley Do-Nuts

I've been donut free now for about 10 years, or I was. I don't eat them because I try to eat healthy and stay away from junk food. In addition to that I never know what goes into making a donut, hydrogenated oils, food coloring, artificial flavors and sweeteners, that's not for me. All that changed when I walked into the breakroom where I work and there sitting on the table was a box of Shipley donuts. I also notice the ingredients are clearly printed on the side of the box, and I'm surprised, only 8 simple ingredients are included. Now, if you know me I'm usually the one who likes to look at what's in my food as much as I can. I like to point out all the garage ingredients that are used in so many foods nowadays... hydrogenated this, artificial that, a little dash of MSG here, or food coloring there... all garbage I tell you! But, when I realized that Shipleys donuts are made with 8 simple ingredients, I had to try one. So I broke my fast of 10 years being donut free. Oh man, was it worth it! Now I don't confess to being a donut connnoisseur, but in my humble opinion Shipleys donuts are the best I've ever had, period!

Delicious and cheap. We had a cinnamon stick, a bear claw, a chocolate glazed and a raspberry filled. All great.

The employee who served me was kind, understanding, and provided the best customer service I have ever received at any donut shop. As a donut addict of many many years, that is saying something. Thank you so much anonymous morning Shipley's Lady. You made my day and I hope to see you again soon!

Excellent doughnuts for a snack or quick breakfast in a nice old building. The service is unbeatable with friendly people at the shop. Shipley’s is so much better than the other options downtown and low-key. A little more advertising might help attract customers walking downtown, although they seem to sell out usually anyway.

It’s just a fun snack what else could you ask for specially when it comes to doughnuts and the service is quick and fast and if you not sure what to order the people here are so friendly and patient which makes me so happy

Pop-in, pop-out donut spot, I love stopping by to see Anna for a treat. I'm a big fan of the filled donuts, and they have a good selection. They aren't made on location, so temper expectations on that front, but they are solid and super affordable nonetheless.

Not a very nice store, but I'm pretty sure that's kinda the point. The bavarian filled donut is maybe the best donut I've ever had. The coffee is pretty weak and it tastes great. Donut shop coffee shouldn't be strong and this isn't. Woman working was very nice. If I lived here I'd go often.

Husband went to get us donuts this morning and he said not far at all from our hotel on the riverwalk. Server was very nice and it was clean with a good selection! I have no complaints because these apple fritters are the bomb and hits the spot!

Was in San Antonio for a couple days, and came here nearly every morning for breakfast. Fresh donuts every morning for incredible prices, friendly service, and a very pleasant atmosphere all around. Would absolutely recommend if you like Dunkin, Donuts, or good breakfast.

Just visited Shipley Do-Nuts and it was great! The young man working was very pleasant, kind and polite. There were plenty of donuts and even had Kolaches. They were very fresh and very delicious! Thank you!

Donuts were warm fluffy and melt in your mouth tender. We don't have anything like kolac.... well you know what I mean in Miami the sausage and jalapeño ones were delish! I got up early and walked there from my hotel 2 mornings in a row. Worth the walk and @75 cents a doughnut worth the price.

This donut shop manages to have queues of people waiting for its gourmet donuts. Prices are reasonable and there is plenty of styles to choose from
Cake donuts are crisp on the outside, tender and moist on the inside lightly glazed outside.
The jelly donuts are big and pillow like. Jelly donuts are filled with a generous amount of not-too-sweet jam.
Custard donut are filled with custard that doesn't taste like somebody's industrial vanilla pudding mix.
Frosting is generous also, but glaze should be light, since too much glaze makes for an overly sweet donut.
French (eggy cruller)is very delicate & airy, while nothing is greasy
Strong drip coffee is a perfect addition, and ice-cold milk.
You'll leave feeling as stuffed as the doughnut you just consumed.
