Excellent care !
We have been bringing our dogs for daycare, and they love coming!

We have also used the boarding and feel comfortable they are in good hands.
We love getting pictures while we are away .
Tara and Adam do an amazing job caring for our fur babies .
Kristen has groomed our goldendoodle and does a wonderful job too.

My very, very, difficult dog started muzzled and dosed with tranquilizers when Kristen did her first groom. Now Emmy, my sweet Maltese, with a snappy streak, just allows Kristen to go on ahead. WE love Kristen, she is a dog whisperer!

Our 2 year old puppy Mike was trained by Matt and we could not be happier with how well he was trained. Not only that but the entire staff are very nice and they love the animals. Mike loves going there and now that we’ve moved away we realize just how good we had it there 😄

I do not have any idea how I could make my work life actually work without the assistance of Alcala. My dog (large puppy), Simba, absolutely LOVES going to daycare and whenever I pick him up he is tired, calm and happy. Thank you so much to the team - especially Ali, Adam and Matt. Simba LOVES you :)

We have an 8 year old pit bull mix. She was a confident dog until she was attacked by another dog while my wife was walking her around the neighborhood. After that, she was anxious around other dogs. We took her to Alcala and they have been very patient with her. Slowly working her in with the other dogs so that she could build her confidence. Our dog has gone twice a week for the last 4 weeks and is now running around and playing with the dogs her size. The owner and employees have all been a pleasure to interact with.

I’ve been looking for a good groomer at a decent price. I found Kristen at Alacala. Best cut for both my dogs! Highly recommend her

Full disclaimer: we're empty nesters, so our fur babies have become our children. Therefore, to say that we adore them beyond words and do whatever is in their best interest would be an understatement. I say this because I want you, the reader, to know that we do our due diligence and research when it comes to those we trust with them. No cutting corners, second best, or anything else in between. None of that. So when I say that Alcala was and is a lifesaver, I sincerely mean it. Our maltipoo, Pumpkin, is 12 years old, so a puppy hasn't been in our household for 11 years. Thus, we were a taaad rusty. We adopted Zoom (labradoodle) when he was three months old (almost six months now) and boy o' boy! Did I mention that a puppy hasn't been in our house in over a decade?! Whew! I knew that no matter how much "training" I did on my own, I needed help. And fast. And from professionals. Alcala was recommended to me, and yep, you guessed it, I did my due diligence! But from the initial phone call to the orientation/assessment and through today, I'm glad I chose them and can't thank them enough for what they do. We signed him up for one of the training/daycare packages, and it has been worth every single penny. Every. Single. One. He gets out all the extra energy and sleeps in his "in-between" days, which I didn't think was possible, but he does. Daycare also allows Pumpkin, our other furry baby, to have a much needed break, and I can work peacefully knowing they're both not home all day, every day. So win, win, win. He absolutely LOVES going to Alcala, and although depending on his mood, he may/may not feel like getting into the car, once we arrive and I park, he can't wait to get out! And because he doesn't realize that he's no longer small in size (see photo below), he jumps on me to hurry up because apparently I don't go at the pace he would like. 😉 However, it is a sweet gesture that brings a smile to my face and tells me that he feels loved, protected, and comfortable there, which is the most I can ask for. Once training sessions are completed, he will be a part of regular daycare.

I can't thank Courtney, Cydney, Adam, and everyone else enough! Thank you for loving Zoomy and being a special part of his life. Thank you for doing God's work by helping shape these little creatures who are so incredibly precious. Thank you!

I have been a customer for many years now. I have a sr. 18-yr old cat, Luna, who has some issues, like needing a senior area where everything she needs is on one floor. Adam, Joe, and David are a few of my caregivers and do a wonderful job keeping Luna happy and protected. I put my trust in their hands. Thank you Alcala.

I'm really surprised this place does not have more reviews, because it is AMAZING. We only heard about it from our friend who lives in San Diego. We live in Los Angeles and specifically drove to San Diego to use this dog daycare and boarding center, as we were going out of town for two weeks for the holidays. None of the Los Angeles ones were even comparable to Alcala! These guys and gals sure know how to take care of dogs. Our golden retriever usually gets homesick after one night (we've tried multiple daycares before), but this place was able to make him feel comfortable and treat him well.

If you have a golden retriever, this place also does a really good golden cut as well. Tara (owner) was able to work around our schedule, truly cared about our pup, and set him up with Tasia who does an AMAZING job with goldens. We were so happy to have our pup back that we didn't even notice how great our golden's cut was until we got home. He got compliments all around, especially with how well they shaped and carefully cut his butt fluff. Highly recommend working with both Tara and Tasia!

This place is wonderful. The animals have play time as well as quiet time, and the staff is wonderful. I am so thrilled to have found exactly what I wanted for my dog. I'm very happy with Alcala!

We took our dog to the Alcala Country Pet Resort for a bath and haircut. Kristin did a fantastic job! I appreciate that they only work on one dog at a time as well. She got all of the matted fur out of our Golden Doodle as well. They gave me a 30 minute courtesy text as well. I will definitely return.

My experience with Alcala has always been positive for both training and boarding. The staff is experienced, patient, and accommodating and I am always at ease when my puppy is with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and fun environment for their pet!

We just boarded our year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel at Alcala Country Pet Resort for several days, and the proof that they did an excellent job of keeping her happy and healthy was in her attitude and physical condition when we brought her home. She was as happy as she could be. No clinging behaviors at all. (It was only the second time in her life that she had been boarded, and the other time was for a single day with another place.) And there were no medical issues, which I had worried slightly about, since she was taking Benadryl for seasonal allergies. Their care of our precious dog was wonderful!!

I have been taking our dog, a King Charles Cavalier to Alcala Country Pet Resort for over a year. Our groomer, Kristin does an amazing job. Our sweet boy is well cared for while he is at Alcala and he is beautiful when I pick him up. I highly recommend Alcala.

I bring the furry family member here every week. The staff is educated, takes time and genuinely cares about all the animals brought here. Whether you are getting a pet in for grooming or to stay and play with all the others you can not find a better place in north county San Diego to bring them.

Alcala Pet Resort is our go-to for training (thank you Cydney!), boarding and playtime! Our pups, Coco and Badger are always excited to go and the staff is amazing. The facility is very well-kept, clean and inviting. Our pups don’t go anywhere else!

This has been my first experience with Alcala Country Pet Resort. I am impressed with the quality of the staff and the resort overall. The cages are well maintained and there is a selection of the sizes of the cages to meet individual needs. I boarded two cats and they had a spacious clean cage. I will be back.

We have a 2 year old Golden Doddle named Maizie. She is a member of our family and very precious to us. Alcala was referred to us from other members of our community. We met Maddy and she gave us a tour of the facilities that was very family orientated and loving. All the employees know our dog by name and she loves spending the night and also having all her grooming needs met at this one facility. They are all very loving and the groomer also pointed out a potential health concern and we were able to see a vet about it. We highly recommend and endorse this pet resort.

Alcala resort is hands down the best doggie boarding in north county San Diego! They are super easy to reserve- online or over the phone. My dog loves the playgroups with doggies his size. They play in a big turf area so he doesn’t get too dirty. He loves the food they make and he comes home happy and well behaved. I completely trust them with my dog while we’re away and don’t even worry because I know he’s having the time of his life! Highly recommend!
