Halcyon Southtown

We came in during a shift change, but our bartender was sweet and helped us right away. Drinks and atmosphere were great. Met a waitress from the neighboring restaurant, Leah, and I can't wait to go try the pizza. Over all amazing experience and vibe. Haven't been to Blue Star in almost 10 years and it's officially one of my favorite spots again. Yall go visit Leah at Holmes Slice!

Nice spot for after dinner hangout. They have a full bar here. Order to your hearts content. My cappuccino was fantastic. Love the ambience. Funky and country all in one. Lots of places to sit and chat including outdoor. Great for studying with friends or get together. Definitely a must visit. Service was excellent. Plenty of private parking. A must visit in San Antonio.

This place was really cool. The cocktails were amazing. The Sin+Tonic is exceptional. We had the smores as a snack while we enjoyed our cocktails, and the atmosphere was so chill and fun. I would say this is a great place to stop on a Saturday night!

First time here. Had brunch. The fried Egg Sandwich was delicious so were the potatoes. The atmosphere was so cozy and welcoming. The strawberry iced coffee was different but delicious. What a wonderful first impression. Great place to converse with friends or partner.

Very cool spot! The service was wonderful, atmosphere is super rad and the coffee was amazing! I’m always nervous ordering an iced latte somewhere new but it was absolute perfection!! I got the iced caramel latte with cold foam😍
If ever in the area again I will be back!

Found this spot today while I was driving around the area and absolutely fall in love with this place. I tried their cappuccino and chocolate cake and both were spot on. A cool place to hang out with friends or just by yourself.

Was in town visiting from Austin for the weekend. Outstanding service!! Front desk hosts allowed me to bring my service pet in to dine in. My waitress Veronica, incredibly sweet and very tentative! Atmosphere, food & coffee were excellent. Definitely plan to comeback again soon.

I much prefer this location over the one in Austin. The interior is appealing with exposed brick, warehouse style windows, and natural lighting. I had a cortado and an americano; both were great. I wouldn’t recommend if you need a quiet place to study/work, but if you’re okay with light noise or have headphones, this is a terrific spot.

Such a great spot for breakfast. Sometimes I come just for the espressos or coffees which are always made to the highest professional standard and taste amazing. They have indoor or outdoor seating (which overlooks the riverwalk) and when the weather is nice its quite enjoyable to just sit outside and enjoy my latte.

Had a really nice breakfast. The food was prepared quickly, and the servers were really nice and welcoming. The portions were big and the mimosas were delicious.

I love this place. Been coming for a while and Riley is our new favorite bartender! Can we talk about her skills a little more? Highly recommend getting a cocktail made by this young lady!

Great atmosphere, bartenders are nice, service is good. Couldn't really ask for much more, food is great.

To Be honest..

I didn't have any food. We can for the first time and I got a drink and listen to theAWESOME DJ that they had. Love the vibe of this place. Would totally come here to hang out on a nice day.. especially if they had the DJ that was here today. Loved it!!

First timer here, found just by searching on google. Food was fast and inexpensive for the location. Parking was free! Staff was friendly. The chicken was so good! You can catch me visiting this place again soon!

Great brunch! The skillets are generous and very good. Chicken and Waffle w Bacon was excellent. Chicken cooked to perfection with a light batter, Flavorful bacon, perfectly Crisp Waffle. Everyone including the 4 year old in the party liked then experience. I recommend highly.

We have to day this place was very nice and had good food.

So by far the best part is that they have dollar mimosas with the purchase of an entree. I got the scramble and my friend got the steak and eggs. Both plates were really great, and the coffee was also yummy. Would highly suggest eating here.

This is my go-to coffee spot and I can’t believe I hadn’t reviewed it before. I live in the northeast part of the country now but the few times a year I come down I always come here. Even when I try new places in SA, I still always make my way here. I love the vibe. Tables and comfy chairs/couches inside, and seating outside as well. Lattes and food are really good. Sometimes if you come on a busy day you’ll stand in line for a bit and so it will take time for your order to come out but it’s never been that bad. I’ve had brunch here and it’s really good; I’m glad they have gluten free options. Workers are always nice and friendly. I’ve also come here late at night for drinks. I think hh has $6 sangria!

Probably what I love the most is that it’s right on the river trail. Sometimes I’ll grab a latte to go and walk the trail. If you want you can take it straight to the downtown riverwalk in about 30-35 minutes. There are also bikes nearby as part of the city bike rentals.

Food and drinks were great, so was the service. The DJ in the restaurant was a little loud for us but we're not young anymore and prefer talking to each other over music but still was a break change.

I went to Halcyon this past weekend for brunch with one of my friends. This was my first time ever going to this restaurant so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

When we arrived, the place was crowded. Absolutely no room to park in the small parking lot behind Halcyon. Eventually, we parked on the street in a nearby neighborhood and just walked over. It wasn't a terrible walk so we honestly didn't mind. There wasn't a line at the front so someone was immediately able to seat us. The only available place for us to sit was outside at the tiny bar, which we settled for. Eventually, when one of the tables freed up my friend and I migrated over to it and took a seat there. We still ended up sitting outside but neither of us minded since the weather was just PERFECT.

We were quickly served our drinks after we sat down. I ordered the cappuccino and my friend ordered the Long Island Iced Coffee. The cappuccino was honestly one of the best that I've had in a while. The flavor was good and intense. I also loved how they put a bear on top of my drink. It looked almost too pretty to drink! The Long Island Iced Coffee was also great! It was pretty strong but the flavor was so nice that it didn't really matter.

The food took an oddly long time to arrive after we ordered it but it was so busy that we kind of understood. Luckily, we brought a card game to play while we waited so it didn't feel like forever. Eventually, our food arrived. I ordered the Overnight French Toast and my friend ordered the Eggs Benedict. The Overnight French Toast was not what I was expecting it to be, it was honestly better than what I was expecting. It was fresh, and well-presented. The cream cheese on top was amazing. It wasn't too sweet, but just perfect. The fruit on tp paired perfectly with the cream cheese topping. The chocolate on top was hidden beneath the cream cheese so it surprised me but it was an amazing addition to the dish.

The staff at Halcyon were friendly but not exceptional. I liked their atmosphere and the DJ that they had playing music during their brunch hours. I am also a huge fan of their dog-friendly atmosphere. I just wasn't a fan of their small parking lot, and their prices are a bit high for what they're offering.

Overall, I would highly recommend Halcyon to anyone looking for a cute place to go for brunch. You might have to splurge a bit but it is totally worth it.
